Tavis finally “sat down”:

“Well, you did it. This isn’t the way you wanted it to happen, but it happened anyway. Just like I knew it would,” begins an open letter from veteran radio personality Tom Joyner to Tavis Smiley.

It’s the latest in ongoing drama that followed Joyner’s announcement Friday that Smiley will end his twice-a-week commentaries on the syndicated morning show.

When the news broke, folks speculated that he couldn’t handle the backlash he’s been getting from blacks over his criticism of Barack Obama. Although Smiley released a statement saying he was leaving to focus on future projects under his company, The Smiley Group, Inc., Joyner isn’t buying it.

‘We all know that isn’t the real reason he’s leaving the show,’ Joyner writes in the open letter, ‘The real reason is that he can’t take the hate he’s been getting regarding the Barack issue — hate from the black people that he loves so much. He needed to feel the love. We all do, whether it’s from our radio audience or from people we know personally. He wasn’t feeling any love, so he quit.’ Continue »

VH1 presents its’ newest display of buffonery tonight. “Miss Rap Supreme” will features stank and unstable heffahs such as Khia and “Nicky2States”. Yo Yo and MC Serch are the ringleaders of this side show bullsh*t:

“The outstanding rapper from the first challenge, meaning the one who best ‘represents,’ is given the prized baseball cap that names her ‘Miss Representation.’

The show is also operating on a second front, which for want of a more polite term might be called ‘girlfights.’ Whether it’s spontaneous or not, several contestants spent a whole lot of time getting up in each other’s faces.”

We’d like to say to Vh1: “F**K YOU MOTHERF**KERS” for their continual minstrel show line up. This sh*t is pathetic. Step it up Vh1, and step into the 21st century while you’re at it, a**holes.

NBA star Carmelo Anthony was arrested on suspicion of DUI:

“The 23-year-old Denver Nuggets forward was driving on Interstate 25 in Colorado at around 4:00 AM when he was pulled over and taken into custody. Police say he was stopped for failing to drive in a single lane and failing to dim his lights.

Anthony’s attorney, Dan Recht, said, ‘He cooperated by consenting to a blood test, the results of which will not be available for approximately two weeks … There was no accident and no one was hurt. He is due back in court on May 14.’”

Sounds like Melo was really getting his swerve on. That DUI sh*t ain’t no joke, but the facts will surface soon enough.

MJ must be giddy than a mf. The judge squashed that gold-digger’s extortion efforts:

“A woman must abide by a previous restraining order to avoid contact with former NBA star Michael Jordan and stop using litigation regarding the order to claim he fathered her child.

Miceli [the gold-digger] has argued that the restraining order prevents her from negotiating a child-support settlement with Jordan. But Sperling told the court there will be no settlement discussions because Jordan didn’t father her child.”

This trick it nuts. Looks like her dreams of a big pay off have been destroyed. SMH at these unhinged heffahs using their kids as collateral.

Two parents were fighting over which GANG their 4 year old should belong to:

“On Saturday, Joseph Manzanares stormed into the Hollywood Video store where his girlfriend worked, threatened to kill her and knocked over several video displays and even a computer, Commerce City police Sgt. Joe Sandoval said. After he ran out of the store, police were called and the 19-year-old was arrested at his home.

His girlfriend told police that they had been arguing about the upbringing of their son and which gang he should belong to. The teen mother, who is black, is a member of the Crips. Manzanares is Hispanic and belongs to the Westside Ballers gang, [a source] said.

‘They have different ideas on how the baby should be raised. Basically, [the mother] said they cannot agree on which gang the baby would ‘claim,’”

We couldn’t make this sh*t up folks. Child Protective Services should swoop down and rescue that child from those fools. SMH.

Bossip was in the house at the opening night showing of Big Boi’s ballet production in Atlanta. We spotted new Bad Boy recruit Janelle Monae on the red carpet sporting a tutu in her usual unusual fashion.

Actually, this was Janelle’s costume for her performance in the show, but she worked it on the carpet too. We think she’s adorable, but… Are You Feelin’ This Get Up??
