A New Era Brings Old Hatred to the Forefront

Posted by Bossip Staff

According to a report by Livesteez, the organized hate has already begun:

President-elect Barack Obama has not even been sworn in yet as the 44th president of the United States but social groups are popping up online calling for his impeachment. On Facebook, an “Impeach Barack Obama” group has attracted more than 700 members, and a lively debate about the Democrat’s election victory on Tuesday over Republican John McCain, according to the AFP World News. Another Facebook group of the same name has 160 members and urges others to join because “we might as well get a head start on the impeachment of Obama.” “There are a lot of Americans out there that do not fully understand the concept of Socialism or Communism which is why they’ve elected Obama as president,” it says. Yet another Facebook group, “Impeach Barack Hussein Obama,” has 160 members. It decries that Obama “has voiced support for various unconstitutional programs such as the assault weapons ban, universal health care, and various schemes for wealth distribution.”

The system created by America has worked exactly the way it was intended to, and the person who won fair and square can’t even make a decision before they are calling for his figurative head. SMH

Here’s an example of the types of messages some people have the audacity to write.

Question of the Day

What you see above is not a youth center dance gone awry, it is actually Pharrell with Madonna in what can only be described as one of her many favorite positions. The question of the day is: What are the chances that Pharrell is actually enjoying being in between Madonna’s centuries old, flour colored, and muscular @ss legs?

Question of the Day

According to a report by Livesteez, Pittsburgh Steeler’s WR Santonio Holmes was busted for possession of marijuana.

Pittsburgh Steeler receiver Santonio Holmes will be charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession after a traffic stop in which police smelled burning marijuana and found marijuana-filled cigars in his car. He’s going to be summoned,” said police Sgt. R. Griffith, meaning Holmes was not arrested after the incident Thursday, but will receive notice of the charge in the mail. The charge, possession of a small amount of marijuana, is punishable by up to a year in jail but probation or a fine is common in most cases. Police said the 24-year-old Holmes acknowledged having marijuana when stopped and pointed out the blunts to officers. “We’re aware of what happened and are still gathering information at this time and will not comment,” Steelers spokesman Dave Lockett said Friday. Holmes and his agent have yet to release a comment, reports the Associated Press. The third-year player didn’t have his license when police stopped him around 4 p.m. near Mellon Arena, the home of hockey’s Pittsburgh Penguins.

Since herb is exceedingly popular here in the states and internationally, the question practically asks itself: Isn’t it time for the legal systems everywhere to concede on the war against Marijuana and try to legitimize it’s sale and distribution?

Question of the Day

Jim Brown shared his thoughts on MJ and Kobe:

The way Brown sees it, many of today’s athletes are simply in it for the money and celebrity, refusing to accept responsibility for having a huge impact on the culture around them. And he’s not afraid of naming names. “Athletes need to represent more than that just getting a big contract and lots of endorsements,” he says. “Take Michael Jordan. To me, he’s full of bull. He’s hiding his true self. All he cares about is getting ahead, being popular and enjoying the wealth of this country. Same with Kobe Bryant. For them, it’s all about making money and doing all the commercials.” Brown expects more from today’s athletes. After all, he walked the walk. When Muhammad Ali was stripped of his heavyweight title and threatened with jail time for refusing to register for the draft during the Vietnam War, it was Brown and Boston Celtics star Bill Russell who led a contingent of black athletes who offered Ali their support. “Sports is detrimental to the development of culture if all you’re willing to do is enjoy the fruits of this country,” he says. “You’ve got to reinvest in the culture, not just exploit it. Today people just want non-combative heroes, who smile and say all the right things. That’s fine, but that doesn’t mean you have to play the fool and shake your butt just because you caught a pass for a touchdown.”

Although we have always loved MJ, and ‘no comment’ on Kobe, those two guys have been almost non-existent when it comes to real issues facing Black America.

The Question of the Day is: Are athletes like MJ and Kobe responsible for investing in a positive future for Black America solely based on the fact that they are successful athletes?

Was Magic’s HIV Claim Suspect????

Posted by Bossip Staff

Rumors are flying around that Magic pulled the old, “I have the HIV,” one on us:

Magic Johnson says he’s outraged that a pair of Minneapolis talk radio hosts accused him of faking AIDS. KTLK’s Chris Baker and Langdon Perry made the remarks during Baker’s conservative talk show on Wednesday.  Perry responded by asking about treatable diseases that a person can live with for a long time “if you just get some basic drugs.” Baker responded, “Like Magic Johnson?” Perry replied, “Like Magic with his faked AIDS. Magic faked AIDS.” Baker said, “You think Magic faked AIDS for sympathy?” Perry replied, “I’m convinced that Magic faked AIDS.” “Me too,” Baker said. Johnson issued a statement Thursday saying he was “outraged that Chris Baker and Langdon Perry would minimize such a serious and deadly issue.”

“Millions are dying from HIV/AIDS, and the fact that they would make jokes about my status is unbelievable,” Johnson said. “Chris, Langdon and KTLK should use their power in a more positive light by encouraging people to get tested for this disease instead of making up such ridiculous lies.”

Why would showtime fake HIV? SMH.

Knuck If You Buck

Posted by Bossip Staff

Lil girls are scrapping more and more over boys. One little wheffah busted the other girl’s face all the way up with some old school brass knuckles out in Killer Cali:

A dispute over a boy prompted a teenage girl to beat a romantic rival with a pair of brass knuckles, leaving the victim with broken bones and her face permanently disfigured, police said Wednesday. “They both looked like All-American girls, which was surprising to us,” said Lt. Jeff Pinney. “Usually you see brass knuckles used by gang members, not young girls.” Continue »

Question of the Day

Senate majority, Harry Reid, spearheaded this massive bailout:

WASHINGTON – After a spectacular failure, the $700 billion financial-industry rescue plan found a second life, winning lopsided passage in the Senate last night and gaining ground in the House, where conservative opposition seemed to soften. The rescue bill – loaded with tax breaks for business and an increase in deposit-insurance limits – passed 74-25. It heads to the House for a vote tomorrow. House passage would require a turnaround of 12 votes from Monday’s stunning 228-205 defeat, which sent markets into a tailspin around the globe. “It is my expectation that the House of Representatives will follow suit,” Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid said after his chamber’s vote.

The question of the day is: who is responsible for paying this $700B tab? How special; you were gonna say the government. This one’s on us. I guess you won’t be buying those tagless tees from Hanes for your nephew because CHRISTMAS IS OFFICIALLY CANCELLED, until further notice. Tell your friends.
