Quote of The Day: Barack Obama

Posted by Bossip Staff

NPR Host Steve Inskeep recently asked Barack Obama “Will you need to dominate (the black) vote in order to win?

Obama: “I will be speaking to themes that are important to that community, but I don’t expect to get monolithic African American vote… I think we have some strong candidates in the field and it would be presumptuous of me to assume that people would vote for me simply because of my race.”

Recent polls by CNN suggest:

“Whites are more likely than blacks to say America is ready for a black president, which may be part of why much of the African-American community is cool to the presidential candidacy of Sen. Barack Obama.”

Quote of The Day: Foxy Brown

Posted by Bossip Staff

Foxy Brown held a press conference yesterday to discuss her recent arrest in Florida. Foxy alleges the store owners barged in on her while she was on the toilet and told her to leave the store.

“The only crime I am guilty of committing is being a young black female celebrity in Broward County,” said Brown. “I am the victim of an overzealous police department who engaged in police brutality and a money-hungry store owner whose motives are for me to pay his mortgage on his house and his children’s tuition.”

Quote of the Day: Clemson University Students

Clemson University students after being investigated for recently throwing a rac*st-themed party:

“We invited all races and types of peoples and never meant any racial harm”…”We want everyone to know how sorry we are, and that we are willing to do anything to make things right”.

Quote of The Day: Kim Porter

Posted by Bossip Staff

Kim Porter in the December issue of Essence Magazine speaking about Jenny from The Scientology Block :

But she says of Diddy’s connection to Lopez, “That relationship wasn’t real. The world just saw the bright lights and the camera. But I knew what was really going on. He was still in love with me.”….But as long as he makes us feel like we’re a family, I’m fine.” And, she says, “There’ll be one day when he won’t be working so hard, (and) then we have a lifetime. … I’m not a needy person. If I were, I’d probably be somewhere pulling out my hair right now.”

New York Daily News this morning:

On Friday night, Diddy was with two other beauties around 4 a.m. when he hit Scores West, says our spywitness.”They were J.Lo look-alikes,” the source exulted. Diddy and the two ladies were seen to enter one of the club’s private rooms, but not before he picked out two “very pretty” Scores dancers to entertain the threesome inside. Diddy’s bodyguards posted themselves outside the door

Quote Of The Day: Damon Dash on Jay-Z’s Disloyalty

Posted by Bossip Staff

Damon Dash speaking to AHH:

I’ll tell you what I mean by tension. I wasn’t anticipating not having Roc-A-Fella Records. Jay was presented with a choice of going and doing what he wanted to do by himself, which was cool with me. But he came back with “I want to do my own thing, but I also want the brand and Idon’t want Jay, Damon and Biggs now.” That one threw me off because I wasn’t expecting that.

AllHipHop.com:
Was that just a straight show of disloyalty?

Dame Dash: Well you can call it how you see it.

Jay’s a Black man, an African-American, and I wish any African-American good luck. It’s not diplomacy, it’s about the fact that as a culture, we don’t stick together, and that’s the problem. So even if somebody’s scumbagging me, I’m not gonna scumbag them back. I want that dude to be successful so that he can be another ambassador of our community, so that people can say “Oh, a Black kid did his thing.”

Quote of The Day: Joumana Kidd’s Divorce Lawyer

Posted by Bossip Staff

Asked if Kidd was unfaithful to his wife, Joumana Kidd’s lawyer Raoul Felder said the following:

“Do they sell pantyhose at Macy’s?” “He’s been gone awhile and no one knows where he stays,” the celebrated divorce lawyer said. “That right there should tell you something.”

Joumana’s lawyer Felder reminded reporters that Kidd was once busted for punching his wife in the mouth in a fight over his eating their son’s French fries. JK’s steez and his eyes suggest Joumana should be worried about her safety rather than the millions she is set to get.

Quote of The Day: Oprah Winfrey

Posted by Bossip Staff

“I became so frustrated with visiting inner-city schools [in the U.S.]. If you ask the kids what they want or need, they will say an iPod or some sneakers. In South Africa, they don’t ask for money or toys. They ask for uniforms so they can go to school.”

Oprah just opened her $40 million dollar ‘Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls’ which is set on 22 acres and spread over 28 buildings in South Africa. Tina Turner, Mariah Carey, Mary J Blige, and Spike Lee all hit up the school opening in support. This quote is making the rounds as a diss on the FUBU kids but I think this is more about American values. Next….

Waiting on the 25 Cent Leadership Academy for Boys to pop up. Source

Quote of The Day: Rocsi

Posted by Bossip Staff

After SOHH mentioned that the fellas are not missing former host FREE (oh really?) on 106th and Park, Rocsi responded by saying:

“I have no a*s or titties, I don’t know why they would come after me”

She left out that her accent is disgusting and she is one of the most irrating people on tv to listen to. Don’t they have immigration classes for that? How Rocsi beat out over 5000 contenders to take Free’s spot on 106th is a question I have. Cassie probably has the answer.

Quote of The Day: Al Sharpton and His Perm

Posted by Bossip Staff

Every day, Sharpton delivers on a promise he made to Brown a couple of decades ago when he asked the civil rights activist “to straighten your hair like mine so when people see you they think you’re my son.”Brown often called Sharpton, urging: “I want you to keep it that way until I die.” Sharpton said he will never give up the look. “That’s my bond with James Brown.”

Al is trying to blame rockin a Malcolm Little/Detroit Red conk in 2006 on James B. SMH.

Quote of The Day: Terrence Howard

Posted by Bossip Staff

Terrence Howard looks to be taking this Holiday thing too far with the three wiseman from the Christmas pagaent at your local church look during the third annual Dubai International Film Festival on Sunday. The actor is in the United Arab Emirates with his family for the holiday season. Terrence Howard told People Magazine :

It’s an amazing place. I want my children to see a place where people of color have made great strides and really have a chance.”

Considering ” Mr. Manpurse-I support Michael Richards Howards” is a multi-millionaire here in America, I think he “really has a chance” right here. Not too many countries where you can play a pimp and blow up. SMH.

Quote of the Day: Hoopz

Posted by Bossip Staff

Winner of Flavor of Love 1 Hoopz during an interview discussing gossip tranny Wendy Williams keeping Hoopz name in her mouth :

“Fu*k that b*tch!” Hoopz told SOHH.com by phone. “Who the fu*k is she? A fat a*s b*tch with a mouth. That’s it.”

Hoopz goes on to say that she was kickin it with TI at a party and his baby mama Tiny came over and checked him. Although lil “Tiny” formerly of Xscape later got on the radio talking reckless about she was going to beat down Hoopz, Hoopz said Tiny didn’t pop sh*t to her face while at the party.

Come on “Tiny”, what the hell were you going to do, throw something at Hoopz ankles? ? A FUBU fight between Hoopz and Wendy Williams would probably be more fair and just about everyone would probably suddenly turn into a Hoopz fan.
