MAN! We would be SO excited about this news if it was like… 2005. You know, ten years after the original, as opposed to ten years after “Friday After Next.”

But, nevertheless, Ice Cube and the team behind “Friday” are working on a fourth film just like Debo said last month, TMZ reports.

Ice Cube has finally confirmed he’s resurrecting the ‘Friday’franchise … telling TMZ the goal is to bring back the entire ORIGINAL cast … including Chris Tucker.

A rep for Cube Vision Productions tells us … “Absolutely yes the studio is in the process of getting the entire original cast to do another ‘Friday.’”

The statement continues, “[Ice Cube] is very excited about this and has every intention to make it happen.”

Just last month, TMZ spoke with the musclebound behemoth who played DeBo … who told us both he and Chris Tucker are down to reunite for the 4th installment of the ‘Friday’franchise … but they still have to work out their contracts.

Listen, we’re glad they’re trying to bring everyone back and all. But, we can’t help but feel a little concerned about the plot. Because, recession or not: we DO NOT want to see Craig and Smokey going through the same struggles in their 30s MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!

According to TMZ reports:

The IRS hasn’t forgotten about Chris Tucker’s $11.5 million debt … TMZ has learned that Uncle Sam is still trying to collect their cash … 17 months after slapping the actor with a big, fat tax bill.

According to the L.A. County Recorder’s Office, the lien issued against Tucker back in July 2010 is still active … which means, he still owes money … which means the government can legally seize his assets.

TMZ broke the story … the IRS claims Tucker stiffed them out of income tax during multiple years … including 2001, when Tucker allegedly raked in a $20 mil payday for “Rush Hour 2.”

Still, Tucker is finally laughing at his financial troubles in a standup routine, joking last weekend, “that’s the last time I let Wesley Snipes help me out with my taxes.”

No comment from Tucker’s camp.

According to TMZ:

Chris Tucker’s ongoing tax problems have reached Nicolas Cage proportions — according to new docs, the “Rush Hour” star now owes the IRS more than $11 million in back taxes. The Internal Revenue Service filed documents with the L.A. County Recorder’s Office yesterday, which show Tucker owes $11,571,909.26 in federal taxes for the years 2001, 2002 and 2004 through 2006.

Here’s how it all breaks down:

2001 — $4,007,794.34
2002 — $5,060,074.23
2004 — $55,544.84
2005 — $660,414.94
2006 — $1,788,080.91

Inspired by the Darryl Littleton’s book “Black Comedians On Black Comedy: How African Americans Taught Us To Laugh,” Why We Laugh is a documentary that features performances and interviews from some of the most celebrated and outspoken comedians of our time, including Dave Chapelle, Whoopi Goldberg, Katt Williams, Chris Rock, Steve Harvey, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor and Bill Cosby. The film raises some excellent points about Black comedy, things that actually meet many of the aims this site works toward regularly — laughter is important — particularly in a community that is harder hit by poverty, racism and violence than most others. How important do you think comedy is to basic Black survival? Are their any instances you can think of where comedy is the most effective way of addressing certain issues? Does there need to be more of a balance — particularly in the kind of films that represent the Black experience (more drama instead of comedy)? When is, or when has, the joke been on us???
