The 27th Annual National Association Of Black Owned Broadcasters Communication Awards Dinner went down in DC last night and while fellow performers Regina Belle and Chrisette Michele managed to keep it classy, we can’t say the same for Fanny.

Why does she bother with the sequined dress when she is just gonna kick her shoes off and act like she’s at a barnyard dance?

Ummm… The Grammy Foundation had an event in L.A. to celebrate it’s Music Preservation Project “World Revolution.”

Marsha Ambrosius and Tank were there, as well as Chrisette Michelle, DJ Jazzy Jeff, MC Lyte, Paul Wall and a few other names we’ve seen this year.

Then there was Naughty By Nature, Arrested Development, Lil Mama and Everlast – you know: the guy who quit House of Pain to do emo music for White folks, then became a radical Muslim and is now apparently back to rapping.

We’re not hating. This just seems like a random group of people to bring together. But who asked us anyway.

Rick Ross is calling out his “Aston Martin Music” collaborator Chrisette Michele after the famed songstress criticized him for walking out of the 2010 Soul Train Awards.

As previously reported, Chrisette denounced Ross after he lost the “Best Hip-Hop Song” category to Eminem and was scene storming out of the awards angrily shortly after. Continue…

“Love Thy Brother” is a mixtape that me and my brother Lem Payne conceptualized and dreamed about doing for so long. It’s a special project that’s dear to us. We go from Aston Martin Music to the state of Black Boys in America.

So creatively, each song you hear from “Love Thy Brother,” represents the struggle. I poured my blood, sweat, and tears into each of these songs, but they didn’t make my first 3 albums. But each song was dear to me in their own special way and I wanted the world to hear these songs out of love for all of my fans.

I just wanted to give something back to all the fans that have supported throughout the years. This mixtape is for you… the fans.”

If you’ve been wondering what all the fuss is about over Kanye West’s new short film “Runaway,” have no fear. Rocsi got to the bottom of it for the rest of us.

Apparently Rocsi filmed a special interview with Yeezy that’s airing tomorrow:

Grammy Award Winning entertainer and producer, Kanye West sits down with BET’s Rocsi Diaz for an intimate interview immediately following the world premiere of his abstract short film, “Runaway”. Kanye West and Rocsi discuss his relentless dedication to pop culture, his return to music with his G.O.O.D. Friday project, and his artistic vision behind his groundbreaking film, broadcasting simultaneously on BET, MTV, and VH1, Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 8:00 pm EST/PST.

Here’s a little more info about the film:

“Runaway”, directed and written by Kanye West and narrated by Nicki Minaj, is a 35-minute short film accompanying West’s upcoming album, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” starring Kanye West and featuring model, Selita Ebanks as a phoenix, the film’s lead character. West opens up to Rosci explaining the meaning of the phoenix throughout “Runaway” and in his own personal life stating “I feel like a phoenix that rises from the ashes to just be greater.” The film, sharing the same title as West’s lead single “Runaway” featuring Pusha T, includes music from West’s current “G.O.O.D. Friday” releases, some of which will appear on the album, slated to release November 22.

We didn’t realize Nicki Minaj was narrating the film! This sounds like it could actually be good. Speaking of G.O.O.D. Kanye had his NYC Premiere of “Runaway” last night. Check out lots of pictures below.
