Dame Dash: “I Can’t Protect Jay-Z No More”

Damon Dash breaks down his dealings with Jay-Z. Apparently, he no longer has the Hov’s back, but somehow, I doubt Jay-Z’s losing any sleep over that shyte. LOL at that sinister chuckle at the end.

Who Looked More Bangin???

Naomi was flying solo while rocking the Cruella DeVille swag at the screening of The Wrestler in NYC last night. Rachel Roy was spotted at the event as well, looking rather dazed and confused. So between the two, we figured we’d ask: Who Looked More Bangin???

Let’s Hope It’s Not Rocks

Mr. Financial Turmoil himself was showing some unusual behavior at a recent event:

Damon Dash couldn’t sit still during John Galliano’s speech at the CFDA Fashion Fund and told his table at Sky light Studios he was “bugging out,” prompting a guest to say, “He was really a mess”

Poor Dame, such an easy target these days. Probably soaking up all this ‘free publicity.”

Setting Things Straight

Posted by Bossip Staff

Jim Jones made the cover of Complex Magazine and in the interview he sets the record straight about his stacks, music and beef:

You have a guest role on the Starz show Crash. What else are you getting into for ’09?

Jim Jones: Well, the sky’s the limit, man. There are so many things I want to do. We just started a comedy division together: me, Dame and Mike Epps. We’re getting ready to do the big concert with Epps, and we got a soundtrack to the comedy show. It’s called From Hollywood to Harlem—it should be really funny. Mike Epps is brilliant. I want to explore the movie world through comedy and try to get in that way. Not too many people know me in Hollywood, and that’s the place I need to be. I need everybody to know me.

And what about the play you’re starring in?

Jim Jones: I’m doing a play called Hip-Hop Monologues Off-Broadway. It’s something we derived for my new album. You know how everybody does a listening session and all the publicity comes through, and there’s a little bit of liquor there, and they play the music? I got tired of doing that; I wanted to do something very different. Something to gain people’s attention ’cause I want this album to be a real success. We’re going to do the best verses that fit the situation out of all the songs to pull this play off, and then we’re going to have a full stage set, the backgrounds, and are just going to paint the whole picture. But for the most part, I’ll be how John Leguizamo was in Freak; I’ll be the center of attention.

And So the Drama Begins…

It looks like Damon Dash is starting sh*t:

Damon Dash is telling more tales about his estranged business partner, Jay-Z. His latest: that Jigga set off a feud with Kanye West by refusing to bestow his bling on Kanye.

Dash claims the simmering beef dates back to a 2003 Chicago concert, where the then-up-and-coming Kanye expected ruling Roc-A-Fella artist Jay to “knight” him by presenting him with a gleaming chain.

But, according to Dash, Jay didn’t want to fork over the chain.

“This n- [Kanye ] was like, ‘Wow. [Jay-Z] ain’t going to give me the chain,’” Dash alleges in December’s Complex magazine. “I had to take off my chain and give it to him, and I was heated. I had the real canary diamonds. That s- cost $40,000! I told Kanye, ‘Yo, you got to give that back when we get off this stage!’”

Dash contends that after Jay-Z violated the code of hip-hop chivalry, “Kanye hated Jay-Z.” But a rep for Kanye tells us the story is “ridiculous and totally false.” Others suggested that Dash, whose business relationship with Jay ended badly, has trotted out the story to hype his latest protege, rapper Jim Jones.

“This is sad,” says one source. “Damon does this every time he’s promoting an artist. He just makes things up.”

We knew it wouldn’t be long before Damon started some sh*t. When you back a man into a corner, he will do anything to get out of it, even if that means acting like a lil’ b*tch. Man up, Dame. SMH

When The Checks Stop Coming In

Posted by Bossip Staff

Although Bossip exclusively chopped it up with Damon Dash late last year and he denied rumors that his checks stopped coming in, sh*t has reportedly hit the fan:

A bank wants his Tribeca condos, the city is seizing his SUV and his lawyer dropped him for not paying his legal bills. The co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records and Rocawear – who in 2005 sold his share in the clothing empire to Jay-Z for $20 million – is under assault in Manhattan Supreme Court from lawyers, lenders and landlords fed up with not getting paid. The fall has been a dizzying one for Dash, who has gone from owning Keds, a vodka company and 1,300 pairs of shoes to dodging bills and accusing a former accountant of ripping him off for millions of dollars. “I’ve worked with musicians, artists and entertainers that in the eyes of the media are very wealthy,” said lawyer Jason Gabbard, who represented a fashion firm that settled a suit against Dash and his wife over $148,505 in unpaid fees. “But to borrow a phrase from my Kentucky homeland, they haven’t got a pot to p— in – they’re broke.” A Manhattan judge this week ordered the city to seize Dash’s Chevrolet Tahoe, since he wasn’t making the $714.99 monthly payment on the leased SUV.

Ever since the Camel break-up, the checks have not been coming in for poor little Dame. It may be about time to get a “regular” job again, and quit playing rap mogul with no rappers.

Pop the hood and get a gander at broke @ss Dame with a jumpoff, Valeisha Butterfield, and his daughter Ava, at the Jim Jones bufoonery. Continue »

A Mad Dash for Stacks

Damon Dash attended the Moma Film Benefit Gala in NY. He brought his wife, Rachel Roy, but there weren’t any pics snapped of them actually together. Perhaps, she is trying to slowly part ways with him, kinda like his money did as well. SMH

Zoe Kravitz was there with her depressed swag in effect as well:

Dame’s Seed Still Missing

Dame’s son has not been seen in a minute….

Damon Dash still hasn’t seen his son for weeks , even after a court said she must return the boy to him , and now a judge is going to haul the boy’s mama back in cuffs if that’s what it takes. The judge in the Dash custody battle finally lost her patience and issued a bench warrant yesterday. Linda Williams is still defying the judge’s order to return Damon II, whom she picked up weeks ago for a weekend visit and hasn’t returned. The whereabouts of the child are unknown.

Damn this stupid jump off is still on the run with little Dame? Now she is going to have to do a bid for her actions. Is the simple minded heffah holding him hostage? Ish don’t stop…SMH

Where Is Little Dame??

Damon Dash’s baby moms went underground with little Dame:

Hip-hop mogul Damon Dash’s ex-lover has been ordered to return their 16-year-old son to him immediately after a New York judge ruled in the star’s favor in an ongoing custody battle. Damon Jr. was allegedly enrolled by his mother Linda Williams at a school in Long Island, New York after a visit to her home last week. But Dash, who has sole custody of the teenager, had reportedly planned for him to attend school in the city’s Upper West Side. Judge Susan Knipps ruled at a Manhattan Family Court hearing on Wednesday, September 10, that Williams must return Damon Jr. to his father immediately or face legal consequences. Knipps threatened to issue an arrest warrant for Williams – who did not turn up at the hearing – but held off amid concerns over whether or not she had been properly notified. Williams has been ordered to make a court appearance on Monday, September 15. Dash’s lawyer, Robert Wallack, said, “Damon’s position is we expect the child to be turned over immediately, and we expect Ms. Williams to comply with the judge’s orders.”

This simple heffah needs to just hand him over so he can run through them “hoes” with his daddy before they lock her ass up. Dame’s “mogul status” seems to be dwindling and she should cut her loses now. Ass clown.

Dame Still Dealing With Custody Woes

Posted by Bossip Staff

Damon Dash is not allowed to see his oldest son:

Damon Dash’s baby mama is holding his son “hostage,” and Dash is hauling her into court this morning so he can see the kid. Linda Williams — who’s the mother of Damon Dash II, aka “Boogie” — hasn’t allowed Damon to see Boogie. So Dash’s lawyer, Robert Wallack, has filed a motion to make Linda physically bring the son to court. Williams has made an extensive litany of claims about Boogie’s treatment as Dash’s son, claiming he hasn’t had running water and electricity in his house, among other things. Damon’s lawyer denies all of this.

This b*tch sounds crazy, especially after she was talking all the no electricity and hot water ish before… At least the man is trying to see his son. We can’t stand broads like this. She’s probably holding him ‘hostage’ for reasons that has nothing to do with the boy.

Apparently Dame Dash’s 4 Billion Dollar Rachel Roy funds haven’t kicked in just yet:

A bank is suing Damon Dash for allegedly dashing away from his mortgage. The hip-hop mogul failed to pay Eastern Savings Bank $78,504 in monthly payments for a pair of trendy Tribeca condos from January to August, the bank claims. Now the bank is warning Dash that he’s in danger of losing his apartments in the Sugar Warehouse on Laight St. and in the Atalanta on North Moore St. unless he comes up with the cash in a hurry. The Rich Keep Getting Richer

Damon Dash and wife Rachel Roy must be celebrating like a mf at this point:

“Damon Dash, the man who helped Jay-Z take Roc-A-Fella Records from the streets to the corporate level, and his wife Rachel Roy announced Monday that they’ve have formed a $4 billion dollar joint venture Jones Apparel Group to develop, market and license the New York-based fashion brand named after his wife.”

We can’t knock ‘em for taking their game to the next level. They got their mogul steez on serious lock.

Damon Dash Rachel Roy

Damon Dash and wife Rachel Roy welcomed another little girl, Tallulah Ruth, to the family on May 13th. Tallulah Ruth, huh? Let’s just hope she’s named after somebody’s Grandma or something.
