This stunning 5,200 SF duplex loft boasts 20 foot ceilings in the living room, 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths on TriBeCa’s best block. Add huge windows facing north and south, a mint kitchen and luxurious bathrooms, it leaves nothing to be desired.
Damon informed Bossip back in November that his financial situation is fine, but with a new baby on the way and crazy broads suing him he’s gonna need all the dough he can get.
Lisa Raye attended the Baby Phat fashion show this weekend rocking a short set/turtleneck fit in her signature white complete with the white pantyhose. We know there were some better white ensembles for Lisa to choose. Why the poofy shorts and white stockings?
Another day, another lawsuit. An Atlanta woman, Jamie Roberts, 24, claims that she was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder after a random encounter with Damon Dash back in 2004. She is suing Dash for $30,000 and claims that he made her crazy after meeting him in Miami:
The bizarre suit, which Roberts, 24, wrote up herself, says she met Dash at a Miami club that March, where he inexplicably used the name “Jeremy McIntyre” and took her to a nearby marina. There he showed her “his genital area” in an “offensive manner” and tried to force her into performing oral sex, the suit claims. Nine months later, Roberts said she “began to hear defendant’s voice in her ear, giving her certain directions to follow.” The suit says she discovered McIntyre’s true identity in early 2005 “while watching a taping of the “Dave Chapelle Show.”
This sounds like pure comedy. Broads going crazy over some “D” and writing up their own lawsuits. What’s even funnier is that she discovered who he was after watching the “Roca Pads” episode of Chappelle’s Show.
Jeremy McIntyre Damon Dash made a statement on the situation:
“We know nothing about it. It’s quite obvious this is a false allegation.”
Bossip recently interviewed Damon Dash were he discussed his paper situation. Although Dash said his finances are fine, the New York Post says something different:
The records show that hip-hop mogul Damon Dash – whose estimated $50 million fortune bought him a chauffeur-driven $400,000 Maybach sedan, diamond-encrusted watches and more than 1,000 pairs of sneakers – owes the state more than $2 million.
Dash, 36, is one of almost 225,000 city debtors who together have shortchanged the city and state more than $1 billion in income taxes, penalties and interest, the records show.
Dame better pay up, SMH. Cicely Tyson and Ben Vereen are on the list as well.
In our exclusive Bossip interview with Damon Dash and Kareem “Biggs” Burke, the founders of The Roc, we discuss everything from rumors of Dash’s financial trouble, would Jay-Z be wacked for his disloyalty if The Roc was a mafia organization, and which female celebrities he would have a threesome with. We also discuss his fashion designer wife, Rachel Roy, and why his social networking site, Block Savvy, hasn’t really jumped off yet.
Damon Dash discusses how he met his wife and his social networking venture, Block Savvy. Dash speaks on why America Magazine and Damon Dash Music Group didn’t jump off. Speaking on Jay-Z still putting out albums, he says you have to know when to quit.
Damon Dash talks about The Roc falling apart and his relationship with Jay-Z. He says what Jay-Z did was ‘like a betrayal’. Dash speaks on Jay-Z disloyalty and embarrassing The Roc movement. Dash also says he doesn’t know Jay-Z anymore. He says his wife was the driving force behind growing Rocawear into a business worth over $700 million. Dash addresses rumors of him being in financial turmoil.
Kareem “Biggs” Burke introduces himself and Dash discusses whether Jay’s music is currently strong enough to do another Streets is Watching musical. He says he doesn’t really listen to Jay’s music anymore.
Damon Dash and his wife, fashion designer Rachel Roy, join the celebrity baby boom and are expecting baby number two. The couple already has a seven year-old named Ava. Congrats to them, but sheesh, it’s getting to be too much keeping up with all these knocked-up celebs these days.
Damon Dash and Kareem “Biggs” Burke will release a new mixtape called Beyond Reasonable Doubt showcasing music from Reasonable Doubt done by former Roc-A-Fella artists. Via AHH:
Beyond Reasonable Doubt is a series of songs that were recorded three or four years ago with artists that were signed to a pre-breakup Roc-A-Fella Records.
“A couple of years back, because Reasonable Doubt was so endearing to us, and it was like the only thing that me and Biggs [the other previous co-owner of Roc-A-Fella Records] and Jay really owned 100%, we always wanted to celebrate it. I thought it would be good to put out something where we paid tribute to the records that were on Reasonable Doubt and other records, and we called it Beyond Reasonable Doubt, through the other artists. And also give the artists a platform to showcase their skills too.”
This is actually something we are looking forward to listening to. It will be good to hear stuff from the pre-divorce Roc era. Artists like Rell, Nicole Wray, Oschino & Sparks, Memphis Bleek, etc. will be on the mixtape. And for all of you that were thinking that this was a set up to cash in on Jay-Z American Gangster publicity season both Dame and Biggs state:
“This is how we’re giving back to the people,” Biggs said. Concurring, Dash said, “We ain’t making no money off it. It’s not for a sale. It’s for a listen. It’s for a gander.”
Damon Dash got dissed by Victoria Beckham the other night. Dash was once determined to turn Posh Spice into an American star. But when the hip-hop mogul stopped by her table at an NYC restaurant to chat, she gave him the brushoff. “You could see she didn’t want to talk to him,” says a spy. “She left shortly after he arrived.”
Damn, is Dame Diddy, Dame Daddy, or Dame Dummy burning bridges with folks? Say it ain’t so. He was probably going to make Victoria Beckham an Amercian Star just like he did Rell, Freeway, and all the other State Property dudes. He might want to keep people with dough at the top of his “friends” list, especially with the financial turmoil rumors swirling around.
Damon Dash recently sold his plush Beverly Hills crib for $3.8 million and some are speculating whether he is raising some much needed cash for his Hollyweird movie projects and his wife’s money losing fashion line. Back in May, the New Post speculated that Damon Dash’s finances were in trouble.
Someone get Joe Camel on the phone and remind him who helped get the ROC off the ground, the homie needs some help. Rachel Roy is getting her Kimora on and probably is on her way out. Here is are pictures of the sick Beverly crib.
Damon Dash’s marriage to fashion designer Rachel Roy doesn’t seem be going that well. They were spotted getting into it again. Via Page Six:
REVELERS at the downtown hot spot Socialista got to watch a brief public quarrel between music mogul Damon Dash and his wife/business partner, designer Rachel Roy, Wednesday night. “They got into a screaming match,” said a witness. Dash, who co-owns the club, was spotted at Cipriani Downtown before hitting the after-party for Lorraine Schwartz around midnight. “He was in an altered state,” said our spy. “Rachel was curled up on a couch with another guy, and when he saw her he flipped and stormed out.” Roy stayed put, but Dash headed back to Cipriani. A rep for Dash says, “There’s no trouble.”
“Former” Hip-Hop heavyweight Damon Dash was spotted Sunday taking a walk with his fashion designer wife Rachel Roy and daughter. What’s up with Rachel’s facial expression? This almost looks like like a nice and wholesome family.
