Damon Dash’s marriage to fashion designer Rachel Roy doesn’t seem be going that well. They were spotted getting into it again. Via Page Six:

REVELERS at the downtown hot spot Socialista got to watch a brief public quarrel between music mogul Damon Dash and his wife/business partner, designer Rachel Roy, Wednesday night. “They got into a screaming match,” said a witness. Dash, who co-owns the club, was spotted at Cipriani Downtown before hitting the after-party for Lorraine Schwartz around midnight. “He was in an altered state,” said our spy. “Rachel was curled up on a couch with another guy, and when he saw her he flipped and stormed out.” Roy stayed put, but Dash headed back to Cipriani. A rep for Dash says, “There’s no trouble.”

With Damon’s pockets looking slim compared to a few years go, how long will it last? Tick, tick, tick…..

“Former” Hip-Hop heavyweight Damon Dash was spotted Sunday taking a walk with his fashion designer wife Rachel Roy and daughter. What’s up with Rachel’s facial expression? This almost looks like like a nice and wholesome family.

Legal Hustle

According to the good folks over at AHH, Joe Camel and Damon Dash have been hit with a $15 million dollar lawsuit for stealing the concept of the movie State Property from his novel. Antonne Jones says he with with The Roc in 1998 and wanted 500K for the rights and Jay and Dame just ganked it and made the movie. Click here to read more about the lawsuit.

In other legal hustle news, a 40/40 club waitress wants to get paid minimum wage and says Joe Camel only pays tips. Click here to read about her lawsuit against Jay-Z and his 40/40 partner.

It Was All Good a Week Ago

Since being dumped by Joe Camel, Damon Dash has been struggling to get his mogul on. Via New York Post:

An analysis of Dash’s various holdings, which range from fashion to entertainment, turns up more misses than hits. Dash’s CEO clothing line has yet to take off, reality TV show “Ultimate Hustler” aired for one season and bombed in the ratings, and his foray into Hollywood with the movies “State Property” and “The Woodsman” has not produced box office hits, though DVD sales have fared better. Meanwhile, Dash has pulled the plug on his State Property sportswear line and fledgling record label Damon Dash Music Group, according to spokeswoman Amanda Silverman. “Music is not where the money is,” she said.

While a line of designer clothing by wife Rachel Roy has garnered critical acclaim, and a higher profile after Roy appeared on “Oprah,” it has yet to turn a profit. Dash’s biggest win so far has been Pro-Keds, a sneaker brand he licensed from Stride Rite in 2004 and which, according to industry estimates, has more than doubled sales in the past year to exceed $22 million.

SMH, Damon Dash just looks like a loser everytime I see him without Joe Camel, Mr. President. It’s like a son looking for his father for ‘missed’ direction. Jay-Z, come help your boy get his mind and paper right. He will appreciate you now. It is rumored Dash will take over Joe Camel’s spot at DefJam once he leaves later this year. There are also rumors that DefJam layed off 40 employees today and Joe Camel is running the label into the ground.

Mr Biggs, Wesley Snipes, and now Dash, why can’t anyone find a decent accountant?

Where Was Damon Dash???????

Posted by Bossip Staff

Jay-Z hosted Beanie Siegel’s birthday party at the 40/40 club last night in NYC and it looks like the entire old ROC was there. Freeway and the Young Gunz came out. Where was Damon Dash? The beef must be pretty thick between Dame and Joe Camel. The Roc lives!

Damon Dash’s ‘I am a Film Producer" Look

Posted by Bossip Staff

Damon Dash was spotted over the weekend at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. It looks like he wants everyone to know he is a creative film producer. We are hearing good things about his new film ‘Weapons’ which stars Nick Cannon. Maybe Joe Camel is not the only one who can prove that the success at Rocafella can be replicated solo. Thanks to Sherry at the Philips Simplicity Lounge at Sundance.

Diddy, Damon Dash, and Pharell at Sundance party over the weekend looking like they are about to make it rain. SMH@Diddy.

Quote Of The Day: Damon Dash on Jay-Z’s Disloyalty

Posted by Bossip Staff

Damon Dash speaking to AHH:

I’ll tell you what I mean by tension. I wasn’t anticipating not having Roc-A-Fella Records. Jay was presented with a choice of going and doing what he wanted to do by himself, which was cool with me. But he came back with “I want to do my own thing, but I also want the brand and Idon’t want Jay, Damon and Biggs now.” That one threw me off because I wasn’t expecting that.

AllHipHop.com:
Was that just a straight show of disloyalty?

Dame Dash: Well you can call it how you see it.

Jay’s a Black man, an African-American, and I wish any African-American good luck. It’s not diplomacy, it’s about the fact that as a culture, we don’t stick together, and that’s the problem. So even if somebody’s scumbagging me, I’m not gonna scumbag them back. I want that dude to be successful so that he can be another ambassador of our community, so that people can say “Oh, a Black kid did his thing.”

Damon Dash Got 99 Problems and a Disgruntled Ho is One

Posted by Bossip Staff

A slow day today, so I guess we will share some of the R Kelly stuff floating around.

Via New York Post:

A panel of judges has shot down hip-hop mogul Damon Dash’s bid to ship a sensational multimillion-dollar sex-assault case against him down to Brazil. “I’m sure he’d love to bury this case in some little outpost down there, but now he’ll have to deal with this in the New York courts,” said Raoul Felder, the lawyer for the plaintiff, Kristie Thompson. Dash’s lawyer, Robert Kalina, declined to comment. The $15 million lawsuit says the assault took place on Jan. 1, 2003, after Thompson had met Dash at a New Year’s Eve part on the island of Angra off the Brazilian coast. Dash, who has denied the allegations, was never charged criminally. Thompson filed suit against Dash, 35, in 2003. He sought to have the case moved to Brazil, arguing that it was the site of the alleged attack. The state Appellate Division court sided with Thompson, finding both she and Dash “live and work in New York,” as do many of the proposed witnesses.

Without Joe Camel money coming in anymore, $15 million would probably break Damon Dash’s bank. What is Damon Dash without Joe Camel and money? This question may pop up on a SNL skit…..Damon’s Kiddies, Damon’s Kiddies.

Who is Damon Dash?

Posted by Bossip Staff

Without Joe Camel. Damon Dash is about to disappear into oblivion it seems without his former partner Jay-Z. Damon attended the premiere of ‘The Good Shepherd’ last night in NYC with his fashion designer wife Rachel Roy.

Dash recently to Village Voice:

I’m really taking a break from music and focusing on things like Blocksavvy (Urban Myspace), Pro-keds, and my wife’s line, the Rachel Roy collection.”

After fumbling with America magazine and other failed ventures, Damon is wise to take it slow before he is broke. Based on Joe Camel’s recent successes and proven business acumen, he wasn’t lying when he said ‘I am The ROC”. The Jay-Z gravy train appears to be over for Damon Dash.

Jay-Z Rides Against Jim Jones, Damon Dash, and Tyra Bank’s Hairline-Brooklyn High

Posted by Bossip Staff

Jay-Z refers to a fight which was caught on video where Jim Jones and Camron were chased out of Rucker Park.

The track sounds kinda weak and we can likely expect a Dipset diss track going a little harder within the next few days. Jay-Z sounds desperate addressing Jim Jones after asking “WHO IS JIM JONES” on a recent Hot 97 interview. Jay-Z just helped Jim Jones sell a lot more records by going after him, Jay-Z looks to have taken the bait from Jimmy. Spotted at Realtalk NY. All in all, Jay-Z is too big and too reputable to even be addressing Jim Jones.

UPDATE: Jim Jones speaking on Jay’s new diss track via AHH, Jim says he is putting his response out tonight:

AllHipHop.com: Let’s cut to the chase. What do you think of Jay’s answer [“Brooklyn High”] ?

Jim Jones: Personally? It’s a couple feelings. To get Jay-Z to bite the bullet was a hell of a chess game, ‘cause he thinks he’s always playin’ chess. So right now, [I got a] check for his ass, ‘cause he sold for the bait. He said Jim Jones’ name a couple weeks ago on HOT 97, that was his first mistake, nobody ever thought he’d do that – If I’m supposedly not on his level, when he’s supposed to be this rich dude and such this gangsta. [laughs] That was his first mistake. And then he bit the bullet and did the remix to “We Fly High” [titled “Brooklyn High”], which I appreciate. He did two verses, and that registers as BDS, ‘cause it’s over two minutes. [Editor’s Note: BDS is Broadcast System Data, which records the frequency of a song’s play on a radio station] So what I’m gonna do is, I’m gonna put my verse to it, then we got the official Jim Jones [and] Jay-Z remix. He ain’t even spittin’ right on that joint, so he kinda disappointed me ‘cause I thought he would’ve came harder. But for the people, I’m gonna put my verse on it tonight, so we gonna have the official Jay-Z [and] Jim Jones remix, and I’m gonna have it tomorrow. The BDS is already runnin’, so I appreciate you Jay, givin’ me extra BDS. That’ll probably take me up another thousand spins or something like that.

Random Pics: Beyonce, Denzel Washington, Damon Dash

More pics of Beyonce in Monaco. A good shot of her backs but the 80′s scrunch spandex is a hot mess.

Beyonce looking kinda hookerish, like she is walking the track. Still manages to look cute here.

The Black father appears for the cameras. Most likely after contacting Lizzie Grubman and the papparazi, Dame takes his daughter Ava for a bike ride for some positive press. SMH

Damon Dash Does Media Drive-By on Jay-Z

From June Issue of King Magazine:

My best friend did some sh*t to me that I never thought in a million years he would do,” Dame said in King. “It was straight war in there. Either you on Jay’s side or Dame’s side.”

“The perception is that Def Jam bought Roc-A-Fella. Jay’s the president of Def Jam. I’m Bin Laden. You could either be with Bin Laden or be with [Jay-Z]. … You know what I’m saying?”

“I don’t respect what he did, but I’m not gonna let that wash away all the other stuff we did do,” he said. “For the most part, he’s a good n-gga.”
