Fantasia gave her last performance for the Broadway show, “The Color Purple” this past weekend and Patti Labelle was there to give her a standing ovation.
Damn, we wonder why Fantasia’s giving up that steady money so soon. Her contract must be up. Right.

A rep for Fantasia states that the rumors of her being pregnant with Young Dro’s baby is false:
“Fantasia is not pregnant and the Internet rumors are entirely untrue. It is true that she has missed some performances because she has gotten sick from time to time over the nine months, but doing eight shows a week is a lot so she missed a few.”
Halle Berry and Jennifer Lopez’s reps denied pregnancy claims as well and those broads are almost about to pop.

Fantasia has missed nearly 50 performances of her Broadway hit The Color Purple and has already admitted that the role of Celie took a lot out of her. It’s a damn shame when fans drive from far and wide to see her perform and are disappointed when she is a no-show.
Sounds like Young Dro is tearing that ass up on a regular, blowing her back out to the point that she’s missing performances.

There is some confirmation on the status of Fantasia’s love life. Sandra Rose is confirming from a reliable source that Fantasia and rapper Young Dro are indeed a couple, in a relationship, etc. and the two spend a lot of time together.
They look good together and actually seem like they would enjoy each other’s company. There’s nothing better than relationship where you can share everything from loving shoulder leans to tattoo advice.

Fantasia gives commentary on her role in “The Color Purple”:
“Miss Celie takes a lot out of me. I’m being told everyday that I’m ugly. … you can’t play the part if you don’t kind of put yourself in her shoes and live her life. So it’s like, I carry that stuff with me. I put myself in her shoes in having (daughter) Zion at such a young age and dropping out of school and being in just bad relationships and disrespected. I just feel like God won’t put too much on me than I can bear. As long as I feel like I’m touching somebody … as long as I’m blessing somebody, I know that I’ll be blessed.”

With her success and rave reviews from her role as “Celie” in the broadway production of The Color Purple, Fantasia Barrino is in negotiations to star in another big musical based on the life of Ada (Bricktop) Smith. Bricktop rose to fame as an African-American nightlife queen in the 1920′s in Paris, France.
Via NY Daily News:
Bricktop’s is a great story. She rose from humble beginnings in Alderson, W. Va., to become the toast of Paris in the Roaring ’20s, where she was first employed overseas by Cole Porter to teach dances such as the Charleston at his parties. By 1929, she owned her own nightclubs such as The Music Box, Le Grand Duc and her famous Chez Bricktop, where she entertained Porter, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Porter wrote “Miss Otis Regrets” for her. She even worked with Josephine Baker and Mabel Mercer.
The 20′s are a good look for Fantasia, those Flappers rocked the finger waves and shimmy dresses tough. The negotitations are still in the works and the show hits Broadway in 2009. In the meantime, Fantasia is still on the roster for The Color Purple. Okay, Tasia, way to keep a steady job…keep up the good work!

This one might be a little easy, but try to give Fantasia an “A” for effort…
Kelly Rowland attended the 4th Annual Glamour Women Of The Year Awards, Rosario Dawson was at the 21st Annual Spring Benefit for the East Harlem Tutorial Program, and Fantasia made an appearance at the 63rd Annual Theatre World Awards.
