Marc Anthony Officially Files For Divorce From Jennifer Lopez

We smell a nasty custody battle a’comingg:

Marc Anthony is saying adios to wife Jennifer Lopez. The singer, 43, filed for divorce in L.A. Superior Court Monday, TMZ reports. Anthony is asking for joint legal and physical custody of twins Max and Emme, 4. He also wants each party to pay for their own legal fees.

The couple announced their separation in July 2011, though Anthony did not list a specific date of separation in his filing. Though one source told Us Weekly Anthony “hit the roof” when he saw photos of Lopez, 42, and their children bonding with her much younger dancer beau, Casper Smart, 24, on Thanksgiving, the two have since mended fences professionally. They will perform a live duet during Q’VIVA! The Chosen’s May 26 stage debut at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Lopez — who pulls double duty as a judge on American Idol — seems happier than ever with Smart by her side. “He’s adorable. But you already see that,” she recently told Vogue. “He really is [sweet]. He’s a good egg. I don’t want to talk about it too much. It’s my private thing.”

Anthony, meanwhile, began dating Venezuelan model Shannon de Lima in January; she was by his side at the ASCAP Founders Awards in late March. “Everyone had a beautiful night,” his rep told Us at the time. “It was special for Marc.”

Jennifer Lopez celebrated her dancer beau Casper Smart’s 25th birthday on Friday with an intimate dinner party – and quite a big surprise. “Jennifer had planned a fun day to celebrate Casper’s birthday,” a source tells PEOPLE. And the day began with a four-wheeled birthday present: a customized white Dodge Ram truck.

Lopez “knew that Casper really wanted a truck, and Casper was very excited about the generous gift,” says the source. The birthday boy even brought his present along for the celebration. “Casper was so excited about his new truck that he decided to drive it to dinner,” adds the source. “She was smiling about Casper’s excitement.”

Wow. Well at least ole boy makes her happy.

Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart in new video “Dance Again”

They’ve been coy about their relationship in public. But the romance certainly seems hot and heavy between Jennifer Lopez and boyfriend Casper Smart, judging by images from her new music video.

The pop superstar and American Idol judge, 42, has her way with her dancer beau, 24, in the video for “Dance Again” – he’s seen shirtless and blindfolded, with the words “Love is blind” written across the black cloth. The steamy video premieres this Thursday night on Idol.

“There is a lot of love between [them],” a close source tells PEOPLE of the couple. “He treats her like a queen.”

We bet he does treat her like a queen…she got him rolling around in Bentleys, taking expensive azz vacations, and the whole nine.

Ya girl Nicki Minaj was beefin it up and letting it all hang out on “American Idol” Thursday!

Nicki Minaj both busted out of her low-cut top and started a verbal war with Jennifer Lopez while appearing on “American Idol” last night.

The “Superbass” rapper appeared on “Idol” to promote her sophomore album “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,” which will be released on Tuesday. But while Minaj delivered an upbeat performance of her new song, “Starships,” she couldn’t help but raise a little trouble.

Minaj arrived on the “Idol” stage, exiting from a pink and purple UFO. The singer wore a blonde wig, and showed off her ample curves in a rainbow colored bra top and skirt. As Minaj danced, her chest bounced heavily. At one point in the performance, the rapper turned around, appearing to tuck herself back into her top.

“That was fun,” host Ryan Seacrest said, interviewing the star as she finished her song. “There were parts of that performance that were a little high-risk, if you know what I’m saying.”

Minaj sounded embarrassed grumbling, “I know.” But she quickly bounced back, making a pitch to be a judge on the show.

“I was hoping maybe I could come back and be a guest judge,” Minaj said. “JLo, can you scoot over a little bit? Let me get up in there.”

“Hey, hey,” responded Lopez, appearing taken aback. “I don’t know if there’s enough room for both of us.”

While the exchange appeared a touch heated, Minaj later explained to The Hollywood Reporter that she was not actually gunning to replace Lopez.

“She didn’t seem to be having it but she gonna have it!” Minaj said, before clarifying that she had been kidding. “No, actually, I love JLo. I love what she’s done for pop culture. I have nothing but respect for her and we were just joking around … Something like ‘American Idol,’ it’s iconic and has been around for so long and created so many stars. I would love to [guest judge] but as far as sitting down every week, I can’t.”

Minaj’s “American Idol” performance no doubt soothed any fans who worried that her new album would be too dark after her bizarre Grammys performance of “Roman Holiday,” which showed the exorcism of her alter ego “Roman Zolanski” and was called “vulgar” by the Catholic League. Minaj’s “Starships” is pure pop music confection, much more in line with her hit “Superbass.”

Sounds like much ado about nada if you ask us. Are you feelin’ Nicki’s song “Starships”? Something tells us it’s not gonna be quite as big as “Superbass”

Something tells us this VOGUE interview wasn’t the “Smartest” idea. Jennifer Lopez covers the April issue and inside you get a pretty good picture of J.Lo and the three main men in her life (soon to be ex Marc Anthony, manager Benny Medina and new boo Casper Smart). Check out the excerpts and photos below:

On Her Relationship With Marc Anthony:

Anthony peeks his head into the dressing room with his name on it and says, “Where is she?” He eyes the door across the hall and says to no one in particular, “She in here?” He puts his ear to the door and then gently raps on it with his knuckle. “Security,” he says with a devilish smirk, and then nothing. So he knocks harder. “Security!” When he hears that telltale giggle, a big grin spreads across his face, and he opens the door and slips inside.

Lopez and Anthony are here today on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank for a taping of The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote their new Latin talent show, ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen, which will premiere on Fox in early March. Lest you think it’s all smiles for the cameras but war behind the scenes, the two spend the next hour huddled in her dressing room, still friends after all these months. Indeed, in one of the clips from ¡Q’Viva! that they share with Ellen, the two of them bicker like, well, an old married couple, and Lopez cracks that they are the new Sonny and Cher, a knowing joke that grows more apt the further it sinks in.

Seven years ago, at Lopez’s Vogue shoot, I noticed that Anthony hung around the set both days, drinking cans of beer and chain-smoking Newports. Lopez is a famous teetotaler. How is this going to work? I thought. When I mention this to her, she cracks up. “He’s still doing it! Look, we are total opposites that way. I’m used to that from growing up where I did. The men kind of drink beer and smoke cigarettes, and women kind of like . . . don’t. But those things were not the issue so much. It became about something else. Without going into detail . . . it’s just really, really sad. And look, we are still going through it, and it’s emotional sometimes and difficult. We’re still friends—and we’re parents. But it’s going to take time.” She pauses. “It’s tough. But for the most part, I feel very proud of the way we’re handling it. I really do. We are doing the best we can for the kids. What you saw today, on Ellen, it’s very dignified and trying to be above all the emotions and pain that come along with a divorce and a family breaking apart. This is grown-up stuff. It’s real, serious, grown-up stuff.”

Sounds like it’s not as bad as we thought, but it still ain’t all good…
