Here’s a sneak peek of Ashanti’s interview with Page Six Magazine where she opens up about her career, future wedding plans and her respect for Rihanna:
On finding it hard to watch artists like Fergie and Rihanna fill her void:
“I’d hear a song on the radio and wish mine was next. But I respect a lot of the artists who’ve come along since I was out, especially Rihanna. She’s smart and she’s worked the business instead of having the business work her.”
Back in action now, Ashanti is even more driven, and not just with career. Having two children with her boyfriend and fellow artist Nelly, she says thoughts are turning to marriage.
“I’ve been planning my wedding in my head since I was a little girl, and it just keeps getting more elaborate. I’m a huge fan of the Caribbean, so if I don’t get married in New York, it would have to be on the beach.”
We’re assuming that when Page Six mentions the she and Nelly have two kids together, they’re referring to his son and daughter from a previous relationship But then again, she was unusually chubby at some point a few years back.

Nelly has been hand picked to be the very first spokesmodel for Sean Jean Underwear:
“I have been a big fan of Diddy and the Sean John clothing line for years,” Nelly told [said]. “So, when they asked me to work with them, it was a real honor. I hope my fans will enjoy this campaign as much as I did shooting it.”
Sean “Diddy” Combs, founder of Sean John, hopes Nelly’s involvement will help boost Sean John’s earnings, which are pegged at about $525 million annually.
“I have known Nelly for many years and I really admire his work. To me, Nelly is the quintessential definition of the Sean John man,” Combs elaborated. “He has the attitude, the swagger, and most of all the physique that our customers can both aspire and relate to. And let’s be honest, all of the ladies out there are going to be thanking us for this campaign.”
Wow. Diddy sounds pretty enthusiastic about Nelly appearing in his undies. Sounds like the ladies aren’t the only ones who will enjoy this new campaign. SMH.

So long P. Diddy, Diddy, Sean John, and Puffy. Sean Combs has started using his Puff Daddy namesake again – over a decade after he achieved stardom with the moniker.
‘They call me Puff Daddy… he’s back,’ the mogul raps on the remix of O’Neal McKnight’s single ‘Check Your Coat.’ (McKnight is Combs’ former stylist.) Yeah you heard me right – I said Puff Daddy,’ he continues. ‘I’m about to back on that Puff Daddy sh*t. Combs also posted on his MySpace page: ‘This is your boy Puff Daddy!!! Yes Puff Daddy.’”
Will this mf make up his mind already?? Sean Combs, Puff Daddy, Sean John, P. Diddy, Diddy, Puffy Daddy really knows how to stay in the know. We’ve decided to stop f*kin around and just call him by his true title: SMH. No, not Shakin’ My Head, but Shameless Media Ho. Trife.

Puffy hosted a party in Ledyard, Connecticut this weekend for the opening of the MGM Grand at Foxwoods. We hear that Cassie was in the place with him but Diddy made sure her ass was hidden so no photographers could get to her. It’s a damn shame they gotta stay creepin like that. And just it was all good just a week ago when he was sportin around Kim Porter at the Hollywood Star ceremony fronting like they were a family. SMH.

Ashanti says her video is not about Nelly:
“It’s not!” She explains, “I wrote that record last summer … The song is just about real life. It’s for every woman who has gone through it. Of course I’ve snooped! Before [sidekicks] came out, I was snooping through regular cell phones, Skytel, everything! Whatever he had out, I was all in it!”
And as for the current status of her relationship with Nelly? “We’re really, really good friends.”
There goes that really, really good friends thing again. They know that relationship was a publicity hoax anyway. SMH.
