Ray J Hospitalized After Billboard Awards

According to TMZ Reports:

Ray J crashed and burned the morning after the Billboard Music Awards … and landed in the hospital … TMZ has learned.

We’re told Ray J was extremely upset after his confrontation with Whitney Houston’s family — notably Pat Houston — during the awards ceremony. On Monday morning, someone went into Ray J’s hotel room and realized the singer was “out of it” and couldn’t get out of bed.

We’re told Ray J was extremely disoriented and was immediately taken to the hospital by ambulance.

As for what happened … it’s looking like a combo of exhaustion and dehydration. Ray J had just returned from a quick, 32-hour round trip to China for business and when he landed he immediately drove 4 hours to Las Vegas for the awards show.

Ray J is still in the hospital. No word on when he’ll be released.

Hopefully homie is ok, and just needs some rest. We know Whitney’s family doesn’t have him shook like that.

Joan Rivers’ New Book Has Crass Jokes Regarding Whitney Houston’s Death

Why can’t people just let Whitney R.I.P.???

Comedian Joan Rivers is taking some heat for two Whitney Houston jokes that reportedly appear in her upcoming book, “I Hate Everyone … Starting With Me.” The Village Voice reports that in a section on travel, Rivers writes: “I hate Houston … it’s crawling with bugs. Oh, wait, that’s Whitney Houston; I’m sorry, my bad. (Can I just mention that Whitney looked fabulous at the Grammys? She was in mahogany from head to toe.)”

Houston, 48, was found dead in her Beverly Hills, Calif. hotel bathtub on Feb. 11, the day before the Grammys. The jokes shouldn’t be a surprise to those who read the book’s description on the website of publisher Penguin, which reads, “uncensored and totally uninhibited (Rivers gives) the best of her worst to First Ladies, closet cases, hypocrites, Hollywood, feminists, and overrated historical figures,” and goes on to call the book an “honest, unabashedly hilarious love letter to the hater in all of us.”

Also in February, Rivers was criticized by some for snarky remarks she made about Houston’s wardrobe on the E! show “Fashion Police.” According to Women’s Wear Daily, Rivers said, “Am I sorry (Houston) died? Of course I am, for God’s sake.” She also said “If Angelina Jolie died tomorrow, I would still say she was anorexic.”
After Houston’s death, Rivers tweeted, “Whitney Houston. What a sad tragedy — the end of the life of an incredible talent. RIP to an amazing singer and legend.”
Rivers’ book will be published June 5.

Whitney Houston‘s sister-in-law Pat Houston is waging war against Bobbi Kristina because she desperately wants to accept Whitney’s Billboard Music Award on her behalf and only BK is standing in her way.

Sources closes to the situation tell TMZ … Pat is trying to force herself into the spotlight by accepting Whitney’s Millenium Award at the ceremony in Las Vegas tonight … and producers of the show are pissed.

We’re told the show really wants BK to accept the award and make the speech on the late singer’s behalf … but Pat won’t stand for it and is making life hell for them as she tries to worm her way into the segment.

Sources tell us … the show’s producers feel BK is the best choice to represent Whitney’s legacy and they’re convinced Pat is simply exploiting the situation to get publicity for her upcoming reality show.

Bobby Brown Debuts New Single “Don’t Let Me Die” Dedicated To Whitney Houston

People will call it calculated and opportunistic, Bobby Brown releasing a single about Whitney Houston three months after his ex-wife’s death.

But then you consider the lyrics and depth of “Don’t Let Me Die,” which Bobby performed on Wednesday’s episode of “Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” and this is Bobby at his realest and rawest, the New Edition bad-boy humbled.

Brown stood onstage Wednesday, bathed in blue light, singing about the woman he loved, the woman he lost.
“I didn’t realize that every breath I took was from you,” he sang. “You were my air.”

Bobby and Whitney were married from 1992 until 2007. The couple had one daughter, Bobbi Kristina, who’s now 19.

The marriage was marred by erratic behavior and drug abuse.

The two split up. Things unraveled. Bobby drifted away from his ex-wife and daughter.

Eventually, the drug abuse claimed the “Queen of Pop.” Following Whitney’s death in February, some of her relatives didn’t want Brown at her funeral.

Bobby was invited, but left over a seating snafu.

Maybe music was the proper venue for Brown’s goodbye, anyway. The lyrics for “Don’t Let Me Die” address his missteps and stumbles.

Yes, Bobby loved Whitney. Sure, he’s probably still hurting. But something about this just smells WRONG!

Raffles Van Exel Denies Selling Drugs And Selling Whitney Houstons Coffin Picture

According to TMZ reports:

One of Whitney Houston’s close friends — a mysterious man who’s been widely accused of supplying the singer with coke before her death — is declaring war on media outlets that ran with the drug story … and now, he’s on a crusade to clear his name.

The friend — an enigmatic celebrity sidekick named Raffles van Exel — tells us, he is “neither the architect nor the culprit of the sudden demise of Whitney Houston.”

Raffles was with Whitney in the hours before she died at the Beverly Hilton hotel in February — and there were widespread reports strongly insinuating he was the singer’s secret cocaine supplier.

There were other reports suggesting Van Exel was also the one who snapped the infamous picture of Whitney’s body in a coffin … and sold it to a tabloid newspaper.

But for the first time ever, Van Exel is adamantly denying all the reports — and has begun taking aggressive legal steps to save his reputation.

Van Exel has started firing off cease and desist letters to media outlets reporting any nefarious connection between him and Whitney’s death — demanding full retractions asap … or else.

Van Exel — who describes himself as a “private consultant to the stars” — has also been linked to Michael Jackson around the time of the singer’s 2005 molestation trial, as well as jazz legend George Benson.

Somehow we find it VERY hard to believe this Raffles character. Who the hell names their kid “Raffles” anyway?? Did his daddy win the chance to chop his momma down at a carnival??? SMH

On May 20th at The Billboard Awards, we’ll find out. Bobbi Kristina’s hopes to become a singer will come true when she hits the stage at the award show. Bobbi has been tapped to participate in a musical tribute to her late mother, Whitney Houston:

R&B divas Brandy, Monica and Gladys Knight will present with Chris Brown, Usher and Justin Bieber giving special performances. Though details are sparse as to what Kristina’s role will be, it’s sure to be an emotional one.

The announcement of her contribution to the event also comes with the news that Houston’s family, including her mother, daughter, brother and sister-in-law will also be the stars of a new reality TV series entitled The Houston Family Chronicles. The show will document the grieving family across 10 one-hour episodes on the Lifetime network to air later this year.

Meanwhile, the newly engaged Bobby Brown told Billboard Friday that he has not heard of the show. “I haven’t heard about that and I definitely question it,” he said. “But I know my daughter will make the right decisions in her life. She was brought up right.” Brown, who starred in the 2005 series Being Bobby Brown is also working on his own reality show.

“The Houston Family Chronicles was already in the works at the time of Whitney’s death. [Her] unexpected passing … certainly affects the direction of the show,” Pat, the wife of Whitney’s brother Gary said. “However it is my hope that others will be enlightened as they watch our family heal and move forward.”

While we applaud Bobbi’s courage to be able participate in this tribute, we wonder how her ummm… singing ability will stand up next to the likes of Gladys Knight and Monica. Will she be able to stand the pressure of not necessarily sounding like her mother but at least meeting her standard of vocal greatness? Jesus be an auto-tune.
