Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle took a page out of Dennis Rodman’s book during his team’s loss to Oklahoma City Wednesday when he kicked the ball into the stands out of frustration. Carlisle claims he was trying to kick it back to the referee, but he’s “not a very good kicker.”

DWade is normally smiling, happy, and congenial, what the HELL happened?!?

Not even the presence of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony could move the sides closer to an NBA labor agreement yesterday. And it may have moved them further apart in the cordiality department.

Wade shouted at commissioner David Stern during the lowlight of a tempestuous five-hour negotiation that nearly ended the proceedings prematurely. The talks produced no deal and could have created ill feelings stemming from the Wade incident. Stern holds grudges.

Players Association executive director Billy Hunter Jr. said he does not expect an agreement by this weekend.

A person debriefed on the meeting confirmed Wade got ticked off when Stern, during his spiel, started pointing his finger at Wade.

“Don’t point your finger at me,” the Heat superstar screamed at Stern. “I’m not a child.”
ESPN reported Wade, James and Anthony threatened to leave the talks early before Hunter talked them into staying another hour.

“There are times when it’s contentious,” union president Derek Fisher said, without referring to a specific incident. “Guys are very passionate about their opinions. There are also times you really talk and show the type of professional respect. When you have as much at stake as we all do, you have to expect some ups and downs within the meetings.”

Seems to us like there are way more “downs” than “ups”. According to reports the two sides are nowhere near reaching an agreement and if there are hard feelings and yelling then it doesn’t appear that anything productive can be accomplished.

Joining Wade, James and Anthony were superstars Chris Paul, Kevin Durant, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, and they all were vocal. The owners had 10 of the 12 members of their negotiating com mittee, including Knicks owner James Dolan, on hand plus Miami owner Mickey Arison.

“It helps the process to have [owners] hear di rectly from their franchise players who mean most to our game,” Fisher said. “We encourage our guys to speak and express their thoughts and ask questions. That’s what they do when they come in the room.”

Fisher held a press conference flanked by about 15 of the players, but only he spoke. The players looked less than happy to be there.

Anthony will miss today’s powwow as he heads to Winston Salem, N.C., to play in a charity game with Paul. Several players are expected, but it is unknown if Wade will return.

We just need these guys (owners AND players!) to get their lives together and reach an agreement so we can have basketball this winter!

Gloria Govan posted a recap of the first episode of “Basketball Wives: L.A.” and despite acting like she was gonna kick Malaysia’s a$$ for messing with her sister, she actually admits both women were at fault.

Gloria recapped the whole thing on her Vh1 blog. Here’s what she had to say:

My move to LA has so far been nothing but fun. After spending a year in Miami, it’s so nice to be home, close to my family and real friends.

Meeting new people is never easy. Jackie, Imani, Laura and I have a few years under our belt. Kimsha and I just spent a year together on the same team, but I’m still the only person she knows. Malaysia and Draya are definitely the “freshmen” on the team. these new girls are not getting off to a good start. Malaysia is hard to pinpoint. I understand defending where you come from, but it’s okay if someone has another opinion about it. Sitting at Pink Taco, if the conversation wasn’t about her and her jewelry line for kids, she completely shut off. I think at one point she even feel asleep. Lol. Tip for Malaysia: Rolling your eyes and turning up your lips isn’t going to get you very far with these girls.

Pure comedy! Why did somebody write in our comments that Malaysia got her teeth fixed mid-episode. Why???

In the days since the fight between Tami Roman and Meeka Claxton on “Basketball Wives” aired on Vh1, Meeka has been making her rounds doing quite the media blitz. And now it seems it’s Tami’s turn.

Tami phoned up TT Torrez’s Power 92.1 show in Richmond and gave her take on the whole escapade, including how Meeka got popped in the first place, how she feels about Suzie’s role as “instigator,” the letter Meeka wrote Shaunie and why Evelyn waited for the trip to Rome to confront Jennifer. She also says she doesn’t like it that the other ladies don’t get along with Royce. Evelyn also speaks on the lawsuit that Meeka has filed, saying she hasn’t been served with any paperwork. BUT she does say that “Basketball Wives” is coming back for Season 4 — and she says if Meeka is asked to return you can COUNT HER OUT!!!!

“As we’re having this discussion all I see, which I have asked her not to do, was her getting ready to get up…ya know with her hand. Don’t put your hand up because I don’t know what you’re going to do. I don’t know if you’re going to swing at me. So I basically, you know, I have a defense mechanism that has always been apart of who I am and when I saw that hand…I snapped cause I’m like I don’t know what you’re going to do and I had to defend myself so that’s what y’all saw last night.”
