A State Supreme Court judge has ordered the Buffalo Fire Department and City of Buffalo to pay more than $2.5 million dollars to 12 firefighters in a discrimination case.

Thirteen white firefighters claimed the City and department allowed promotion lists to expire so they could promote more African Americans.

The firefighters awards were based on how far their promotions would have taken them.

Additionally, the emotional damages that were awarded ranged from $20,000 to $30,000 for each firefighter.

One firefighter who was part of the lawsuit was not awarded any damages because the court felt he did not have enough evidence to support his claim.

Attorney Andrew Fleming, who represented the firefighters, said Anthony Hynes had already retired and was collecting his pension by the time the lawsuit was filed.

“Essentially the judge ruled that Hynes took his own remedy by leaving,” said Fleming. “It’s a disappointment because Chief Hynes was indeed passed over for a promotion, and he was a great servant, public servant for the city.”

City Spokesman Mike DeGeorge said Wednesday afternoon that city officials were in the process of reviewing the decision. He said there is a possibility the city will appeal the ruling.

$2.5 milli seems like a lot but divide that between 12 people’s loss in potential salary and a little extra thrown in for emotional distress. Does it seem fair to you?

Kris Humphries is still trying to make it clear to his soon-to-be ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, that he doesn’t want any money from her, but wants the divorce granted on his terms, including admitting that the marriage was really one big SHAM! Via Radaronline:

Even though the couple does have an iron clad pre-nup, Kim’s camp is open to some financial negotiation to end the marriage amicably, however Kris’ lawyer has conveyed to Kim’s attorneys that he isn’t seeking a cash settlement.

“There have been informal settlement talks going on between Kim and Kris’ respective lawyers. Team Humphries has made it crystal clear though that Kris isn’t seeking any money from Kim. Kris doesn’t want one penny from her. His lawyers have said the only terms acceptable for a settlement would be if Kim agrees to Kris’ contention that the marriage was a fraud. There is a stand-off at this point because Kim will never agree to that, she says the marriage wasn’t a fraud. It just didn’t work out,” a source said.

Pay yo bills Bow Wow… Pay yo bills! Kinda crazy that the kid with the money sign tattoo who is always flossin’ his stacks may now end up behind bars for his alleged failure to pay a tour bus company what he owes them.

According to TMZ reports:

Bow Wow has avoided a civil lawsuit for long enough — and now a judge in Georgia has ordered he be arrested and held in custody until produces documents and information to the other side.

Bow Wow was ordered by a Tennessee court back in 2009 to pay almost $100,000 to a tour bus company for allegedly not paying his bill. The company then took the case to Georgia to try and get the court where Bow Wow lives to enforce the judgment.

He was ordered to produce documents in his home state regarding the lawsuit, which he never did. As a result, the tour company filed a motion to have the rapper held in contempt.

Finally back in October, the judge granted the motion and ordered Bow Wow be arrested and held until he produces the necessary documents the tour bus company asked for.

Bow Wow has not been taken into custody so far, or responded to the lawsuit.

Calls to Bow Wow’s reps were not returned.

Back in October? Sounds like they ain’t even lookin’ for him. Them tour bus folks might wanna holla at Dog the Bounty Hunter at this point. SMH.

According to TMZ reports:

Drake is finally firing back at the disgruntled female vocalist featured on his hit song “Marvin’s Room” … telling TMZ he NEVER threatened the woman when she complained about payment.

Earlier this week — a woman named Ericka Lee filed a lawsuit against Drake, in which she claimed she co-wrote the song but never got proper credit.

In her suit, Lee claims Drake warned her that if she didn’t back off about payment … he had “people” who would take care of “issues like her.”

But Drake’s rep says, “This claim is entirely without merit and our client has not engaged in any wrongful conduct.”

The rep also claims Lee consented to have her voice used in “Marvin’s Room” without compensation … adding, “Drake tried for months to resolve the matter amicably, and he now looks forward to being vindicated in court.”

In her suit, Lee claims she and Drake were engaged in a romantic relationship for more than a year between 2010 and 2011 … but sources tell us the rapper is adamant there was never a relationship between the two.

Guess chicks like Ericka Lee are why Drake has so many “Trust Issues”…

According to TMZ reports:

A Florida man has filed a lawsuit against Newt Gingrich and his security team — claiming he was roughed up outside the Florida Republican Presidential Primary earlier this week … because he was carrying a sign supporting another candidate.

In a lawsuit filed yesterday in U.S. District court in Florida, Edward Dillard claims he was just minding his own business on January 31 when Newt and his wife came strolling up to the polling place. Dillard claims he was standing outside of a canopy which had been set up with a microphone stand, when Newt and Callista came right up to him and shook his hand.

Dillard claims Newt then noticed his Ron Paul t-shirt and “immediately turned his back” to him and went on to greet other people. That’s when Dillard claims several of Gingrich’s security team came up to him and tried to “intimidate him into moving from the spot.”

Dillard — who says he was wearing open-toed sandals — then claims one of the agents “lifted his heeled shoe over Dillard’s right foot and dug the back of it into his skin, twisting it side-to-side like he was stomping out a cigarette, causing a fracture to Dillard’s right foot.”

After a minor tussle, Dillard claims the guy who stomped his foot shouted to other members of his team, “Everyone step on his toes!”

Dillard is suing Newt, the campaign and the security firm for assault and battery and seeking unspecified damages.

No comment so far from Gingrich campaign.

According to Radaronline:

Hip-hop/rap superstar Drake, is being sued by an ex-girlfriend for breach of fiduciary duties over a song the jilted lover she says she helped him write, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

The court docs, obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com, allege that Drake and Ericka Lee dated from 2010-2011, and during that time: “They traded poems, song lyrics and discussed untertaking creative projects together. Lee candidly shared her life story and creative ideas with Drake and trusted him as a confidant, lover and friend.”

Lee says she helped write Drake’s recent hit, Marvin’s Room, but she wasn’t credited as being a co-writer. Drake allegedly sent text messages to Ericka, which seem to credit her with the hit. “U basically made that song,” and “it’s s**t without you,” the lawsuit claims he wrote.

The documents go on to state that Drake offered Lee a $50,000 payout “to go away and not file a lawsuit against him…to date, the youtube version of the song has garnered 38 million views…selling over 500,000 individual downloads on the Internet.”

According to TMZ reports:

Joe Francis — the mastermind behind “Girls Gone Wild” — is sending Madonna a cease and desist letter, threatening that he’ll take legal action if she sings the song from her new album — titled “Girls Gone Wild” — at the Super Bowl.

TMZ has obtained the letter that Francis has sent to Madonna and her “co-conspirators.” Francis’ lawyer threatens to sue all of them for attempting to get a “free ride on the valuable consumer goodwill and brand recognition” of Joe’s famous trademark.

Francis’ lawyer makes it clear: “Your misappropriation of my clients’ trademark will not be tolerated.”

But Francis is willing to cut a deal with Madonna, provided she agrees to the following terms:

– Negotiate an immediate licensing agreement for the use of Joe’s trademark
– Account for the number of times Madonna has already used the trademark
– NOT PERFORM THE SONG AT THE SUPER BOWL

Joe thinks NBC and the NFL are conspiring with Madonna, so the letter went to them as well.

Joe’s lawyer is demanding a response by 5 PM PT today … or else.

According to TMZ reports:

Khloe Kardashian just launched her first counter-attack after a transgender woman sued her for assault — insisting she didn’t do anything wrong during the 2009 street scuffle … she merely acted in self-defense.

Khloe filed the response in L.A. County Superior Court, claiming Chantal Spears (right) deserved what she got — because she provoked Khloe into getting physical.

According to Khloe’s response, the reality star’s conduct “was reasonably necessary for her self-defense and safety.”

As we first reported, Chantal sued Khloe in December, claiming Khloe attacked her out of nowhere outside a Hollywood nightclub in 2009 … for telling Lamar he was “too young to be married.”

So far, no word back from Chantal.

Transgender or not, physically, “Chantal” has man strength, so all things considered Khloe beat up a guy and is getting sued.

Ain’t that a post-surgical beyotch?!

SHOCKER! Courtney Love is a horrible mother… is anyone surprised???

Courtney Love is described as an unstable maternal figure, in newly released deposition papers filed by her daughter in 2009 seeking a restraining order against the troubled rocker.

Frances Bean Cobain, now 19, says Love’s wreckless behavior even caused the death the family dog and cat.

The cat died after getting entangled in Love’s messy piles of ‘Etsy fabrics, boxes of paperwork, trash and other possessions,” according to the court papers, while the dog swallowed several of Love’s stash of prescription pills.

In order to ensure that no other pets would fall victim to Love’s pill-popping habits, Cobain included her dog, Uncle Fester, on the restraining order which was granted.

Among those Love, 47, was ordered to avoid contact with include Cobain, Uncle Fester, Cobains’ grandmother and her aunt.

In the papers, originally obtained by The Fix, Cobain also laments Love’s worrying drug use.

“(She) has taken drugs for as long as I can remember,” Cobain said. “She basically exists now on … Xanax, Adderall, Sonata and Abilify, sugar and cigarettes. She rarely eats … She often falls asleep in her bed while she is smoking, and I am constantly worried that she will start a fire (which she has done at least three times) that will threaten our lives.”

Cobain initially filed the restraining order against her mommy dearest in the L.A. Superior Court in December 2009 following a physical fight between the two.

At the time, Cobain spoke out about another bizarre incident that occurred several years before. Cobain claimed Love dragged her to the home of Love’s former boyfriend, James Barber.

“She took me in a taxi to his house in the middle of the night, and from outside the house, in her bare feet, she screamed at him, threw rocks at the house, and threatened to burn his house down,” Cobain said in the sworn statement.

“His children were inside the house, but that did not stop my mother.”

Mother and daughter have had a rocky relationship since the restraining order was granted.

But Cobain is trying to move on with her life. She became engaged to The Ramgles singer Isaiah Silva in October and they are looking forward to their upcoming nuptials.

“Getting to spend the rest of my life loving my best friend makes me the luckiest woman in the world,” Cobain wrote on her Facebook at the time.

Poor lil Frances… Courtney claims she’s clean these days but being that she’s still batshyte crazy there’s no telling if that’s worth anything.

A Florida man who is being sued by the parents of a 23-year-old man killed in a car crash adopted his 42-year-old girlfriend in what attorneys — and the judge — call an unprecedented move to shield his assets, the Palm Beach Post reports.

John Goodman, the founder of the International Polo Club, filed the paperwork to adopt Heather Laruso Hutchins in October, legally entitling her to a third of the assets in a trust fund he set up for his two biological children.

He is being sued by Lili and William Wilson, whose son, Scott Patrick Wilson, was killed when Goodman ran a stop sign and hit the 23-year-old. Tests taken after the crash revealed he had a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit, according to the newspaper.

“The Court cannot ignore reality or the practical impact of what Mr. Goodman has now done,” Circuit Judge Glenn Kelley wrote in a legal order, according to the Palm Beach Post. “The Defendant has effectively diverted a significant portion of the assets of the children’s trust to a person with whom he is intimately involved at a time when his personal assets are largely at risk in this case.”

Kelly had previously ruled that the trust could not be considered part of Goodman’s assets.

Goodman’s attorney said Hutchins’ adoption had nothing to do with the civil suit, according to the newspaper.

Instead, he said, it was meant as a savvy financial move to ensure his family’s investments.

Kelly seemed doubtful.

“The events which serve as the grounds for the relief sought by the Plaintiffs border on the surreal and take the Court into a legal twilight zone,” he said.

That isht cray! We just wanna know at what point does this stroke of genius backfire and the police come knocking cuz this fool is committing incest by fawking his legal daughter?
