Why O Why must they deny? Although Will and Jada’s say their new “academy” isn’t a Scientology institute, it sure does sound like one:

Called the New Village Academy, scheduled to open Sept. 3, the Calabassas, Calif.-based school will offer a curriculum of literacy and math, living skills, Spanish, karate, yoga, robotics, technology, etiquette and art that will be taught using the Scientology teaching method of study technology.

That’s not the only Scientology influence on campus though — many of the school’s teachers belong to the controversial church.

Yeah, that’s some “new” ish alright. Highly suspect indeed.

The stars came out in full force to attend Nelson Mandela’s birthday dinner in Hyde Park, London, today. Denzel Washington was joined by Oprah, Will & Jada, and many more to help usher in Mandela’s 90th birthday.

On a sour note, according to the NY Daily News, Naomi Campbell, who has claimed Mandela is her “honanrary grandfather”, won’t be appearing onstage during an AIDS fundraising event that will go down on Friday. Here’s why:

“The concert, to celebrate Mandela’s upcoming 90th birthday, will raise funds for the 46664 AIDS charity organized by the revered figure. The five-digit number was Mandela’s inmate ID during his 27 years in prison under apartheid. Mandela was upset because Campbell was arrested for assaulting two police officers while wearing a baseball cap with the 46664 logo. Mandela felt the arrest was at odds with his charity’s goals,”

Will continues to make the rounds promoting his new film “Hancock” but wifey Jada is trying to encourage him to pump his brakes for a minute. Here’s his reply:

“I’ve been working a lot the last couple of years. My wife has said we have to take the next five months off. I enjoy my job, I really enjoy working. She might need to be prepared to have lots of sex.”

Hmmm, he’s a true workaholic. He wants to spend his time off getting off? We ain’t mad at him – Jada ’bout to get worn out.

Here’s is some nice wholesome family action for this Father’s Day. The Pinkett-Smiths hit up the Kit Kittredge: An American Girl premiere in Hollyweird this weekend.

Happy Father’s Day to all the Daddys out there doing their part.

Obama used Father’s Day as a platform to ride against absent Black Father’s:

“Too many fathers are M.I.A, too many fathers are AWOL, missing from too many lives and too many homes,” Mr. Obama said, to a chorus of approving murmurs from the audience. “They have abandoned their responsibilities, acting like boys instead of men. And the foundations of our families are weaker because of it.”

Accompanied by his wife, Michelle, and his daughters, Malia and Sasha, who sat in the front pew, Mr. Obama laid out his case in stark terms that would be difficult for a white candidate to make, telling the mostly black audience not to “just sit in the house watching SportsCenter,” and to stop praising themselves for mediocre accomplishments.

“Don’t get carried away with that eighth-grade graduation,” he said, bringing many members of the congregation to their feet, applauding. “You’re supposed to graduate from eighth grade.”

Will Smith gives a little advance on having a successful marriage:

“Divorce can’t be an option – it’s really that simple. If you just remove the option… because, if you have the option, one day that person’s gonna make you wanna divorce. “That’s been a huge part of the success for she (Pinkett Smith) and I…

We’re like, ‘Listen, we’re gonna be together one way or the other so might as well try and be happy.”

They are definitely one of those Hollyweird couples that we believe will stand the test of time. All married couples should probably take notes.

Judging from the pics from yesterday, this seemed like it was an event where Jada could’ve put a little effort into the hair or the get-up or something. We don’t know, something about her appearance looks a little ‘off.’

Will and Jada are reportedly becoming Scientologists:

Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith are set to become the latest high-profile recruits into the controversial Church of Scientology, it has been claimed. Despite Will’s rep vehemently denying reports the star is set to join the cult — which boasts Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes among its celebrity members — sources close to the Men In Black star say he definitely is becoming a member of the religion. “He’s been getting more and more involved [in Scientology],” the source tells MSNBC.com’s The Scoop. “And it isn’t just him, it’s definitely Jada, too.

“It’s not so much that anyone is upset that Will is becoming a Scientologist. It’s that as he becomes more involved, you’d think he’d sort of help fly the flag with Tom [Cruise], who seems to only get a bad rap for it, while Will does this and comes through just fine.”

It is even rumored that Kimora Lee Simmons is set to join the bizarre religion. At a recent Scientology gathering, the cult’s notorious leader, David Miscavige, “spoke glowingly of Kimora Lee Simmons’ efforts to distribute a personalized edition of Hubbard’s The Way to Happiness, featuring her image on the cover, to school kids in New Jersey.” Simmons’ rep, however, insisted that the designer/model is not a Scientologist.

Whatever floats their boat.

Will Smith seems like he is trying to get a little too friendly with David Beckham:

“I love his energy and his attitude, what he represents to the sport and we’re just really getting to know them. They’re very, very funny and I keep telling them they should let people know how funny they are because they’re hilarious. I’m interested in spending some time with them and getting to know them.”

Yeah we bet. With Will and Jada’s track record we’re pretty sure they think the Beckhams are more than just “funny”.
