Jay-Z Says He Will Never Retire, Disses Lil Wayne

Posted by Bossip Staff

jayz8.jpg

Joe Camel recently told XXL he will never retire and Lil Wayne should never even be mentioned in the same sentence as him.

We think Jay-Z should fall back on the rap game and just leave the game as a legend. His last album was garbage, Lil Wayne got the old man beat right now, lyrically that is.

Quote of the Day: Jay-Z

Joey Camel recently Spoke with Rolling Stone and discussed a few topics:

On Don Imus:

“Imus is a racist. He’s not a person that listens to rap or was influenced by rap, so the two things don’t have anything to do with each other, so f*ck him.”

On Kingdom Come:

“Maybe it was too sophisticated. Maybe I f*cked up.”

On retiring a bunch of times:

“I was watching Fade to Black on VH1, and I was cringing, because I kept saying, ‘It may be the last album’ — I’ve made two albums already! When I put The Black Album out, I said I wasn’t going to say that anymore. I just stopped talking. Nobody believes it. Not even you.”

On Yeezy’s “Big Brother” track:

“Not everything on the song was true, but it was true in his mind. He says ‘Carleen said I could buy two tickets.’ You would think he didn’t get any tickets. I gave him four, he wanted six. It was a charity event! And Coldplay — I introduced him to Coldplay, I gave him the number! But I thought it was a brilliant song. It brought us closer together.”

Game Over

Here is Jay-Z’s new video Blue Magic off the American Gangster album.

Camel is back but we think it’s “Game Over” time, time to retire.

Quote of the Day: LL Cool J

Posted by Bossip Staff

llcoolj5.jpg

LL Cool J is still talking about his issues with Def Jam and discusses his new albun Exit 13, that has 50 Cent as the executive producer. No cents and Hova even have something to say. Via MTV:

“These guys fail to realize that when you talk about Def Jam, you’re talking about my legacy. Everything that ever happened at Def Jam is my legacy. Without me being a 16-year-old with my rhyme book, Def Jam [wouldn't] exist. Everything that’s ever been a success up there is a product of me, and I’ve given birth to it.” Continue »

Random Ridiculousness: Ken and Barbie

We always have a little chuckle when looking at any celebrity doll, but whoever designed this Jay-Z Ken doll has to be blind as hell. Where are the camel-esque features? Big ass lips? The Jay-Z doll that came out last December is a little more accurate with the soup coolers. (See thumbnail pic)

Quote of the Day: Jay-Z

jayzpink71.jpg

Jay-Z recently discussed the condition of hip hop and where he plans to go with his album American Gangster:

“When a guy says – and this is definitely no disrespect, because everybody has their place – but when a guy says, ‘I can make a mil saying nothing on a track,’ you know you have reached a bad place. Not only did you think about it, you said it. So, [Hip-Hop] is way past salvaging. So, I’m just gonna do what I do. I’m just gonna go over ‘there’ – way over there. This is why this is what it is. I’m going so far over there.”

“What I really plan to do is shoot [American Gangster, the album] as a movie. Like a better ‘Streets is Watching’. Doing it like a musical. Real stories and get somebody in there that’s [going do to]…real writing. Someone to shoot it like ‘Godfather.’ I know that’s a little ungracious, but that’s how you gotta place it to get somewhere near.”

Todd Smith Wants to Be Civil

llcooljjayz41.JPG

Meathead LL Cool J recently discussed how he plans to deal with his situation at Def Jam and beef with Jay-Z.

Via Illseed at AHH:

“We need to meet and figure it out. It’s tough. Let’s be real. You know, they have an artist (Jay-Z) running a label full of artists. Okay? That’s like Calvin Klein running a fashion label and Varvatos and everyone else is underneath him. What kind of sense does that make? This hierarchy? It doesn’t work for me. I’m going to approach [the situation / meeting] from a positive, optimistic viewpoint. Hopefully it will work.”

Good because two grown ass men pushing 40 (LL is 39 and Camel is 38) beefing is ri-goddamn-diculous. Grow the fu*k up!

For the Stans: Beyonce and Jay-Z Leaving a Mexican Restaurant

Posted by Bossip Staff

beyonce-jay-z.jpg

Beyonce and Jay-Z were photographed leaving La Esquina restaurant in NYC. Aww, look at Joey Camel being all gentlemen-like allowing Beyonce to walk first.

Damn, is Rihanna rubbing off on Bey?? First the dark hair and now she’s rockin those I’m a Bad Ass boots the “black Madonna” wore back in July. Let’s hope she keeps this up and puts those blonde lacefronts to rest.

P. Willy for “Blue Magic”

Posted by Bossip Staff

pharrellwilliamsbluemagic.JPG

Here are a couple of shots of Pharrell in his and Jay-Z’s upcoming video for the cut “Blue Magic”. Doesn’t look too exciting or innovative, but you really can not make that distinction from two photographs. All I’m saying is that this video better be tough, any video that needs a trailer better be tough as hell. Hype Williams is producing it, but I guess we will have just wait and see.

Diddy And His Forbes Talk

Posted by Bossip Staff

50centdiddyjayz4.jpg

Diddy discussed the making of the “I Get Money” remix with him, Mr. Camel, and No Cents and brags about being on the Forbes cover back in the days of Seinfeld:

“If it came down to a video, I would make sure the video is right. The session was the way you can imagine it. It was a billion dollars in the building. It was a lot of power in there. You basically had the powerhouses of Hip-Hop all in one room and we had a ball.”

“The beauty about it at the end of the day we all love to make music. It wasn’t no real egos involved, we all played our positions.”

“People say that sh*t and they making it up [in their rhymes] but I was on the cover of Forbes with Jerry Seinfeld ten years ago. So the world is just catching up. I’ve had my subscription since I’ve been nineteen years old with Forbes and Robb Report and Fortune Magazine. I stays on the lists. To have that articulated in the most craziest pop sh*t way and then to have two of your counterparts [50 Cent and Jay-Z] critique your verse and give it the thumbs up? It isn’t even fair.”

Old-Man LL Cool J is Washed-Up: Don’t Blame Jay

Posted by Bossip Staff

llcooljjayz4.JPG

Ll Cool J recently took some more slick shots at Jay-Z. Last year, LL was going around crying that Jay didn’t push his album. In a new video, LL suggests Joe Camel was talking reckless on the I Get Money Remix. He says Jay-Z should have fell back with his verse and stuck to his “job”.

Someone tell Old Man LL Cool J no one is checkin’ for him and he can’t get street or relevant again by rockin’ some locs, a chain, and kickin it with No Cents. It’s a wrap, fall back, and leave a legend.

Here is Jay-Z’s first single “Blue Magic” ft. Pharrell off his American Gangster album. We’ll let you make your own decision, but we were kinda disappointed especially at the En Vogue “Hold On” hook by P. Willy.
