Saturday Style: Melody Ehsani

Posted by Bossip Staff

We receive tip emails asking what the artist are wearing all the time. On Saturdays we will break down exactly who styles them. Today we will start with Melody Ehsani:

What do Rihanna, Keri Hilson, Erykah Badu and Alicia Keys have in common… accessories made by Meloday Ehsani. Though a seasoned vet in ladies feet fashion, Melody is quickly becoming the rookie of the year when it comes to accessories design. In order to gather some intel on the method to Melody’s madness, Persona caught up with the young designer for this Saturday style exclusive!

Persona Magazine- So how did you start making Jewelry?

Melody Ehsani- Just about a year ago. I got my start in designing women’s shoes but I was asked by a friend of mines (Saul Williams) to do some design work for his album cover. I got a chance to do the photography, fashion and accessories design for that whole project so that’s where I got my start with jewelry.

Interview continued here…

She also designs rings you see Nas, Bilal, and Angela Simmons rockin. Her shoes have been in the game for a while.

At Q Tip’s ” The Renaissance” Release Party, Nas was seen tied up with the old school M.C. and no Kelis. Hmm…. The stunning Nia Long attended as well as Estelle who looked unusually burned out.

Take a gander.

Generations of Hip Hop

Shay and Pharrell of N.E.R.D., old head Grandmaster Flash, Nas and Buckshot attended a press conference in NYC yesterday. Sounds interesting, but the pressing question here is what is really good with Nas and Kelis? We’re starting to worry about them, they haven’t been seen together in a minute. No comment on Pharrell’s steez…

Kelis 1: Pigs 0

Our girl, Kelis, beat some bogus ass charges yesterday that could have had her milkshake bringing nothing but girls to the yard:

The judge ruled that there was no basis for her arrest. “I’m thrilled that justice prevailed in the end,” Kelis said. “Racial profiling is a very serious matter. Unfortunately, most victims learn to deal with this form of harassment in their daily lives because they feel that they don’t have a voice or because they’re not able to absorb the costs to legally fight it in court. I hope that this sheds light on the fact that wearing a uniform and carrying a badge does not allow you to act above the law.”

Congrats, Kelis. We second the notion, F*CK DA POLICE.

Sippin on that Haterade

Peep a drunk ass sounding Jim Jones calling Nas a dweeb, accusing him of not being “relevant in the game” and kickin some “propaganda sh*t” for standing up to “Faux” News. If this dude can’t understand the relevance of Nas’ recent actions, than he’s even more pathetic than he looks – scuzzbucket.

Time For Weezy To Step Aside

Nas just knocked Lil Wayne from the number one spot:

Titled or not, Nas’ 9th LP, Untitled lands atop the Billboard charts this week. The set sold 187, 078 copies according to Nielsen’s Soundscan, moving enough units to push Lil Wayne off the No. 1 spot.

So much for the “Best Rapper Alive.” Nas is on top now.

Bossip Exclusive: Nas & Co. vs. The “Faux” Network

Posted by Bossip Staff

Nas has joined the fight to end Fox’s hate mongering ways:

Hip hop star Nas will join members of ColorOfChange.org & MoveOn.org on Wednesday to deliver 620,127 petition signatures demanding that FOX end its pattern of racist attacks against Black Americans including presidential candidate Barack Obama and his wife Michelle. The group will make the delivery at 2:00pm on Wednesday, July 23rd at FOX in Manhattan.

Over the last several weeks, FOX has had a string of incidents that many believe are a veiled attempt to prey on racism and intolerance and cast the Obamas as “outsiders”: an on-screen graphic referred to Mrs. Obama as “Obama’s baby mama,” a pundit “confused” Obama with Osama and then joked they should both be assassinated, and an anchor called a loving fist bump between Barack and Michelle a “terrorist fist jab.” In February, Bill O’Reilly talked about calling a “lynching party” to deal with Michelle.

Kudos to Nas for stepping up to address that venomous network. It’s not common to see successful artists make such bold moves. If you’re interested in joining him in the fight to stop “Faux” and their racist agenda, click here.
