Nas album release party went down recently. According to, that ish was waaaack!:

Talk about an unorganized event! was on the scene for Nas Album release party last night and it was pure kaos! Nas did not show up until 1AM and was being a jackass. Several celebs alongside Def Jam label reps were not allowed inside the venue and was left screaming at security about how unorganized this event was! LL Cool J and Fabolous slip up stairs before midnight to an half empty venue. Young Buck was outside in his car for a few minutes and opted not to come in after security was told to turn everybody away. The night was total mess!

Check out pics from the bogus event below – but we have one question: Where was Kelis???

More of the album release chaos as well as pics of the Play*N*Skillz All Star Weekend in Dallas featuring Slim Thug, Mannie Fresh, Pacman Jones and much more. Continue »

The Nas Report

Posted by Bossip Staff

Nas, never afraid to speak his mind, blasted Messy Jesse for making that infamous out of pocket statement:

“I think Jesse Jackson, he’s the biggest player hater. His time is up. All you old n****s, time is up. We heard your voice, we saw your marching, we heard your sermons. We don’t wanna hear that s**t no more.

“It’s a new day. It’s a new voice. I’m here now. We don’t need Jesse; I’m here. I got this. We got Barack, we got David Banners and Young Jeezys.

“We’re the voice now. It’s no more Jesse. Sorry. Goodbye. You ain’t helping nobody in the ‘hood. That’s the bottom line. Goodbye, Jesse. Bye!”

But he had nothing but kind words for Kanye West and Lil Wayne:

“I think Kanye West saved rap. I think Lil Wayne is showing there is a future for all kinds of artists to continue doing this.”

Quote(s) of the Day

So good, we had to do it twice.

During his trip to London, the press asked if he was interested in getting down with politics, Hovvy Hov responded:

“No, they’ll kill me in 30 seconds. ‘S**t! This guy’s in!’ Bang! Ha ha! I won’t make it past the primaries! “They talk about Obama’s priest – imagine what they’d do to me!”

Steve Wonder is also in the news again. The music legend caught some feelings over Nas’ choice for the name of his newest album title (despite the fact that it’s been changed):

“I’m not with the word only [Ni**er] in that we had buried the word and it should have been buried. “People say, ‘Well we use it for fun and whatever.’ I’m not really feeling it and I know sometimes it comes in (to) conversation… For all the pain that has happened over the years, what that word brings up, it needs to go away.”

For your Friday afternoon viewing pleasure, we’ve included a clip of Jay-Z the Camel killin’ it in concert while in Norway. Click HERE for a view.

Nas new album cover

Nas recently discussed why he had to fall back on his album title:

It was a matter of deciding between changing the name or skipping the major retail outlets I knew wouldn’t carry the record and just selling it through my website and stores that had balls. [Def Jam chairman] L.A. Reid and I had a conversation — I enlightened him and he enlightened me, and he was with me. But I want as many people as possible to hear this, and it was going to be a messy battle that was going to distract from what the album had to say.

Nas: “Black President”

Posted by Bossip Staff

Here is Nas’ new track called “Black President”. Listen below and feel free to comment:

Quote of the Day

Posted by Bossip Staff

Nas talks politics:

“There never been a president to address the slaughter of young black people by this country’s police. When your government’s police are killing one section of people, that’s genocide. There’s never been a president to even acknowledge it. You don’t acknowledge that? That’s a big thing President Obama has to recognize when he gets in office. I’m five presidents in … and I ain’t seen nothing happen to stop the police murders on young, black people,” he added. “Why would I believe in the system? With that being said, I think Barack can cure that disease and help cure the country. Not just in that area with us blacks, but also with all Americans. Women are getting treated like dogs. You know how hard it is for a woman to prove she was raped? The system is warped. They throw young guys — who’s starving — in jail just trying to survive on the streets. Throw them in jail forever. Young kids, 18 years old, executed in Texas. Yet, child predators get to come home and do it again. I think it’s so much our president can do. [Obama] seems like a human being. I say that because a lot of presidents don’t seem like human beings. They seem like straight-up businessmen who care about nothing but the business. Nah, you gotta care about the people.”
