The stars came out in full force to attend Nelson Mandela’s birthday dinner in Hyde Park, London, today. Denzel Washington was joined by Oprah, Will & Jada, and many more to help usher in Mandela’s 90th birthday.

On a sour note, according to the NY Daily News, Naomi Campbell, who has claimed Mandela is her “honanrary grandfather”, won’t be appearing onstage during an AIDS fundraising event that will go down on Friday. Here’s why:

“The concert, to celebrate Mandela’s upcoming 90th birthday, will raise funds for the 46664 AIDS charity organized by the revered figure. The five-digit number was Mandela’s inmate ID during his 27 years in prison under apartheid. Mandela was upset because Campbell was arrested for assaulting two police officers while wearing a baseball cap with the 46664 logo. Mandela felt the arrest was at odds with his charity’s goals,”

Oprah’s dog recently died and went to doggy heaven. Now she’s going to dedicate a show to the bitch:

“Oprah Winfrey is dedicating her Friday talk show to her cocker spaniel Sophie, who recently died of kidney failure at the age of 13.

‘Sophie gave me 13 years of unconditional love. She was a true love in my life.’”

On the real, Oprah goes that EXTRA mile for the people (and creatures) she’s down with. So the question must be asked: How can one be down??

We’ve about had it with these Psycho’s with Bibles (AKA the Christian Right). They’re really gunning for a sister, especially now that she’s a billionaire. Next thing you know, they’ll be adding her “friendship” with Gayle to the list.

Gayle King just came up big time from the death of a dog:

“Gayle King , Oprah Winfrey’s best friend, has moved into a penthouse purchased in the name of Oprah’s recently departed pooch, Sophie. According to deed-transfer records released yesterday, a company called Sophie’s Penthouse LLC bought a $7.1 million full-floor sky palace atop the 36-floor building at 207 E. 57th St…… It has three bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, a large living room/dining area, and a 768-square-foot wraparound terrace.”

Damn, it pays to have friends in high places, right Gayle? “Friends with Benefits”, indeed. Look we all know what time it is folks. It’s high time these two stop playing the role (or is it?). Discuss….

Tyra Banks took a lie detector test on her show today and when asked if she was jealous of Oprah Winfrey she said “No”. The results showed that her answer was false.

Forbes has made it’s list of top-earning Black celebrities and of course Oprah tops the list with $260 million which is equivalent to $712,000 a day. Damn that’s a lot of paper. Oprah has definitely got the game on lock and will probably hold that number one spot for a minute.
