We have a feeling Tameka was the main culprit in naming this child:

NAVIYD ELY RAYMOND was born at 2:33 a.m. Wednesday and weighed 5 lbs, 13 oz. Their first son, Usher Raymond V, turned 1 on Nov. 26.

“Tameka and the baby are doing fine,” a rep for the singer tells Us.

Nav-who??? Is that like David, just with a dash of ‘hood’ sprinkled on top? SMH at that Tameka.

Why the long face, Usher? Congrats, It’s a boy!:

Sources confirm to PEOPLE that Usher and his wife Tameka have a new addition to the family: a baby boy born on Wednesday.

The new Raymond (whose name has not yet been released) joins older brother Usher Raymond V, who turned 1 on Nov. 26. The couple married in 2007. Tameka, 37, also has three sons from a previous relationship.

A source says Usher was at his wife’s side during the delivery. Last month, he told Access Hollywood that his soon-to-arrive baby was “one of the best Christmas gifts there is to have.”

“I’m so proud to be a father by the time I’m 30,” Usher (who hit the big 3-0 in October) told PEOPLE back in August. “I’d hate to be 80 years old and not be able to run with my kids. I need to still be able to do flips when they’re in high school!”

What a blessing. Too bad with Tameka using the mind-numbing powers of that wicked snapper, poor Usher didn’t even have a say in the matter. Damn.

Celebs like Common, Diddy, and Oprah came out to show support and celebrate Susan Taylor’s 37 years at Essence Magazine. 37 long ass years. That’s a lot of work, but I guess it’s true that it doesn’t feel like work if you love what you do. Congratulations.

Lil’ Wayne’s album is on top of the pop charts:

Lil Wayne’s multi-million-selling album Tha Carter III has been named the Best Album of 2008 in the year’s first pop poll.

The rapper’s hit album beat Girl Talk’s “Feed The Animals” release and TV on the Radio’s “Dear Science” in the new Blender magazine hitlist.

We knew Weezy was doing it big, but to top the Pop charts means that all those Caucasian teenie-boppers are your main fan base. Just wait until soccer moms find out that isn’t purple Kool-Aid in those styrofoam cups. SMH

According to the Republicans, there is a reason to give Valerie Jarrett, who was just named his Senior White House Advisor, the side eye:

Valerie Jarrett served as a board member for several organizations that provided funding and support for Chicago housing projects operated by real estate developers and Obama financial backers Rezko and Allison Davis. (Davis is also Obama’s former boss.) Jarrett was a member of the Board of Directors for the Woodlawn Preservation and Investment Corporation along with several Davis and Rezko associates, as well as the Fund for Community Redevelopment and Revitalization, an organization that worked with Rezko and Davis. According to press reports, housing projects operated by Davis and Rezko have been substandard and beset with code violations. The Chicago Sun Times reported that one Rezko-managed housing project was “riddled with problems — including squalid living conditions…lack of heat, squatters and drug dealers.”

These Republicans can get real funky when they don’t get their way, and we can be sure this isn’t the last attempt to drag skeletons out of the closet. And in case you may have been wondering, the Rezko character is locked up in the Fed Pen at the moment for the crimes mentioned in the article.

It looks like the two love birds are getting hitched:

Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson are about to get engaged in the romance capital of the world. The happy couple fly out from London tomorrow for a minibreak to Paris – where the lovers will choose their rings. And then they’ll head back to London, where Sam has been DJing, and announce their engagement to the world.

Not that we would wish ill will on anyone’s relationship, but wouldn’t it make for a fantastic scene if they got to the altar and Lindsay said, “Sike, I’m not even gay!”
