Rocawear and Jay-Z celebrated the "New Face of Rocawear Ladies" Ciara with an Armand de Brignac toast at Buddakan last night in NYC. Who was the old face of Rocawear Ladies? I haven't seen anyone wearing Rocawear in a minute, but with that multi-million dollar Iconix deal and Ciara as the spokesperson, Rocawear might actually become a brand to 'rock'.

Since being dumped by Joe Camel, Damon Dash has been struggling to get his mogul on. Via New York Post:

An analysis of Dash's various holdings, which range from fashion to entertainment, turns up more misses than hits. Dash's CEO clothing line has yet to take off, reality TV show "Ultimate Hustler" aired for one season and bombed in the ratings, and his foray into Hollywood with the movies "State Property" and "The Woodsman" has not produced box office hits, though DVD sales have fared better. Meanwhile, Dash has pulled the plug on his State Property sportswear line and fledgling record label Damon Dash Music Group, according to spokeswoman Amanda Silverman. "Music is not where the money is," she said.

While a line of designer clothing by wife Rachel Roy has garnered critical acclaim, and a higher profile after Roy appeared on "Oprah," it has yet to turn a profit. Dash's biggest win so far has been Pro-Keds, a sneaker brand he licensed from Stride Rite in 2004 and which, according to industry estimates, has more than doubled sales in the past year to exceed $22 million.

SMH, Damon Dash just looks like a loser everytime I see him without Joe Camel, Mr. President. It's like a son looking for his father for 'missed' direction. Jay-Z, come help your boy get his mind and paper right. He will appreciate you now. It is rumored Dash will take over Joe Camel's spot at DefJam once he leaves later this year. There are also rumors that DefJam layed off 40 employees today and Joe Camel is running the label into the ground.

Hip Hop Weekly will be airing in an upcoming issue the results of the ongoing debate of Jay-Z's Gotta Baby paternity rumor. Apparently, he is the father of Shenelle Scott's son Isa Jael (Lil Camel) and is up-to-date on his agreed upon 4K monthly child support.

Damn, only $4,000 a month. I think Jay can do better than that...he could at least upgrade that porch---some fresh paint and some new white plastic chairs might help. But, really, jokes aside, his child should be living as well as he regardless of the situation. Sending Yankees caps and baby mandals is not enough. Hova's gonna need to step his Daddy game up once all this is completely public and no longer a rumor.

According to NPD Group, sales of men's sandals increased 11% from 2005 to 2006 and some industry sources are citing Joe Camel for the trend. One industry source says:

"The perception of men in sandals is changing," says Genevieve Ascencio, a spokeswoman for Frye, maker of macho Western wear. "It's not your typical 'guy in black socks on the beach' look. It's a lot cooler now, and people who have a lot of street cred are validating the trend." She cited Grammy-winner Jay-Z, who raised eyebrows among hip-hoppers last year when he was spotted wearing flip-flops while strolling the beach with Beyonce. "If it's good enough for Jay-Z, it's good enough for every man," Miss Ascencio says.

Is there a problem with the last couple of trends from rappers: rockin pink (Camron), open toe sandals (Joe Camel), and tight jeans with motorcycle chains (Jim Jones)?

In the March 9 issue of In Touch Weekly, they cite an unidentified source as contending Joe Camel is trying to dissuade Lil Camel's mother from taking legal action.

Shanelle told the Guardian, a newspaper in her home country, in 2006:

"It was crazy. You have young multimillionaires throwing themselves at you. Somehow you end up falling for it."

What's interesting is that In Touch Weekly contacted Jay-Z's reps and they had no comment. Why doesn't he deny Lil Camel is his and shut that Shanelle broad up?

The couple have been at the centre of wedding rumours for months but a friend close to Beyoncé claims the pair won't be walking down the aisle anytime soon. The source said: "They are still very much an item and in love, but there will be no summer wedding - or any wedding this year for that matter. Jay wants to settle down, but Beyoncé is not about to step off the gas as far as her career is concerned. "She told Jay he is going to have to wait a while before she is ready to walk down the aisle." Although wedding bells aren't ringing for the couple just yet, Beyoncé does want to tie the knot with Jay-Z.

Maybe when President Camel is 50 he can have the privilege of marrying Beyonce. She was spotted wearing a "Shawn" ring on NBC's Today show this week, shortly after Joe Camel appeared under Rihanna's umbrella.

The rumors of Jay-Z having a son in Trinidad seem to have a couple of "facts" that make it likely it is his child. Sources exclusively tell Bossip that Jay-Z and Shanelle Scott did have a sexual relationship after they met back in 2000.



Joe Camel and Beyonce started appearing together back in 2000 around the same time Shanelle Scott and Joe Camel met. He may have wanted to keep the pregnancy quiet due to wanting to "win" Beyonce and her family over.

Rock a Dog: Jay-Z Accused of Selling Dog Fur

A jacket from Jigga's clothing line, Rocawear, allegedly has dog fur in its collar, even though it's advertised as having fake fur. According to an investigation by The Humane Society of the United States, the Hunter jacket on Rocawear.com contains real fur from a raccoon dog, a dog indigenous to Asia that The Humane Society claims are skinned alive for the coats, hence the uproar. As of today, the $265 coat was still a "featured" item on the Rocawear website. Late last year, a similar investigation found that raccoon dog fur was being used in a coat in rap mogul P. Diddy's "Sean John" collection; that item was removed from stores within a few days. Reps for Jay-Z and Rocawear could not immediately be reached for comment. The Humane Society said that it informed the company of the issue a week ago, but that they've taken no action.

Joe Camel should of known to switch that mutt fur when Diddy got caught. SMH. You knew Rocawear was wack when Joe Camel stopped wearing that sh*t 4 years ago.
