Al Sharpton is pictured here, giving Joe Jackson an award the other night. The man with a perm is saying more Joe Jacksons are what’s needed in the black community:

The Rev. Al Sharpton believes the world needs more fathers like Joe Jackson – a man the King of Pop said, routinely beat him and his siblings when they were children. The civil rights leader heaped praise on the dad’s parenting skills… Continue »

The FBI is investigating whether Jesse Jackson Jr. was involved in a scandal to buy and sell Obama’s senate seat:

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. reportedly is the “Senate Candidate 5″ mentioned in a 76-page complaint filed by prosecutors against Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who has been accused of a pay-to-play effort to sell the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by President-elect Barack Obama. ABC News on Wednesday quoted federal law enforcement sources saying of the son of the civil rights leader is the candidate identified by the FBI as willing to spend up to $1 million to secure the Senate seat.

Jackson, who has expressed interest in being appointed to the post, is holding a press conference at 4:15 p.m. ET to respond to the suggestion, and has denied any wrongdoing.

Messy Jesse Sr. (who said he wanted to personally cut off Obama’s nutsack ) and Al Sharpton have been personally taking stacks from corporations who fear racial lawsuits and we know shadyness doesn’t fall too far from the big shady tree. We will see how the evidence unfolds and hope lil’ Messy Jesse is innocent. SMH.

On the day before her birthday, Al Sharpton’s daughter got hit by a car outside of her father’s NY office building:

Dominique Sharpton was “hit by a car the day before yesterday while outside of National Action Network’s headquarters in Harlem while walking with two co-workers. A car pulled into the gas station at full speed and she was pinned to the car. Her father rushed home and she is on crutches with several stitches but she is fine and grateful for the outpouring of support from around the country.”

Damn, we hope this shyte wasn’t intentional. Well, regardless, we wish her a quick and full recovery.

Nas and Al Sharpton

Nas’ decision not to call his new album Ni**er has put a smile on ole Al’s face.

“The 34-year-old New York native wanted to use the title to make a political statement about the hypocrisy in hip-hop. But criticizm from Def Jam record executives and fear of a decline in sales persuaded him to pull the title on Monday, just six weeks before the album hits stores on July 1.

And Sharpton is calling the rapper’s decision a ‘partial victory’ for racial-equality activists.

He says, ‘The record companies have to consider the downside of using it, business-wise. That would not have happened if we hadn’t protested. I have a lot of respect for Nas. I liked what he said about Sean Bell. We have a fundamental disagreement on this. He can rap against me. I’ll preach against them. We’re still friends.’”

Al got what he wanted, and Nas will have increased record sale. Sounds like everybody got their back scratched here.

When The Checks Stop Coming In

isiah.thomas.gets.canned

Isiah Thomas finally gets canned for all of his out of pocket tendencies and bad coaching:

Thomas was fired Friday after a season of listless and dreadful basketball, a tawdry lawsuit and unending chants from fans demanding his dismissal. This season alone, Thomas was found to have sexually harassed a former team employee, feuded with point guard Stephon Marbury and benched center Eddy Curry – the players Thomas acquired in the two biggest of a number of moves that never panned out. Things went poorly this season from the time training camp opened. The jury came back with its verdict that day, finding that Thomas and MSG sexually harassed former team executive Anucha Browne Sanders and ordering the company to pay $11.6 million in damages. Criticized by Al Sharpton and Rutgers women’s coach C. Vivian Stringer for comments he made in his taped deposition, Thomas seemed downcast during most of training camp – and never had much reason for better spirits when the season began. Chants of “Fire Isiah!” sometimes started minutes after home games, and even Dolan’s strong relationship with Thomas couldn’t convince people the coach would last.

Those “Fire Isiah” chants sound like pure comedy. Poor thang.

Ho Sit Down: Over the Hill Civil Rights Gang Keep Dissin’ Barack

Andrew Young Barack Obama

Now is when the political thuggin begins. Someone needs to tell the old “over the hill” civil rights gang their time is up, that old sh*t is not working. Former Atlanta mayor Andrew Young and Hilary Clinton’s camp have some things to say about our man Barack Obama:

“It is not a matter of being inexperienced,” Young told an Atlanta crowd this fall. “It is a matter of being young. There is a certain matter of maturity … You have to have a protective network around you… Leadership requires suffering. And I would like to see Barack’s children get a little older, see, because they’re going to pick on them.”

“To put a brother in there by himself is to set him up for crucifixion.” He also joked that author Toni Morrison may have been on to something when she referred to former President Bill Clinton as the “first black president.”

“Bill (Clinton) is every bit as black as Barack,” he said. “He has probably gone out with more black women than Barack.”

Young’s remarks come as Obama is battling with Hillary for support in the black community. Rev. Jesse Jackson, who had endorsed Obama, has been critical of the presidential candidate in recent weeks. Rev. Al Sharpton has said that he has not decided if he will support Obama.

An advisor from Hilary Clinton Camp states:

“Senator Obama is a fabulous orator, but we need more than words. We don’t need someone who says one thing and does another, somebody who talks a good game but doesn’t have the courage of their convictions. And on issue after issue, Senator Obama says one thing and does another.”

Al Sharpton, Messy Jesse Jackson, and Andrew Young get a big, Ho Sit Down! It’s 2007, you’re time is up!
