Jill Scott announced her engagement to her drummer, Jon Roberts after her performance at Carnegie Hall over the weekend. This is how it went down:

“…drummer Jon Roberts aka Lil’ Jon presented her with a bouqet of flowers and they kissed…then told the audience their good news to an applause.”

Kudos to Jill for stepping out from the shadows of her divorce, and moving on. We wish them the best of luck.

Here is are some promo shots of the new film “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency” starring a naked-faced Idris Elba and Jill Scott. Jill is already good press from the film:

Oscar-winning director Anthony Minghella, who tragically died yesterday of a hemorrhage following neck surgery. “She is extremely stellar. I think she can be a real star,” raved Minghella, who recently directed Scott as Botswana gumshoe Precious Ramotswe in the upcoming flick.

Jill Scott recently discusses her rack:

“I have large breasts. I’ve been blessed with them, and I need something that can support (them). I got tired of the hurting shoulders — that’s not nice. Besides, I really enjoy my breasts. They’ve been with me for a long time — without being too graphic, we’ve had fun!”

Jill has a new bra coming out for Ashley Stewart which is why she is discussing her boobies to the Associated Press.  Them thangs are rather large.

Kanye West, Alicia Keys, Faheem Najm aka T-Pain, Chaka Khan, Lupe Fiasco, Jill Scott, Rihanna, among others were all winners last night at the 2008 Grammy Awards.

Amy Winehouse was the biggest winner of the night. She better get her ass together quick, because with her track record of rocks there won’t be any Grammy’s period for her next year.

Jill Scott, Janet Jackson, and Tyler Perry all have good reason to be smiling. Why Did I Get Married? debuted this weekend bringing in $21.5 million killing all it’s competitors in the box office with “The Game Plan” starring The Rock coming in second with $11.5 million.

This may be a sign for Janet to give it up on the music thing, and start rolling with Tyler Perry on the acting front.
