Diddy is looking to change the perception of black males:

With the launch of his newest men’s fragrance on the horizon, Sean “Diddy” Combs is utilizing president-elect Barack Obama to promote the scent, in an effort to redefine the perception of African Americans.

The Wall Street Journal reports the rap mogul will appear in a black-and-white ad for the new I am King fragrance. The ad will be featured in magazines and on billboards across the country in December.

Dressed as a black James Bond, Combs wears a white dinner jacket as he is seen on jet skis, in casinos and aboard a yacht on the French Riviera.

Although the ads could come across with being out of touch with the current economy, Combs maintains that the promotion is reflective of what he labeled as an “affordable indulgence.”

“Everything on the market isn’t going to be attached to the bad economy,” he said. With Obama’s historic victory over Republican rival John McCain, Combs believes the time is now for marketers to shift their perception of the urban black male from the stereotypical person with lots of “bling,” to one of successful black men such as himself and Obama.

It makes perfect sense for Diddy to use Obama’s status as opposed to his own. Hell, he has only spent 15 years in the spotlight doing everything possible to perpetuate the same stereotype he is trying to change. SMH

Mariah Carey defends her ditzy image in Allure Magazine:

She’s known as a ditzy diva, but Mariah Carey says she considers herself more of a “freakin’ prude. It’s a dichotomy, I understand,” the 37-year-old bombshell singer tells Allure magazine. “I understand that people think I’m a ditzy moron.”

For ditzy, she’s doing well since she notes: “I have three personal assistants just to keep up with my schedule.” The once-married superstar, who has been romantically linked to Yankees captain Derek Jeter and rapper Eminem, said fans would be mistaken if they think she has loose morals. She insists she’s never had a one-night stand.

“I’m Mary Poppins: I’m what the buttoned-up girls are supposed to be.”

Well frolicking around in skimpy little clothes and singing about daydreams, rainbows, and butterflies and you’re damn near pushing 40 doesn’t help that cause.

Lil Wayne is being sued for not making payments on his 1999 Bentley Arnage, he owes $91,000 on the car:

LeMarck deAndre filed the suit Dec. 18, 2007, in the Superior Court of California in Alameda County, reports Allhiphop.com. He claims that Lil Wayne, born Dwayne M. Carter, has failed to pay a balance of over $91,000 for the pricey automobile.

Come on now Weezy, that’s not the proper way to stunt. Lil Wayne recently discussed his stuntin’ in an interview with Ozone Magazine:

Yeah, I’m making too much money right now. When you’re single, you make money and you spend it crazy. We buy jets. We be on private planes going to watch basketball games, I swear to God. We be getting back on our jet and the Hornets are getting back on their jet. I’m like, this ain’t cool. We ain’t supposed to be doing this. We’ve got things to do. I’m supposed to be saving up for something, not ballin’ out, not just being on the road bachelorette style. I’ve got four spots in Miami. That’ don’t even make no sense.

Gabrielle Union was spotted flirting in Vegas late last week with married actor Boris Kodjoe and sources tell Bossip that the two met up later that night at the ESPN “After Dark” VIP party.

Gabby to King Magazine:

“By the time we were like, 15, we started taking our parents’ cars and driving to Tijuana and partying with the Marines and the Navy guys, and just drinking and all kind of business we shouldn’t have been doing.”

“I just realized that a lot of women don’t like to do it doggy-style, like it’s a big thing for men to do that. I didn’t know that was a big deal. I didn’t get that fax.”
