Denzel and Pauletta Washington were spotted leaving Mr. Chow in Hollyweird this weekend. Denzel has been looking a tad bit scruffy lately, but we’re sure the ladies don’t mind a little five o’clock shadow coming from him.

The highly praised film, starring Oscar-winners Washington and Forest Whitaker, was just nominated for eight NAACP Image Awards. But a memo from the White House’s Paris Dennard, which this column has seen, says that “there will not be a screening here at the White House. I could not get time on President Bush or Mrs. Bush’s calendars.”

We reported about this a few days ago and here is an update. The NAACP is urging voters to vote Republican in a Louisiana election because a Democratic senator, Rep. Carla Blanchard Dartez, ended a phone call with Hazel Boykin saying: “Talk to you later, Buckwheat.”

The nice old lady who was called the slur said:

“I’ve never had no one talk to me that way and I considered it a racial slur,” Hazel Boykin said. “I know the meaning of it, it’s just like the N-word.”

We have to kick these racist bastards out of office, Louisiana Stand UP and get that disrespectful bi*ch out of office.

A state representative in Louisiana is under fire for racist remarks towards the mother of a civil rights leader over the phone:

A state representative in a runoff election infuriated civil rights leaders after she ended a conversation with the mother of the NAACP’s local president by saying, “Talk to you later, Buckwheat.”

State Rep. Carla Blanchard Dartez, of Morgan City, acknowledged she made the remark during a Thursday night telephone conversation with Hazel Boykin to thank her for driving voters to the polls.

Buckwheat, a black child character in the “Little Rascals” comedies of the 1930s and ’40s, is viewed as a racial stereotype demeaning to black people. Hazel Boykin’s son, Jerome, is the NAACP’s president in Terrebonne Parish. She is well-known as a 1960s civil rights activist, helping to desegregate restaurants and the parish school system.

What the hell is wrong with this racist and disrespectful slut? She needs something like a cell phone beating by Naomi Campbell real quick, something real proppa-like.

Talk show host Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, known for his NAACP boycotts and his confrontations with the Rev. Jesse Jackson, released a statement after hearing Ron Mexico confess that he has found the lord:

“The statement that Michael Vick has found Jesus is laughable. Like other celebrities before him, Vick is evoking Jesus’ name to stop the criticism and gain public sympathy. True believers recognize the hypocrisy in what he’s doing.Jesus’ is the most abused name in black America and Vick is following a long line of abusers. We can no longer allow celebrities and politicians to break laws and then use ‘Jesus’ as a get-out-of-jail free card. Most of these people go right back into their bad behavior and criminal activities as soon as the storm passes.

Jesse Jackson evoked Jesus’ name after he was discovered to have fathered a child in an extramarital affair. Thug rappers can’t keep Jesus’ name out of their mouths at award shows or when they get into trouble. Even Bill Clinton (the first black president) started carrying the Bible after he was caught having an affair with Monica Lewinsky and perjuring himself. Cam’Ron blew up the “Stop Snitchin” phenomenon on a 60 Minute special earlier this year and now a Florida newspaper is under fire after printing an editorial cartoon on “Stop Snitchin”.

According to local Florida site jacksonville.com:

Some readers were shocked and angered by a Friday editorial page cartoon depicting a black man with a smoking gun in his hand standing over a bullet-riddled victim. “I didn’t see nuttin’!” said a little girl standing nearby. “Now that’s a good little ho!” said the gunman. Both the shooter and the child wore T-shirts saying “Don’t Snitch!”The cartoon carried a caption: “The new rule of Law!” A billboard in the background depicted more black characters under lyrics, “Rap your life away.” Continue »

The NAACP is holding their 98th annual convention this week and NAACP Chairman Julian Bond took the time to ride against Jay-Z yesterday:

“I heard somebody say that when Jay-Z talks about ho’s, he gets a gold record. When Don Imus talks about ho’s, he gets fired. We believe in equal justice and equal justice for everyone.”

Two women teachers were arrested for having sex with their young students, one a 11 year-od. The teachers had sex with a total of six Black students in one of South Carolina’s most conservative counties. The case has taken on a racial tone after the teachers were released:

“If this had been black teachers, they would not be out of jail right now,” said Corinnie Young, a 49-year-old bookstore employee who is black.

“I can assure you if it were an African American male who committed such an offense against a white female, history shows us that the charges, the punishment and the sentencing would be totally different,” said state NAACP president Lonnie Randolph. “The system ain’t blind when the perpetrator is an African American male or female or when the victim is a white female.”

You know R Kelly wouln’t be making an “I am a Flirt” video if he pissed on lil Jojo a couple years ago. SMH at the young white kids not being able to get some of that teacher love.
