Puffy wants to set the record straight about him getting into altercations over Cassie broads:

“It was something that was just totally overblown … I don’t fight over girls! I got into an argument, I am a human being. I am going to get into an argument. I am making no denial about that, but I did not punch anybody. I’m staying focused on being a role model and you know, being somebody that all my grandmas and aunties out there can be proud of and tell their kids to look up to you, know what I’m saying. I mean it is apart of celebrity … but it just wasn’t true.”

In other Diddy news, he just signed a deal with Ciroc Vodka that could be worth $100 million eventually.

Quote of the Day: Stop Snitchin’

David Banner (who is not afraid to speak his mind) had something to say about T.I. and his bodyguard snitchin’ situation:

“Tip was feeding this man’s family. We don’t do it like that, dog. We don’t talk to them boys. However it went down, we sit down [and do the jail time,] where I’m from. Dude, you don’t tell it. You hope the people you holding down is man enough to hold your people down. [The bodyguard] wasn’t a convicted felon, my dude. He could have held [Tip] down. We gotta start making the environment in our neighborhoods not conducive to snitching. How I’m doing this song, I’mma make it uncomfortable for snitches.”

Crazo Foxy Brown has plead non-guilty to charges that she busted her neighbor upside the head with her BlackBerry finally after refusing to show up to previous court dates. And now her defense attorney, Alan Stutman has asked off of her case because his wife was threatened by a strange man in the lobby of their Brooklyn building.

The man ran up to her and said, “How can a beautiful woman like you be beaten up?” then left.

Her lawyer is scared because of that? Either something is real fishy or this is just some random ass sh*t.

Amerie, who is known for randomly putting in her two cents has some advice for Britney Spears:

“I like her single Gimme More, but I think something with really high bursts of energy – something like my song Gotta Work – would have been cool for her. She needs to move more. I don’t really know her situation, but for myself I am not a drinker, I am not a smoker and I have never done drugs. I think that has a lot to do with keeping yourself on track. She wasn’t in the right place and the song went on my album. If she wants to do something I would totally be there. If we did I’m sure it would be great and a lot of fun.”

Yeah, Amerie, who has even heard your song “Gotta Work”?

damondash-kareembiggsburke.jpg

Damon Dash and Kareem “Biggs” Burke will release a new mixtape called Beyond Reasonable Doubt showcasing music from Reasonable Doubt done by former Roc-A-Fella artists. Via AHH:

Beyond Reasonable Doubt is a series of songs that were recorded three or four years ago with artists that were signed to a pre-breakup Roc-A-Fella Records.

“A couple of years back, because Reasonable Doubt was so endearing to us, and it was like the only thing that me and Biggs [the other previous co-owner of Roc-A-Fella Records] and Jay really owned 100%, we always wanted to celebrate it. I thought it would be good to put out something where we paid tribute to the records that were on Reasonable Doubt and other records, and we called it Beyond Reasonable Doubt, through the other artists. And also give the artists a platform to showcase their skills too.”

This is actually something we are looking forward to listening to. It will be good to hear stuff from the pre-divorce Roc era. Artists like Rell, Nicole Wray, Oschino & Sparks, Memphis Bleek, etc. will be on the mixtape. And for all of you that were thinking that this was a set up to cash in on Jay-Z American Gangster publicity season both Dame and Biggs state:

“This is how we’re giving back to the people,” Biggs said. Concurring, Dash said, “We ain’t making no money off it. It’s not for a sale. It’s for a listen. It’s for a gander.”

You can’t beat that deal.

Everyone’s favorite odd couple, Usher and his new wife Tameka Foster appear on the cover of the November issue of Essence magazine and discuss their “love for each other”. Via Essence.com:

Usher on how the media and bloggers reacted negatively to the news of his engagement to Tameka Foster:

“It was like, wow. (Getting married) and having a child is something that everyone should celebrate. What’s happened to us as a culture and a people? I’m not ignorant, so I’m not going to go out there and lash out….”

Usher on how he and Tameka have stayed strong:

“Ours is not a typical love story, but it is a true one. Tameka and I have been fortunate enough to go through the thick of it in the beginning. We’ve had that opportunity to huddle up as a team, to make sure that we’re clear and speak as one voice.” Continue »

LL Cool J is still talking about his issues with Def Jam and discusses his new albun Exit 13, that has 50 Cent as the executive producer. No cents and Hova even have something to say. Via MTV:

“These guys fail to realize that when you talk about Def Jam, you’re talking about my legacy. Everything that ever happened at Def Jam is my legacy. Without me being a 16-year-old with my rhyme book, Def Jam [wouldn't] exist. Everything that’s ever been a success up there is a product of me, and I’ve given birth to it.” Continue »

The King of R&B Says He Didn’t Have a Heart Attack

Yesterday it was said that Bobby Brown was hospitalized for a mild heart attack scare, now he is denying all claims. Via NY Daily News:

“None of it’s true. I went in for a checkup. The doc gave me a clean bill of health. I did go to the hospital … to just get a checkup, get everything tested out so that I could go on this tour, and everything is fine.”

“I don’t know where the heart attack thing came from. I got my heart and everything checked out earlier this morning, and I’m just fine.”

Well, something is a little suspect here…who goes to the hospital for just a “check up”? Anyway, we’re just glad Bobby is okay, even though these photos don’t look like routine check up photos to us.

One our faithful readers in VA exclusively tells Bossip Kerry Washington was chillin’ backstage last night at a Common show in Norfolk. Kerry recently told SOHH she directed Common’s latest video:

“Common called me and asked me if I wanted to be ‘the girl’ in the next video because we’ve really always had a mutual respect for each other’s work and I said that I would do it if I can direct it,” Washington told SOHH. “And he was like, ‘Alright well write a treatment.”

Kerry dates brothas????? The video wrapped over a week ago and she is still leanin’ on Common. We knew something was up when she attended a ‘Hip Hop Honors’ event.

Looks like Inga is actually getting a lot done while locked up. She has a new album dropping next month, Brooklyn Don Diva, and is also communicating with her fans via new website http://www.freefoxybrown.com. She states:

“I devoted my career to building an affinity with my fans who have supported me unflinchingly and no barbed wire fence or prison wall will stop that. I am in great spirits and very focused, and needed a forum to communicate to the people.”

Well if she were only in great spirits and focused a few years ago she might not be in this situation. That’s great that she has the internet available to her, hopefully there’s no access to a BlackBerry. Free Foxy Brown, SMH, like she has been wrongfully accused of something.

Halle Berry Pregnant Swag2

Halle Berry went on Oprah yesterday and talked about her pregnancy, wanting more kids, doing it all the time with her K-fraud, watching Maury Povich, etc. She also mentioned something that was a little bizarre:

“I’m sort of superstitious, so I saved all of the negative [pregnancy] tests in a drawer.”

“Don’t ask! I don’t know why, but I did. … After about 35 tests, we finally got a positive test.”

Ok, we can understand that she’s excited about having a baby at 41, but a drawer full of 35 pissy ass pregnancy tests is disgusting.

Tim Hardaway is a Changed Man

timhardaway.jpg

Tim Hardaway, who once said “I let it be known I don’t like gay people. I don’t like to be around gay people. I’m homophobic. It shouldn’t be in the world, in the United States, I don’t like it.” Is now seeking help and is embraced by some of the gay community.

“I just wanted to go in and get educated, that’s all. Get educated on what I said and why I said those things. I’m working on understanding it now. I’m not really trying to make amends. I’ve been there trying to get help. I was scared out of my … mind. I didn’t know how they were going to act toward me. But you know what? They welcomed me with open arms. That eased a lot of my nervousness. I have taken steps and I’m happy that I did. If I didn’t, I’d still be naive about it, ignorant about the whole thing. But I can talk about it now. I’m a polite person. That’s how I am.”

Polite person now, huh, Tim? Well at least he’s making an effort, he should also make an effort to do something about that crazy forearm hair.

ANTM Alum Yaya is Working

Yaya DaCosta, runner up in Cycle 3 of America’s Next Top Model was photographed at the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain yesterday. Her new film Honeydripper, starring Danny Glover and Charles S. Dutton is one of those 1950′s juke joint flicks.

Although I think I’ve seen enough 1950′s juke joint movies, it’s great to see an ANTM alum using her “fame” for something other than showing up at parties and posing in smutty magazines. Good for her.

Our favorite actor, Taye Diggs, made an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’ show today and discusses many things including he and his wife Idina Menzel moving to LA, their pets, and his new show Private Practice which is a spin off from Grey’s Anatomy. When Ellen asks if he will get a McSomething nickname on the show, Taye’s response was:

“I think they’re trying to steer away from all of those nicknames to try and give us our own style,” replied Diggs. “I always thought if they did go in that direction I could be McChocolatey.”

We have a few for Taye, maybe “McCorny”, “McSwirly”, “McLame-O”, “McGaylord” all sound about right. Click Here, here, and here for a reminder of Mr. Diggs’ wanksterish ways.
