Bey recently revealed to the Los Angeles Confidential magazine that she has never had a break-up, because Jay-Z was her first relationship. Is she saying that no other person has captured those bejeweled Dereon panties?:

“Well, fortunately I haven’t had any break-ups! This [her marriage to Jay Z] is my first relationship,” stated Bey when asked whose songs help her get through heartache the way her songs do for her fans.”

John McCain was number #10 and we find it hilarious that Hell’s Kitchen Chef Gordon Ramsey,#6, and Robert Downey Jr (who’s habitually in rehab), #4, have more influence than him.

Hopefully, Obama’s influence will be reflected in the polls in November as well. Yes We Can!!!!! and Yes We Are!!!!

Jim Brown shared his thoughts on MJ and Kobe:

The way Brown sees it, many of today’s athletes are simply in it for the money and celebrity, refusing to accept responsibility for having a huge impact on the culture around them. And he’s not afraid of naming names. “Athletes need to represent more than that just getting a big contract and lots of endorsements,” he says. “Take Michael Jordan. To me, he’s full of bull. He’s hiding his true self. All he cares about is getting ahead, being popular and enjoying the wealth of this country. Same with Kobe Bryant. For them, it’s all about making money and doing all the commercials.” Brown expects more from today’s athletes. After all, he walked the walk. When Muhammad Ali was stripped of his heavyweight title and threatened with jail time for refusing to register for the draft during the Vietnam War, it was Brown and Boston Celtics star Bill Russell who led a contingent of black athletes who offered Ali their support. “Sports is detrimental to the development of culture if all you’re willing to do is enjoy the fruits of this country,” he says. “You’ve got to reinvest in the culture, not just exploit it. Today people just want non-combative heroes, who smile and say all the right things. That’s fine, but that doesn’t mean you have to play the fool and shake your butt just because you caught a pass for a touchdown.”

Although we have always loved MJ, and ‘no comment’ on Kobe, those two guys have been almost non-existent when it comes to real issues facing Black America.

The Question of the Day is: Are athletes like MJ and Kobe responsible for investing in a positive future for Black America solely based on the fact that they are successful athletes?

The US Men’s Olympic Team won the Gold:

Order is restored in international basketball. The United States is back on top, but not by that much anymore. Culminating a three-year mission to end years of embarrassment, the U.S. Olympic team survived a huge challenge from Spain, winning 118-107 Sunday in the gold-medal game. After overwhelming everyone for seven games, the Americans led by only four points with under 2½ minutes to play. Then the U.S. proved it could handle a close game that seemed would never come in Beijing. Their prize: the first U.S. gold medal since the 2000 Olympics.

Word is, MJ straight dissed some young kid who was trying to get his autograph:

“The NBA legend was spotted waiting for his valet-parked car outside of Kobe Club in Miami when the youth approached and told him how great he was, says our spy: “The boy told Michael he was wearing Jordan sneakers and asked him if he could snap his photo. Michael kept walking and got in his car, leaving the kid behind in tears. He was so upset he threw the disposable camera on the ground and broke it.” Jordan’s sports agent did not return a call or e-mail.”

Damn Mike. Would it have killed you to turn your lanky ass around and hook that kid up a little? SMH.
