Aunt Viv is asking that the video that we reported on yesterday of her endorsing the Psychic Friends Network be pulled down:

After an infomercial video and flyers for her alleged campaign with The Psychic Friends Networks hit the web on Monday, actress Vivica A. Fox contacted BV Buzz exclusively to address the matter. In a statement that the star of ‘Two Can Play That Game’ and ‘Soul Food’ sent via e-mail late Monday night, she declared: “Vivica A. Fox is no friend of The Psychic Friends Network.” Fox is alleging that the footage circulating online “is using her unauthorized likeness, footage, voice and photographs as an endorsement of their service.” Additionally, Continue »

According to Livesteez, some crook pleaded guilty for clucking off medical records of stars from UCLA Medical Center in Cali:

A former employee of UCLA Medical Center pleaded guilty Monday to selling information from the medical records of celebrities and high-profile patients, including Britney Spears and Farrah Fawcett, to the National Enquirer. Lawanda Jackson, 49, spoke quietly as she entered her plea to the felony charge of violating federal medical privacy law for commercial purposes in U.S. District Court. She faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing is set for May, according to The Associated Press. Jackson worked as an administrative specialist at the UCLA hospitals for 32 years and in recent years began using her supervisor’s password to access medical records inappropriately, authorities said. The tabloid deposited checks totaling at least $4,600 into her husband’s checking account beginning in 2006, prosecutors said. Jackson resigned in July 2007 before she could be fired. Jackson and state officials have disclosed that records for Spears, Fawcett and California first lady Maria Shriver were among those breached.

Just like they do with dope dealers, they need to arrest the fiends who purchased these records and used them. Lawanda is a wash, lets get those fishing paps in Hollyweird that funded this madness.

If you thought this was one of those Cro-Magnon men from the Geico commercials, you are sadly mistaken. This is fashion icon, Donatella Versace with a face only a caring, church going, mother could love. She, like Kim, had lips already so there was no need to make them look like two rescue rafts.

*Breaking News* Obama’s Grandmother Has Passed Away

Sadly, Obama’s grandmother passed away one day before her grandson became the president:

A tragic turn of events for Sen. Barack Obama: his ailing grandmother died today. Here’s a statement from Obama and his sister Maya Soetoro-Ng:

“It is with great sadness that we announce that our grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died peacefully after a battle with cancer. She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility. She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and left this world with the knowledge that her impact on all of us was meaningful and enduring. Our debt to her is beyond measure.

“Our family wants to thank all of those who sent flowers, cards, well-wishes, and prayers during this difficult time. It brought our grandmother and us great comfort. Our grandmother was a private woman, and we will respect her wish for a small private ceremony to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to any worthy organization in search of a cure for cancer.”

R.I.P.

Below we have a images of Madelyn Dunham in a campaign commercial for Obama anda much older picture of her with her daughter and husband.

A Day Late and A Milli Short for ABC

ABC missed out on a million dollar payday to air Obama’s commercial according to Livesteez:

A half-hour Barack Obama campaign ad will blanket the major broadcast networks Wednesday night – except for ABC. ABC tried to reach an agreement with the Obama campaign to air the commercial on a different night in an attempt to protect its struggling Wednesday lineup, according to people familiar with the discussions who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to comment publicly. ABC had a change of heart, but by the time it decided to make the 8 p.m. EDT Wednesday slot available for the Democratic presidential candidate’s spot, his campaign had already finalized the ad buy, the source said. ABC will air an episode of the hourlong “Pushing Daisies” at that time as scheduled, according to The Associated Press. The Obama campaign bought time on CBS, NBC and Fox for $1 million per network. In Fox’s case, the ad will precede the resumption of rain-suspended Game 5 of the World Series in Philadelphia. Fox decided to pre-empt its World Series pre-game show for the Obama spot and will start its baseball coverage after the commercial’s 8:30 p.m. conclusion. The 30-minute spot, which was announced in early October, will air six days before the election between Obama and Republican candidate John McCain. It is also scheduled to run on Univision, BET, MSNBC and TV One.

If there is one thing that television networks can count on, it’s that America will be watching Barack Obama. We really wish we could have been there when they were deciding between airing Obama’s commercial or showing “Pushing Dasies.” SMH

The next First Lady already has a transcending beauty about her that doesn’t require a $150,000 wardrobe. She was recently on Jay Leno talking fashion among other things:

Michelle Obama, wife of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, , made a guest appearance on Jay Leno Monday, and the talk show host didn’t waste any time mentioning the recent controversy surrounding Sarah Palin’s lavish wardrobe. Questioned by Leno, the potential first lady declined to criticize GOP vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin about revelations that the Republican National Committee spent $150,000 at Neiman Marcus and other high-end retailers on clothes and accessories for Palin and her family, according to The Associated Press. “Actually, this is a J. Crew ensemble,” she told comedian Jay Leno. She wore a yellow sweater, skirt and blouse ensemble. “You can get some good stuff online,” she added. Obama said she and her husband have a policy of spending their own money on their clothes. But she said she wanted to be “empathetic.” “A V.P. pick, it’s like being shot out of a cannon. All of a sudden you’re at the center of attention, and you want to look good,” said Michelle Obama, adding she has never met Palin. “You’re living in your home, minding your business, and all of a sudden you’re on the national stage and everyone’s watching.”

What a classy first lady we will have. Pale-in would not respond remotely as tactfully as Michelle did. You know they would have been handing out flyers, blasting emails, and running commercials if Michelle had spent that kind of money on anything.

Question of the Day

Jim Brown shared his thoughts on MJ and Kobe:

The way Brown sees it, many of today’s athletes are simply in it for the money and celebrity, refusing to accept responsibility for having a huge impact on the culture around them. And he’s not afraid of naming names. “Athletes need to represent more than that just getting a big contract and lots of endorsements,” he says. “Take Michael Jordan. To me, he’s full of bull. He’s hiding his true self. All he cares about is getting ahead, being popular and enjoying the wealth of this country. Same with Kobe Bryant. For them, it’s all about making money and doing all the commercials.” Brown expects more from today’s athletes. After all, he walked the walk. When Muhammad Ali was stripped of his heavyweight title and threatened with jail time for refusing to register for the draft during the Vietnam War, it was Brown and Boston Celtics star Bill Russell who led a contingent of black athletes who offered Ali their support. “Sports is detrimental to the development of culture if all you’re willing to do is enjoy the fruits of this country,” he says. “You’ve got to reinvest in the culture, not just exploit it. Today people just want non-combative heroes, who smile and say all the right things. That’s fine, but that doesn’t mean you have to play the fool and shake your butt just because you caught a pass for a touchdown.”

Although we have always loved MJ, and ‘no comment’ on Kobe, those two guys have been almost non-existent when it comes to real issues facing Black America.

The Question of the Day is: Are athletes like MJ and Kobe responsible for investing in a positive future for Black America solely based on the fact that they are successful athletes?

Gas Prices Ain’t No Joke

Diddy discusses how gas prices have effected his private jet action:

Maybe Knicks point guard Stephon Marbury should have consulted Sean Combs before he bought himself a private jet. Marbury – in the last year of his Knicks contract, which will pay him another $21 million – is said to have plunked down about $45 million for the aircraft. But Combs, who already owns a jet, isn’t using it because fuel costs have skyrocketed. The hip-hop mogul explains on Diddy Blog No. 12, which he videotaped in an airline terminal before boarding a commercial flight, “Gas prices are too mother[bleep]ing high,” Combs says, wearing an off-kilter Yankees cap. “I’ve been flying back and forth to LA pursuing my acting career. If I fly back and forth twice a month, that’s like $250,000 round trip. [Bleep] that! I’m back on American Airlines now . . . and I’m in coach!”

250 stacks for a plane ride, and that’s just in gas? We would’ve said fu*k that shyte too.

Another Day, Another Lawsuit

Mary is about to have some legal woes:

Mary J. Blige is facing a $2 million federal suit claiming music on her most recent No. 1 album, “Growing Pains,” was stolen. Producer Theron (NEEF-U) Feemster wrote the music for the song “Work That,” but the tune is owned by Dream Family Entertainment Inc., according to a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Manhattan Federal Court. The court filing claims the New York-based firm never gave Blige, Feemster or Geffen Records, the distributor, rights to use the song.

“Mr. Feemster created the music while he was under contract with Dream Family. Dream Family then owned the music, yet the music was used without permission in a Mary J. Blige release recording,” said Dream lawyer Brian Caplan.

“It was released as an album, a single and in a commercial,” Caplan said. Rights to the lyrics of the song – which was featured with Blige in an iPod commercial – are not in question. Caplan said it was unclear if Blige knew the music belonged to someone other than Feemster, and said the producer “had no rights to the music he used.”

That’s pretty much how it goes down in the music industry. Mary ain’t stuntin no measley 2 Million anyway..
