You can expect multiple surprises when you watch the 2008 BET Hip Hop awards on Oct 23rd, 2008. Well, they might not be surprises anymore but you know you want that exclusive. Bossip staff was there for the barrage of bling, Obamania, and skankocity that was this year’s hip hop awards show.

Ludacris and TI opened the show with their new song, “Wish you would.”

We told you that T-pain and his vocoder had to host because Katt Williams was ganked up by one-time. For what, you ask? Stay tuned…. During his opening monologue, T-Pain said, “I got a call around 4am this morning asking if I could host the show.” The circus ape was actually quite hilarious and even did a segment with his beloved vocoder where the machine referred to itself as “Ike” and T-Pain as “Tina.”

In a recent interview, Rick Ross continued to deny ever being a corrections officer:

“In the game we in, it’s real competitive,” Ross told Power 98.3 FM. “Competitors have to do what they have to do to eat. We making the best music. Y’all seen the BET Awards, y’all saw the magazine. We the biggest in the game, we the best in the game. Just keeping it real. And anytime somebody can attack my character, like I said, you get nothing from the Boss. I don’t give haters the pleasure.“

“When you get to my level, you’re a great conversation piece,” Rick Ross calmly explained. “I’m big on the blogs, I’m big on the magazines, and I appreciate that as an artist. That’s why I’m in the game. I got in this game to introduce people and to make great music. And that’s what it’s about.

“We gon’ keep the records coming, we gon’ keep the music coming. Like I said, I’m one of the realest sources of this real street music in this game. Straight out of Miami, straight out of M-I-Yayo. One of my closest homies was on America’s Most Wanted.”

Ross also revealed that he and Foxy Brown were no longer an item.

Is the fact that he claims to know someone who was once on America’s Most Wanted supposed to prove something? He probably met that dude while he was working at the pen. SMH.

Bossip had the pleasure of chatting with the beautiful and talented actress recently. We asked Sanaa about all those gay rumors. In her words:

I’m not gay (laughs). I have nothing against the gay lifestyle at all. I have a lot of great girlfriends. I would call myself a girl’s girl meaning I really have great friends, I’m not one of those women who doesn’t like to be around other beautiful women, because some women are threatened by that. Regina Hall is a great friend of mine; Gabrielle Union is a great friend of mine. I have good girlfriends; they’re like my sisters.

So good, we had to do it twice.

During his trip to London, the press asked if he was interested in getting down with politics, Hovvy Hov responded:

“No, they’ll kill me in 30 seconds. ‘S**t! This guy’s in!’ Bang! Ha ha! I won’t make it past the primaries! “They talk about Obama’s priest – imagine what they’d do to me!”

Steve Wonder is also in the news again. The music legend caught some feelings over Nas’ choice for the name of his newest album title (despite the fact that it’s been changed):

“I’m not with the word only [Ni**er] in that we had buried the word and it should have been buried. “People say, ‘Well we use it for fun and whatever.’ I’m not really feeling it and I know sometimes it comes in (to) conversation… For all the pain that has happened over the years, what that word brings up, it needs to go away.”

Bossip spies were in full effect at the BET after party at Mr. Chow’s last night, and here’s what went down:

Lisa Raye was “drunk as f*ck” and was inviting random heads to visit Turks and Caicos. Apparently Mel B is pretty pleasant, but hubby Stephen Belafonte keeps her on a short leash and “never took his eyes off that ass.” Toni Braxton was looking smaller than usual (we hope her health is on the up and up.) Busta Rhymes was acting rather standoffish and Jazze Pha is “fatter than ever.”

Our spies also had the pleasure of sharing a table with Keyshia Coles’ mother and sister, who are allegedly quite “ghetto” and were heard cussing like sailors. And for some pure comedy, Ray J’s weak ass couldn’t even get in to the party. The reason? He wasn’t on guest list.

Newlyweirds Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey (Cannon) were made their first public appearance together last night outside the Waverly Inn. They are an odd item indeed. Word is Nick prevented Mimi from dropping $4 mill on a lavish wedding:

“The 38-year-old singer — known for her diva demands — had arranged a $4m wedding, but Cannon said it was his way or the highway. Mariah had: Ordered $1m worth orchards; booked a huge event at New York’s St Patrick’s Cathedral; arranged a pink carpet to be rolled out to announce her arrival at the Cathedral; ordered 60 white doves to be released while she and Nick were making their vows; and commissioned a $20,000 Vera Wang bridal gown and matching bridesmaids frocks. And now, because Mariah agreed to the small ceremony, pals [say] Nick has cured her diva-ish ways.”

Here is Rihanna acting like like she can’t wait to go back to the crib and get broke off. The couple was spotted at a KFC in Wednesday night. Although recently denying Breezy is soaking up her little panties and suggesting they are just friends, the pictures say it all.

Rihanna recently said her and Breezy are “very close”.

Looks like Foxy’s prayers have been answered:

“Foxy Brown has entered a guilty plea in an assault case involving her Brooklyn neighbor and a fiercely-placed Blackberry telephone.

Brown plead guilty to one misdemeanor charge of menacing in Brooklyn Criminal Court today, and the prosecution threw out the felony assault charge stemming from the 2007 incident, in which Foxy allegedly smacked Arlene Raymond with the phone. The two were arguing about the noise made by the rapper’s car stereo.

Brown, born Inga Marcharnd, was sentenced to time served, and a letter of apology was submitted. Foxy’s legal woe’s, which have haunted her for the past two years, seem to finally be drawing to close.”

Hopefully this will be the last we here from Inga and all this drama. Now that she’s back in the studio and working on her little Vh1 show maybe, just maybe, she’ll quit acting like some kind of hood-rat.
