According to Livesteez, The Don, at 72, was just popped for beating his chick’s @ss at his crib in Van Nuys, CA and is facing serious time:

Don Cornelius, former host of “Soul Train,” has been charged in connection with two domestic incidents involving his wife last month by the Los Angeles city attorney. Cornelius was charged with spousal battery, assault with a deadly weapon and dissuading a witness from making a police report, all misdemeanors, city attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan said Friday. The married 72-year-old producer was taken to jail last month after police were called to his Hollywood Hills home following a report of domestic dispute, The Assoicated Press is reporting. Cornelius was released on $50,000 bail. He could face up to one year in prison for each of the five misdemeanor charges.

The Don is stuck in a time when you would be able to hit that pipe all night, whoop some tail in a crack stuper, then wake up the next day like nothing happened. It’s a new day, so get it together, old man. SMH

According to TMZ, The Don got “popped” messing around with one of his Nicole Simpson’s:

Don Cornelius of “Soul Train” was arrested last night on felony domestic violence. It went down on Mulholland Drive in L.A. in the early evening. Someone called from Cornelius’ home and LAPD responded to a “domestic dispute.” After arriving on scene, they arrested 72-year-old Cornelius on charges of felony domestic violence. He was taken to the LAPD jail in Van Nuys where his bail was set at $50,000. He was released at 5 AM. Cornelius is married to Victoria although the identity of the victim has not been released. The victim was not taken to the hospital and injuries are unknown.

The Don is from another time. He is too damn decrepit and feeble to be scrapping up those young tenders he’s been swirling around with.  SMH

A Bossip spy who hit up BDR’s Art for Life event over the weekend says the after party ended prematurely:

The party just started to jump off this past Saturday night at Russell Simmons’ house following the awards ceremony for Art For Life, when revelers got the word from local cops it was time to go home. Honoree Grant Hill and his wife R&B songstress Tamia among other VIP guests were in mid groove to the to the hit tunes of DJ MOS with Radio Personality Ed Lover on the mic, inciting the impromptu dance party to form an old school “Soul Train”. Even Hampton socialites couldn’t resist and joined the train until the plug got pulled.

Typical 5-0 move. SMH.

After last year, we should’ve seen this coming:

“The Soul Train Music Awards have been scrapped for 2008. The annual ceremony celebrates the best in black music and entertainment in North America, and has been running for more than 20 years. This year’s event would have marked the 22nd installment of the Soul Train Music Awards, but the reason behind the cancellation has yet to be disclosed.

Last year’s ceremony lacked the presence of the main nominees, including John Legend, Gnarls Barkley and superstars Beyonce Knowles and Mary J. Blige, after scheduling conflicts meant they were unable to attend the event.

However, the awards show – which usually takes place a few weeks after the prestigious Grammy Awards – has also been under increased scrutiny since Soul Train, the TV dance show it was based on, was brought to an end in 2006. It is currently unclear whether future Soul Train Music Awards would be affected by the 2008 announcement.”

With so many Black artists scrambling to clear their schedule for the “prestigious” Grammy’s, they neglected to participate in this cultural institution last year. Now it appears that the Soul Train Awards may never come back. We’d like to see them overturn their decision about canceling this year. The mostly D-List celebrity line up was pretty entertaining last year. SMH.

In the current issue of Sister to Sister Magazine, Marques Houston brags he is “packin”. He also dismisses rumors that he is gay. He says the gay rumors started back when he was in Immature and rocked a “super-press” perm:

“If you ain’t a hardcore killer rapper, you’re gay! That’s just a rumor. As soon as you’re an R&B singer.”

Now that we got all that out the way, can he now explain sitting on that man’s back and rockin’ those Leprechaun shoes at the Soul Train Awards? In the interview, Marques Houston denied dating Kim Kardashian and said he is currently dating an older woman in the entertainment industry.

JENNIFER Hudson might be letting her Oscar win for Best Supporting Actress in “Dreamgirls” go to her head. Besides tangling last week with Simon Cowell of “American Idol,” the show that gave the ungrateful diva her big break, the singer tried to back out of performing at Saturday’s taping of the Soul Train Awards show in Los Angeles. “Jennifer called Friday and said she couldn’t make it,” said our source. “Soul Train” producer Don Cornelius immediately called Clive Davis, the legendary J Records mogul who created the careers of Whitney Houston, Alicia Keyes and dozens of other artists. “Clive called Jennifer and read her the riot act. He said, ‘Get you’re ass out to L.A.’ and then hung up on her.”

A year ago Jennifer Hudson was an American Idol reject and now she is too good for “everyone”. No one watches the FUBU Soul Train Music Awards anymore but damn, if they honor your ass, make the trip when you’re just starting out. You get an Oscar, a Vogue Magazine Cover, and a new Beyonce lacefront wig and all of a sudden an award show has to beg you to come and get honored. She needs to fall back.

Although Chingy has denied dating Keisha Knight-Pulliam, they were spotted looking like a couple last night. You know he is hittin’ that. We know “lil Rudy” is a wild one . Babyface showed up with his girl, one of his former tour dancers who happens to look like a bootleg Tracey Edmonds.
