Fabolous speaks out on his involvement in his friend’s murder recently:

“On Thanksgiving, I think I came out of the house one time – to go get eggnog. And there wasn’t any eggnog at Club Duvet. It was very much a shock to me. When you hear stuff happened to bad guys, you’re like, ‘Okay, yeah, it was coming to them.’ Shamel’s not that kind of person. I was waiting to hear more of the story. As Bossip exclusively reported Thursday, sources are now confirming that Fabulous’ crew “The Street Family” robbed Boston Celtics star Sebastian Telfair’s (AKA Bassy) $50,000 dollar chain. The New York Daily News is reporting today that everything was caught on tape. The video shows Brooklyn based friends of Fabolous snatching Bassy’s chain and then coming into Diddy’s restaurant Justin’s. Bassy followed them into the restaurant and saw them laughing with Fabolous. The video reportedly shows Bassy made a quick phone call to his homies, including his brother Sylvester and then dumped on Fabolous and his crew outside in the parking lot when the help arrived. The video shows Telfair pulling out his cell while in Justin’s and calling his homies to dump in retaliation for the chain robbery.

We reported yesterday that Bassy’s brother Sylvester who has served time in Rikers for attempted murder was thought to be the one involved in the shooting of Fabolous. According to the New York Daily News , Ed Hayes, Telfair’s (Bassy) lawyer says the basketball star “merely called a family member” after the robbery.

Sources tell Bossip that the “streets” and police are both looking at Celtics basketball star Sebastian Telfair and associates of his brother Sylvester( who served time in Rikers Island for attemped murder but was later cleared) as possible suspects in the Fabolous shooting. Telfair who is from the projects and the cousin of NBA player Stephan Marbury had his $50,000 chain snatched that night.

The fact that Fabolous was shot in the same parking garage where Telfair or “Bassy” had his chain snatched has raised suspicions as to whether the robbery and shooting are related. Sources tell Bossip that Fabolous’ entourage were included in a police lineup related to the chain snatching. Fabolous has hired an attorney, Alberto Ebanks to get ready for accusations he and his associates were involved in the robbery of Bassy’s $50,000 chain. Sources say Bassy was very uncooperative with the NYPD investigation of the robbery of his own chain. Another source says the NYPD’s dealings with Bassy’s stolen chain is secondary, they are primarily looking at him for information related to the Fabolous shooting.
