According to TMZ reports:

We didn’t think it was possible — but Ne-Yo’s baby mama just broke the African-child-adopting records set by Madonna AND Angelina Jolie … combined … agreeing to adopt 48 children in Swaziland.

Full disclosure — Monyetta Shaw’s not actually taking 48 children back to the United States with her … but she did agree to pay for their living costs for an entire year … a nearly $20,000 commitment.

Sources tell TMZ, “Football Wives” star Chanita Foster (below) — who founded a charity called Beyond the Game to provide children in Swaziland with food, clothes, and education — got in touch with Monyetta about sponsoring a child or two … and Monyetta agreed.

But we’re told, once Monyetta saw the 48 young faces in the charity’s brochure — she fell in love … and insisted on adopting all of them.

Each kid costs roughly $30 a month — and Monyetta adopted 48 for an entire year … which means she’s in for $17,280. Not bad.

Well it’s good to know that Monyetta (and Ne-Yo ’cause let’s be honest, she’s spending HIS money) are doing something positive to make up for the fawkery that we witnessed at Magic City

Seventh Coast Guard District chief of staff, Capt. Richard Kenin presented the coveted Silver Lifesaving Medal award to Petty Officer 3rd Class John Rivera for the rescue of R&B artist Sean Kingston after his accident on a personal water craft on Memorial Day weekend, 2011. Rivera was off duty and on his personal boat near Miami Beach’s Star Island bridge and saw Kingston go under water after he struck a bridge on his personal watercraft. Rivera immediately jumped in and kept him afloat until additional help arrived. He was honored by colleagues during a ceremony at Coast Guard Air Station Miami.

Hopefully Sean looked out for him in another “special” way… *rubs palms together*

A positive ending for a truly sad story…

A few days ago, a Kenyan man named Omari was released from the hospital after recovering from injuries sustained while defending an orphanage from a band of roving thugs— by himself. They slashed him in the face with a machete, leaving him with a large wound that required stitches. After the incident, a founder of the Longonot Education Initiative appealed to community members of Reddit, asking for $2,000 so the orphanage could build a wall to protect them. A modest request for a worthy cause. So, how much did they raise for Omari and the orphanage?

The Reddit community raised more than $50,000 to help Omari and the children of the Faraja Orphanage in Ngong, Kenya.

Donations poured in, and within hours they’d surpassed their goal. But Redditors weren’t done yet. After 14 hours, they’d reached the final $50,000 figure, and it seems that donations haven’t stopped. Included in the orgy of giving was a $10,000 donation from Weebly, a company that allows users to create their own blogs and websites for free.

What a great ending! It’s kind of amazing to see people gathering together to perform an act of incredible goodness for a group of strangers.

See Kimmy Cakes does have a heart. The celebrity socialite raised major racks for a special charity devoted to keeping gay youth alive.

A few years ago, Kim Kardashian was a presenter for the Trevor Project’s annual fundraiser and never forgot their powerful message of helping save young lives from suicide.

So when the star did a charity event with Cantor Fitzgerald, an investment bank that gives away millions every year on 9/11 to honor their employees who died in the attack, she picked the Trevor Project as her charity.

The non-profit that takes calls from gay and questioning youth has call centers in Los Angeles, New York and in San Francisco — in the very spot that Harvey Milk took calls when he was a Supervisor in the 70s.

So Kim helped raise $50,000 — making her one of the largest celebrity donors to the organization joining the ranks of Daniel Radcliffe and Jodie Foster, who have made substantial contributions over the years.

A source close to Kim tells RumorFix, “It’s important to Kim to support The Trevor Project because lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people face extreme levels of hate and discrimination in her generation and she knows that they need safe places like the Trevor Project to turn for help.”

We’re told that the Kourtney and Kim Take New York star is so impressed with the Trevor Project that she’s planning to visit the call center in the near future.

Jonathan Cheban would be so proud! Oh wait… Kris Humphries would be so proud! Oh… yeah um, well aren’t you proud of her?

Zoe Saldana rushed to the aid of a women injured in a car accident yesterday.

As the “Avatar” star was driving through Los Angeles, she witnessed a traffic accident involving an older woman, reports the Daily Mail. Saldana rushed out of her car to help the woman, whose face has been bloodied in the impact. Saldana helped the woman out of her car and seated her on the curb, with the help of another bystander. Saldana then whipped out her cell phone and called 911. She stayed with the woman until an ambulance arrived.

Not to take anything away from Zoe — what she did was really nice — but it’s sad that acting like a decent human being is what we now consider heroism from celebrities.

All the same, good job Zoe. All that action hero training has paid off.

Had his life not been cut short on April 4, 1968, Dr. King would have been 83 today. But he once said that his number of years were not what mattered:

“Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I’m not concerned about that now. I just want to do God’s will. And He’s allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I’ve looked over. And I’ve seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people will get to the promised land.”

And if you are a person of color living in America, there is no denying that Dr. King played a great role to getting you to your “promised land.”

New parents Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles are donating their baby gifts to charity.

The superstar couple have been inundated with presents since welcoming their daughter Blue Ivy into the world on Saturday and while they are very grateful they want to give the majority of items to those less fortunate.

A source said: “They’ve been sent literally hundreds of gifts in the past few days. Oprah Winfrey gave a huge trunk of children’s books and others like P. Diddy, Kanye West, Rihanna and Mariah Carey have all been sending luxurious baby treats.

“Jay-Z and Beyonce have decided to donate a massive selection of the presents to local charities for young mothers. They’ve already got the most precious gift – their new baby daughter – so they want to help out other parents who haven’t been as fortunate.”

However, there is one item the couple want to keep for their daughter – a diamond-encrusted [pacifier].

The source added to the Daily Star newspaper: “A close friend of theirs in the music industry gave them a diamond-encrusted Cartier [pacifier] – it must have cost $20,000. Blue has officially got her first piece of bling!”

Two things: a) the donations are gonna be a very good look for the hood; b) how are we making $20,000 pacifiers in a world where babies start starving at birth???

But that’s neither here nor there. You know how much Beyonce’s gratitude for her pre-natal and delivery care was worth?

It’s better to give than to receive and Beyonce and Jay-Z are doing just that with many of the gifts given to their beautiful new baby Blue Ivy Carter.
