Six kids and some odd years later, Brad Pitt is ready to “Do the right thing”:

Brad Pitt may finally be ready to make an honest woman out of Angelina Jolie. In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning (airing January 29), the Academy Award nominee says his six children are begging him to propose to In the Land of Blood and Honey director Jolie, 36.

“We’re getting a lot of pressure from the kids,” Pitt, 48, says. “It means something to them.” Pitt admits he hasn’t “been very good” at explaining why he and Jolie have put marriage on hold since first becoming a couple in 2005. “We will someday. We will,” Pitt promises. “That’s a great idea.”

When his brood of six — Maddox, 10, Pax, 8, Zahara, 7, Shiloh, 5, and Knox and Vivienne, 3 — asked him to “get mommy a ring,” Pitt vowed: “Okay, I will! I will.”

It’s about damn time. Glad to see folks trying to work it out with all that divorce action that has been going on these days.

Because, clearly, Zahara’s hair is a much bigger issue than the thousands of kids in her native Ethopia who have been dying of hunger over the past few months.

Little Zahara Jolie-Pitt recently debuted a new look, showing off a full head of long hair extensions.

However, at just six years old, she is far too young to be wearing braided hair extensions, a leading hairstylist has warned.

Celebrity groomer DaRico Jackson tells RadarOnline.com that Angelina Jolie’s daughter should not be putting such a strain on her tender locks.

“If Angelina wants Zahara to be in touch with her roots and have her hair braided then she can do that with the child’s own hair and she doesn’t need to add extensions,” Jackson stated.

“She is far too young for that and Angelina is creating insecurity in the little girl that what she has is not good enough.

Okay, we can’t even let this conversation continue. We’re pretty sure Brad and Angelina, especially Brad, have made sure that Zahara knows she is not her hair.

When asked how much longer he’d like to keep acting, the 47-year-old answers, “Three years.”

Yes, Pitt says he plans to step off-camera and get behind it by the age of 50. “I am really enjoying the producing side and development of stories and putting those pieces together,” Pitt says. “Getting stories to the plate that might have had a tougher times otherwise.”

Despite his desire to call it a career, Pitt is far from done with expanding his motley band of children with his wife Angelina Jolie.

Something he may not be ready to say goodbye to? The possibility of expanding the Jolie-Pitt family! “You know, I don’t know that we’re finished,” Pitt says. “I don’t know yet. I don’t know.”

With six children, Pitt says he “obviously” enjoys the chaos and that the lack of sleep is fine with him right now. “Those late nights are so fun when one of them’s up or those mornings when they get up and make pancakes or something. That’s what it’s about.”

Aww, isn’t that sweet, Brad sounds like a happy father and husband. With a wife like Angelina we can’t blame him…
