According to Livesteez, the Michigan pioneer MC Breed passed away due to Kidney failure yesterday. He had been fighting it since September:

Midwest rapper MC Breed, born Eric Breed, was found dead today (Nov. 22) after suffering kidney failure. He was 36. Breed’s manager Darryl Morris confirmed that the rapper was found dead at a friend’s home in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the Detroit News is reporting. In September, Breed collapsed on a basketball court. He was taken to the hospital and put on life support due to kidney failure. He was taken off life support days later, according to SOHH.com. Helping the Mid-West rise to popularity within hip-hop, the Michigan-bred emcee is known for gaining notice as an independent artist with a number of early 1990′s albums, including MC Breed & DFC, 20 Below, The New Breed and Funkafied. Breed’s career spans 20-years and 13 albums. Breed also famously collaborated with various West Coast rap stars including Too Short, Warren G and the late Tupac Shakur.

R.I.P. Breed, your family is in our prayers.

El Debarge was caught with Rocks again:

The “original” falsetto king El DeBarge is serving time behind bars following an encounter with police in Los Angeles. According to reports, the former DeBarge frontman was charged with possession of a controlled substance, after he was arrested on Monday the 27th of this month. The incident marks another setback for DeBarge, born Patrick Eldra DeBarge, who was arrested and jailed earlier this month after two warrants for his arrest were discovered by authorities. The singer was charged with several offenses last year, including vandalism, drugs and domestic violence.

El Debarge has been smoking rocks since the early 80′s while pimping and slappin ho’s. The 47yr old still hangs out in Compton hoods performing with DJ Quick, and we knew this was imminent. This explains one of his greatest songs, I Like It.

Update, El Debarge sent to 2 yrs in the bing about a hr ago. Poor Debarge will be doing a couple bullets, we guess, Time Will Reveal, if he can shake that rock.

The veteran MC Buckshot Shorty recently had seizures and was sent to emergency:

Black Moon rapper Buckshot Shorty has been hospitalized after suffering a series of seizures.  The Brooklyn-based hip-hop star was forced to seek emergency medical treatment after returning from a tour in Europe. He is currently in a stable condition in hospital. Buckshot’s hospitalization means the rap trio has been forced to reschedule a reunion concert in New York which was due to take place on Friday.  A statement from the star’s Duck Down Records music label reads, “While of course we are disappointed to have to reschedule a sold out show, obviously nothing takes precedent over Buckshot’s health. If he could walk out of that hospital on his own right now I know he would have been on that stage. He was truly looking forward to this night.” The show has been rearranged for November and disappointed fans have been offered refunds.

If you do not know who Black Moon, Buckshot Shorty, or the Boot Camp Click is than you do not know anything about the prime of hip hop. We sincerely hope he gets better and pulls through.
