Two of the most dominant, divisive and successful crews in Hip-Hop are G.O.O.D. Music and YMCMB. At one time, the two factions headed by Kanye West and Lil Wayne, respectively, were quite chummy. Somewhere along the way however, as their success grew and grew, their friendship went astray.

But to understand how it went all bad, you have to remember that at one time it was all good (or G.O.O.D.). Hip-Hop Wired takes a look at the long and storied history of the YMCMB vs. G.O.O.D. Music Cold War. Whose side are you on?

Nicki Minaj Deletes Her Twitter Account

The Barbz have gone mad. On Sunday (April 15), Nicki Minaj deactivated her Twitter account leaving millions of her fans and followers awaiting her comeback– but that may not happen. After getting into a Twitter tiff with some of her followers, Nicki pulled the plug on her account. “Like seriously, its but so much a person can take. Good f–king bye,” she wrote. before vanishing from the social networking site.

The offending site, NickiDaily.com is also down, stripped of all of it’s content with only the word “closed” posted. Instead of their Barbie-related content, the site just plays the somber sounding “Dear Old Nicki” in a loop. The track which appeared on Minaj’s 2010 debut is rather appropriate. On it she raps to her former self: “And tell me that you coming back that you just took a break/Maybe I blamed you for everything, that was my mistake.”

Whether NickiDaily was the exact reason that the Young Money star deleted her Twitter is unclear. There are few artists who have a closer relationship with her fans than Nicki, and fewer artists who are as big as her on Twitter. Last week the Harajuku Barbie landed the #1 album in the country with her sophomore effort Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded after selling 253,000 copies in its first week.

X just can’t get right…

According to TMZ reports:

DMX is on the hook for another $630,000 — this according to a booking agency which claims X’s legal problems torpedoed a lucrative international comeback tour … and now, it’s suing to get its money back.

The booking agency in question — a company called Heavy Rotation — filed the lawsuit in New York, claiming it struck an exclusive year-long deal with DMX in 2011 to book the rapper’s concerts … anywhere on the planet.

But according to the lawsuit, DMX was plagued with legal problems from the start — a traffic violation in August, and two nasty child support disputes … which led to a lien on the rapper’s passport, preventing him from performing overseas.

According to the suit, HR bent over backwards to fix the legal issues — coughing up nearly a hundred grand to cover bail, child support, and a slew of other legal bills … hoping it would clear the way for the tour, a task that included lifting the lien on X’s passport.

But HR claims its efforts were in vain — because DMX continued to cause problems, hiring outside management that tried to book DMX on shows within the United States … violating X’s agreement with HR. On top of that, X couldn’t resolve his passport issues … and all concerts had to be canceled.

X’s manager Jason tells a different story — claiming DMX chose to sever all ties with HR after it put the rapper at risk with some unsavory business practices.

Still, HR claims it lost $749,285 on the deal gone bad — and it wants the money back, stat.

So these guys plan a tour and X goes off and does whatever he wants to do? Sounds about right. Crack cocaine is helluva drug!

According to TMZ reports:

The State of North Carolina is fed up with rapper Waka Flocka’s so-called “security team” — and now, it’s telling them to stay the hell away … this according to new legal docs.

The rapper — real name Juaquin Malphurs — was just slapped with a cease and desist letter by the North Carolina Protective Services Board, saying Waka’s security team is unwelcome at his upcoming concerts this month … because they are unlicensed in the state.

In the letter, the NC Board cites a tour bus incident in Charlotte, NC last year — when members of Waka’s entourage opened fire on cars after being shot at … an incident that resulted in at least two arrests.

Now, NC ain’t taking any chances — refusing to allow ANY members of Waka’s entourage to engage in private or protective security services while Waka’s in the Tar Heel State. If they fail to comply, the NC Protective Services Board promises to file criminal charges.

Sources close to the rapper tell TMZ, the NCPSB is merely trying to harass them — insisting they have the right to self-defense like anyone else. We’re told Waka and his team are currently exploring their legal options.

Good luck booking Flocka in North Cack if he can’t bring his shooters with him…

According to a Celebuzz source who was backstage at Sunday’s Grammy Awards in LA, they saw the rappers get into not one, but two separate fights. Each time, the arguments had to be broken up by “uniformed police.”

After admitting to rapping about Drake in one of his songs, Common claimed earlier in the night, that the two had long since buried the hatchet.

The rapper told Fuse:

“It was all in the art of Hip Hop but it’s kind of over now. It’s over. But it was all in the art of Hip Hop. He said some things to me so I had to say some things back… I wouldn’t say [he started it] but I know I heard something that I felt was directed to me so I addressed it. That’s all. But you know, thank God we were able to move forward from it and all is good.”

Now, now, boys, both of you put on your matching lamb’s wool cardigans and go sit in the corner until you cool off.

“The Camel’s” music can once again be blasted from the backs of camels all across Pakistan!

An effort to ban hip-hop music in Pakistani schools has instead turned into a lesson in tolerance in a nation where religious fundamentalism has been on the rise.

In late January, Pakistan’s Punjab Assembly passed a resolution to end “objectionable” music concerts in public and private schools. But the measure was widely repudiated in the media for impinging on free creative expression.

“What’s next? A resolution seeking a ban on wearing jeans in academic institutions?” one assembly member asked during the ensuing debate.

A few days after it passed, the measure was overturned. The abrupt about-face highlights the sometimes tense balance in Pakistan between a youth culture raised on a constant diet of YouTube and Facebook and conservative Pakistanis willing to curb certain freedoms for the sake of tradition and cultural integrity.

The fracas evidently was sparked, at least in part, by two recent incidents. In January, three young women were trampled to death after a concert at a Punjab college by popular Pakistani singer Atif Aslam. Three months earlier, the FEW Collective, a hip-hop group from Chicago, performed in Islamabad and ran afoul of the Pakistani military; the group was detained when one member was accused of photographing sensitive installations in Rawalpindi.

Punjab assembly member Seemal Kamran introduced the anti-rap resolution and pushed it through the provincial assembly. “I live in this society and everybody knows it is a conservative society,” she said in an interview. “In the U.S. and Canada and England they have these things. It’s okay with them because it’s their culture.”

C’mon people! You can’t ban hip-hop! The Indian culture help give hip-hop one of it’s best songs of the summer of 2003.

According to TMZ reports:

Don’t expect to catch Nicki Minaj’s latest music video “Stupid H*e” on BET — because TMZ has learned the network is REFUSING to air it.

We spoke with a rep for BET who wouldn’t specify exactly why the network has banned the video — simply saying BET will not be broadcasting it.

But sources at the company tell us, the ban was put in place because the video’s just too explicit for TV.

The song lyrics alone are bad enough — repeating the phrase “stupid h*e” dozens of times — but the video itself is damn raunchy too, showing several nearly naked female figures. Normally this is where we’d post the video … but in this case, just Google it.

It’s pretty great — especially if you like Nicki’s butt in a thong.

I like his music.” “I don’t think I had anything to prove,” Common says. “I just felt like somebody stepped and challenged me, so I had to step into the ring. He said some things that I thought were directed at me, so I had to address it back.”

Now that it’s all out in the open, Common is ready to move on. “I feel like I said what I had to say, and I’m just going to let it be at that point,” he says. “Now, if something else happens, then I’ll just have to act accordingly. But right now, I feel like, man, I said what I needed to say about this situation on record.”

Adds Common: “It’s nothing like, ‘Oh man, it’s so personal.’ It’s just the art of rhyming, man. The art of rhyming!”
