British Man Arrested For Bringing Fetuses Into Taiwan

Police in Bangkok yesterday arrested a man who had in his possession six roasted fetuses aged two to seven months. It was unclear how they were initially obtained.

“We have to send the bodies for forensic test to identify whether they were foetuses, removed illegally by abortion, or corpses of babies,” said Lt. Col. Kittima Thongchai, who busted Chow Hok Kuen in the city’s Chinatown district.

The 28-year-old British citizen of Taiwanese origin was reportedly attempting to smuggle the fetuses into Taiwan. He told investigators he purchased them on the Internet for $6,500, and was going to sell them for much more to people who planned to use them as good luck charms.

A black magic ritual known as Kuman thong — an effigy soaked in an extract made from stillborn babies meant to bring its owner prosperity — is apparently still practiced by some in the region.

Chow Hok Kuen, who says he was working for another man, now faces up to a year in prison, as well as a fine of 2,000 baht (~$65).

People have really lost their muhfuggin’ minds nowadays! Furthermore, how the hell does this kind of disgusting crime only get you a year in prison and $65 fine?!?!?! Something is terribly wrong with the world…

Pastor Marvin Winans was robbed and carjacked at a Detroit gas station Wednesday afternoon.

Winans was at the Citgo Gas Station at Linwood and the Davison when he was robbed. The carjackers robbed him and took his deep purple Infiniti QX56 SUV.

The license plate number on the vehicle is 0DRT73. Detroit Police are searching for the suspects.

He was not hurt in the incident, but was roughed up.

Pastor Winans told Action News he felt something was wrong when he came out of the gas station’s convenience store.

He says four men followed him out and assaulted him while he was pumping gas. They robbed him, punched him and even ripped off his pants.

Pastor Winans says he’s ok, but is more saddened that it has come to this.

“This kind of nonsense just has to stop… it’s just the savageness of what’s happening in the streets. We just have to take a look at ourselves and say this has to stop,” said Pastor Winans.

The legendary pastor most recently gave the eulogy at Whitney Houston’s funeral.

Ex-NYPD Cops Sentenced To 75 Years For Sexually Assaulting Woman At Gunpoint

Former cop Michael Pena, convicted of terrorizing and sexually assaulting a Manhattan school teacher at gunpoint, will be 103 years old when he gets his first shot at parole.

Pena, 27, got hit Monday with a 75-year-to-life sentence which means that he will likely die in prison.

The sentence brought a rare smile to the face of the 25-year-old victim, who was outraged when the same jury that convicted Pena of sexual assault deadlocked on whether he actually raped her.

“That day was supposed to be a new beginning for me,” the nervous victim told the court in a high-pitched voice before Pena was sentenced. “My life has been shattered.”

She said Pena destroyed forever her sense of security and independence.

“This has impacted every single aspect of my life,” she said. “He used his weapon and basically destructed my life with the choice he made that day.”

The soon-to-be inmate offered a half-a$$ed apology after the verdict was handed down.

“I’m deeply sorry for my conduct last August and the pain it caused.”

Pena paused for a moment and then resumed speaking.

“I deserve my punishment,” he said. “I will always carry the shame and burden of my actions. I have no explanation for what happened that day.”

With cops like these, who needs criminals??

Tyler Perry’s Atlanta Studio Catches Fire

Firefighters remained at Tyler Perry Studios in southwest Atlanta early Wednesday, watching for hot spots and trying to determine what caused a spectacular blaze that damaged one of the complex’s buildings Tuesday night.

“The fire’s out, but the cause remains under investigation,” Capt. Jolyon Bundrige with the Atlanta Fire Department told the AJC just before 11 p.m.

About midnight, Bundrige said that several fire units were still on the scene, “conducting a damage assessment, including salvage and overhaul.” At least one fire truck remained at the studios at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to one building in the center of the 30-acre complex owned by Atlanta filmmaker Perry, Bundrige said.

The first report of a fire came in at 8:41 p.m., and before it was over, more than 100 firefighters had responded to a blaze that quickly escalated to four alarms.

The fascia of the affected building collapsed, but its structural integrity was not compromised, Bundrige said. No injuries were reported.

Apparently Tyler did not want anyone to know how on fire he really was…

Perry was at his Continental Colony Parkway complex Tuesday night and spoke with Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran, but did not talk to reporters gathered nearby, Bundrige said. Employees leaving the studio grounds after the fire told reporters they were instructed not to speak to the media.

All joking aside, we’re glad that no one was hurt in this incident. With all the gwap that TP got we’re pretty sure he’ll be back up and running in no time.

Washington Police Looking For Another Way To Capture Murder Suspect Holed Up In Bunker

Authorities are planning their next move today after they pumped tear gas into the hillside bunker of a survivalist who allegedly shot his wife and daughter in the head and set the family home on fire.

Three dozen SWAT officers hiked through rugged terrain and undergrowth near the Rattlesnake Ridge trail in the Cascade foothills of Washington Friday to reach the elaborate bunker where authorities believe Peter Keller, 41, is hiding.

Authorities have not seen Keller since they responded to a fire at his North Bend residence on Sunday.

Inside, responders found the bodies of Keller’s wife, Lynnettee Keller, 41, and daughter Kaylene, 19.

Keller is believed to have spent eight years planning and building his bunker, as well as stockpiling food and supplies, police said.

Bunker? Food and supplies?? Just how serious was this guy about not getting caught? VERY! Even the SWAT team was impressed with Keller’s plan.

SWAT officers told King County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Cindi West that photos of the bunker “don’t do it justice.”

“They said the fort appears to be amazingly fortified,” she told the Associated Press.

After pumping tear gas into the bunker, authorities heard movement inside but did not enter the structure, which they believe could be booby-trapped.

Keller is also believed to be heavily armed and equipped with a gas mask.

“It’s a very extreme and tactical situation. Time is on our side. We’re not going to do anything rash, said King County Sheriff Steve Strachan.

The cops say a little sloppiness on Keller’s part is what led them to find this hillside chateau in the first place.

Sheriff’s deputies were able to pinpoint Keller’s hiding place after they found photos that he had intended to burn in his home of the bunker.

An enhanced picture revealed the North Bend Premium Outlets in the background, which led police to the Rattlesnake Ridge area.

The trail will be closed until further notice.

Sounds like this one is going to end with a little drama. Stay tuned as more details emerge.

Church Shootout In Colorado Leave Pastor’s Mother Dead

The mother of an Aurora church pastor was killed Sunday afternoon after a gunman opened fire at The Destiny Center at 10686 East Bethany Drive around 3 p.m.

According to church representative Yolanda Marant, someone ran inside the church and yelled for the others to “get down” as the gunman, who was following the person, began firing.

Marant confirms that Pastor Delono Straham’s mother, 65-year-old Josephine Eccles, was shot and killed during the incident.

An off-duty Denver Police officer was at the church at the time of the shooting and confronted the suspect outside of the church, Marant told FOX31 Denver.

The gunman may have been involved in an earlier dispute, though police have not confirmed the shooter’s motive.

Aurora Police confirm the off-duty officer did shoot the suspect, who was then transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

The church posted the following statement of its Facebook page:

“Please keep Pastor Delono Straham, the Straham family and The Destiny Center in your prayers. Thank you!“

Colorado Cops Kills His Wife Then Himself After Accusations Of Child Abuse

Almost four years after finding their daughter and son-in-law dead in their own home, Jackie and Paul Cuin spoke to the Denver Post, which obtained medical, social services and police investigations records relevant to their case.

In 2008, Alyssa O’Shell was taken from her parents, Dave and Tiffany, when she was just three months old. Doctors had found 11 broken bones in the infant’s legs, prompting suspicions of abuse. Shocked, Dave and Tiffany were helpless as child protective services gave their only baby to a foster mother.

Insisting they were innocent, Alyssa’s parents countered the allegations, researching the Internet for other explanations. Maybe she had brittle bone disease, they suggested. But doctors said the little girl’s broken bones were “highly suggestive of nonaccidential trauma,” according to a hospital report, and would have come from violently twisting her legs.

In the two weeks that followed, Dave and Tiffany, both police officers in Henderson, Colo., met with lawyers and searched for ways to prove their innocence and bring Alyssa back to their family.

Dave, after admitting he’d once playfully picked Alyssa up by her legs to kiss her stomach, was especially scrutinized, and began to think he would be arrested for felony child abuse. As each day passed, he grew more despondent. Tiffany had begun to wonder if divorcing her husband was the only way to keep her baby.

Unfortunately, the pressure to defend their good names and get their child back became too much for Dave.

On June 30, 2008, Tiffany and Dave were each to meet with their respective lawyers and a criminal investigator. The last appointment was at 1 p.m. Jackie grew worried when she never heard from her daughter, who had agreed to call throughout the day with updates. At 3 p.m., she called Jackie. No answer.

At 5 p.m., she drove to the couple’s home, where she saw both cars in the garage and the dog on the porch. Scared to go inside the house, she instead drove home and returned with her husband, Paul, who agreed to go inside.

“I had already dialed 911 when I heard him scream,” Tiffany recalled to the Denver Post.

Inside, Paul found both Tiffany and Dave dead in their bedroom. They hadn’t been at the appointments.

The night before, Dave reportedly shot his wife while she slept, then took his own life, sticking two handguns in his mouth and pulling both triggers.

Alyssa’s parents were dead, but meanwhile, doctors were running more tests on the little girl. Her foster mother had expressed concerns about her lack of development, just like Tiffany and Dave had once done.

A doctor noted that Alyssa “makes sounds, smiles and laughs,” but “does not grasp objects well,” and had trouble moving her limbs and controlling her head. She also tended to keep her thumbs in her palms.

All the signs pointed to a genetic illness.

On July 9, Alyssa was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy, which weakens limbs and is associated with broken bones. The Cuins reached out to a specialist at a national spinal muscular atrophy association to confirm that Alyssa’s broken bones could be attributed to the disease.

Taking the baby, the murder, and the subsequent suicide were all for nothing. SMH

Can being an atheist in America get you killed? If police in a small town in Texas are to be believed, the answer to that question is yes. SMH.

Officials in Clay County, Texas revealed this week that human remains uncovered near the Oklahoma border last month were those of Spc. Jose Ramirez, an El Centro, California native who went missing from Fort Sill, Oklahoma more than seven years ago. A former friend of Ramirez’s, 30-year-old Justin Green, was charged with the murder in February:

Three others, including Green’s mother and sister, also face charges related to helping clean up the crime scene and hide the body, and the story was carried earlier this week by The Associated Press.

But one shocking detail in that story seemed to be overlooked in the AP’s lead: A criminal complaint against the group, obtained by Raw Story on Thursday, shows that Green’s sister believes he killed Ramirez “because Ramirez did not believe in God.”

It’s still not clear exactly when Ramirez was killed, but Texas Ranger Marshall W. Thomas claimed in his report that officers detected blood at a rural home in Petrolia, Texas after two individuals with knowledge of the crime came forward. They discovered the soldier’s body buried face down in a shallow grave, with both of his legs sticking out of the ground, covered by a tire and random trash.

The criminal complaint adds that Green had described Ramirez as a “hateful” person who did not believe in the Christian deity figure.

The police report claims that Green, his sister Brittany and her friend Stephanie Heaston-Corral allegedly worked together to hide the body and clean up the residency at the prompting of Green’s mother, Terri.

After burying the body, police claim the group all went to Brittany’s apartment and ordered a pizza and bread sticks with Ramirez’s credit card, and Brittany allegedly signed it using Ramirez’s last name.

Green, who once lived in the home where the bullet holes were found, remains in jail on $1 million bond and will appear in court Monday. His attorney did not return a phone message.

We always thought that one amazing thing about being a U.S. citizen is the right to practice under whatever belief system you choose and not be condemned or persecuted for it. What an incredibly sad story.

Crazy stuff out of Pittsburgh:

Two people are dead, including a gunman who opened fire in the lobby of the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, says a University of Pittsburgh Medical Center spokesman who was briefed by police, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting. At least five other people were wounded in the shooting just before 2 p.m. ET.

Reports of a second gunman and hostages were incorrect, police said.

Update at 4:29 p.m. ET: Still no word on the identities of the dead and wounded, or of the conditions of those hospitalized.

Evacuation of patients and staff was continuing within the past half hour, according to the Post-Gazette.

The paper writes, “Children, many shoeless, were carried by staff members and loaded into the back an armored SWAT vehicle.”
