Everybody knows Miguel can sing, but who knew he was so into art?

His new video “Adorn” mixes his love of heartfelt love songs with his love of art. Much like the “Girls Like You” video, which he co-directed, Miguel uses striking reds, yellows and blues to grab your eye and keep you looking. He also uses a few body parts ( above the neck…because he’s classy) to immerse himself into a painting that illustrate the lyrics.

If there is one thing with which all of Hollywood could agree is that Beyonce is anything but original. After being heralded as the next Tina Turner by Kanye West and the second coming of Michael Jackson by her husband Jay-Z, the singer has been cast in the molds of two other great artists – Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan.

Speaking to Les Inrocks about his upcoming projects, Clint Eastwood revealed a fascination with Beyonce, with whom he will be working in the upcoming remake of ‘A Star is Born’. The noted director claimed that she offered to “write” material for the movie’s soundtrack but he intends to introduce her to the fundamentals of Jazz music so that she could realize her potential to become the next Fitzgerald or Vaughan.

“She asked if she could write stuff for the movie, I said yes, great. But I also told her I would make one or two things very classical. Still classicism. But I don’t want Beyonce to be too classic! She has a superb voice. She could become a new Sarah Vaughan or the next Ella Fitzgerald. She has the same class. I dont know if she knows their music, but I intend to do a good education for the movie!”

Wow, we’re not sure about this one Clint. There is no doubt that Beyonce is immensely talented, but Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn??

Today would have marked the 39th birthday for one of the most controversial but influential men in hip-hop and society as a whole.

Tupac Shakur was born June 16th, 1971 and was brutally shot on the Vegas strip on September 7th, 1996, after leaving a heavyweight fight between Mike Tyson and Bruce Sheldon. He died from complications of his bullet wounds on September 13th, 1996.

Tupac Shakur even in his death has maintained a tight grip on the music industry as he did when he was alive. He has inspired many rappers of today who tried hard to emulate the bravado, thug-life and charm that he held. Many tried but they’ve all failed. Throughout all of Pac’s so-called faults, he was a visionary that knew the world was ‘effed’ up completely. He delivered the news to you straight with no chaser whether you liked it or not. His stance on social issues, as well has having the street cred to rep’ for the lowest of the low made Tupac loved by many.

Many wonder how the game would be if Pac were still alive? Would half of these wack-a$$ rapper’s be here (you know who you are)? Would Pac have made the transition into being a full-time activist or politician? All one can do is wonder what 2010, would have brought for an almost 40 year-old Tupac. One thing for sure is he left countless amounts of music for the world to enjoy. He has sold over 75 million records worldwide. Even in death Tupac continues to reach people.

Tupac’s murder still remains unsolved to this date.
