Question of the Day

Mike Vick, the 4.2 in the 40 yard dash QB, is coming back to the NFL…hopefully:

Imprisoned NFL quarterback Michael Vick expects to return to pro football, according to his bankruptcy attorneys who laid out a plan to pay creditors based in part on his anticipated earnings.”The Debtor has every reason to believe that upon his release, he will be reinstated into the NFL, resume his career and be able to earn a substantial living,” Vick’s attorneys wrote in a disclosure statement filed before a hearing Thursday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Norfolk. The former Atlanta Falcons star is serving a 23-month sentence in a federal penitentiary for bankrolling a dogfighting ring in rural Virginia and is scheduled to be released on July 20. Once the NFL’s highest-paid player, Vick has assets of $16 million and liabilities of $20.4 million, according to the court filing in which attorneys wrote in extraordinary detail about Vick’s dizzying financial mess — listing a fleet of vehicles, properties, businesses and the extended family he supported. A Vick attorney said a committee representing all his debtors has proposed a plan to pay off his debt.  “The committee attorney acknowledged that there’s been a lot of progress, so we’re hopeful,” Peter R. Ginsberg told The Associated Press. Vick still faces two state felony counts — dogfighting and animal cruelty. They carry maximum prison terms of 10 years, but under a plea deal, Vick would serve a suspended sentence and a year of probation. He is scheduled to appear in Surry County Circuit Court on Nov. 25. While Vick still has a contract with the Falcons, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell would have the final say on his return, which he is counting on after he is released. “That’s the hope,” Campsen said in an interview.  Ginsberg said if the sides can’t agree in December, another hearing will be held in January. Vick was ordered to attend.

Vick has most certainly paid the ultimate price for what he did: he’s lost more than he even had to give, which is a lot more than others who have made mistakes.

Is it time to allow Michael Vick the opportunity to collect the scattered pieces of his existence and start making a new life for himself?

Mos Def-Initely Wanted by Vegas One-Time

Posted by Bossip Staff

According to Livesteez, Mos took the Kanye route to boost sales for his up and coming album, by allegedly pushing a wimpy pap person down:

Brooklyn rapper/actor Mos Def woke up this morning anticipating going to jail after the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has issued a warrant for his arrest on yesterday evening (November 5). Mos, born Dante Smith, was allegedly involved in an altercation with a professional photographer at the most recent Men’s Apparel and Garment Industry (MAGIC) showing in August. While attending an event during the fashion trade convention, photographer Volker Corell claims the Be Kind Rewind star assaulted him, allegedly ripping away his camera, and throwing the equipment to the ground before walking away with it, as reported by AllHipHop.com. Corell, who was an official photographer for the MAGIC convention says he suffered a cut on his left hand as a result of the confrontation. Mos, who made an appearance at Vegas nightclub Prive on October 20, now faces charges of felony robbery and malicious destruction of property.

We all know that most pap’s are chocha’s. If one gets a small cut on his pinky, he’ll likely do the most un-manly, booty hole thing he could and file charges. Let this be a lesson to all the paps who stick their cameras up celebrities’ noses. Why do you think you have a zoom lens on that $1000 camera?

Recession…What Recession?

Even though we are in a recession, Rocawear, made out like a fat rat this quarter:

In the midst of an economic turmoil, fashion lovers are still making their way into the stores to purchase some fly gear. Hip-Hop apparel brand Rocawear has earned over $18.3 million dollars for the third quarter of 2008. The clothing line helped its parent company Iconix Brand Group post a better-than-expected quarterly profit, despite a sluggish economy and a tough U.S. retailing market. Iconix bought Rocawear from Jay-Z in 2007 for $204 million dollars. According to Iconix CEO Neil Cole, Jay-Z’s direct involvement with Rocawear helped boost the company’s earnings, as did growing sales from the company’s London Fog brand of clothing. Cole says, the two brands were the “two biggest standouts in the quarter.”

Camel has been hustling for a while and getting rid of Dame was probably the best move he has made in the last 10 yrs. Him and Bey have a hustle going that can not be knocked.

Lil Wayne Handled His Newborn’s Delivery

Posted by Bossip Staff

Lil Wayne reached into the womb for his baby boy with one hand and presumably held on to his styrofoam stacks with the other:

Last week, Lil’ Wayne became a father for the second time to baby boy Dwayne Michael Carter III. In a recent interview, the 26-year-old shares that he was right there in the delivery room at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, watching the memorable moment take place. “I delivered him. I held the left leg the whole time,” Wayne said Tuesday night at Power 105.1′s Powerhouse concert. “It was nasty, very nasty, but it was wonderful. Oct. 22, 9:25 a.m., 7 lbs., 12 oz. He’s the best thing to ever happen to me, next to my daughter.”

Congratulations on the new baby Wayne, but be more careful in the future. This new baby moms might just be looking for a quick come up. We predict she’ll be spreading it in King or Smooth in no time.

In case you missed it, here’s Mrs. Common-Law Carter. How very respectable.

Yeezy’s Panties in a Bunch… Again

Yeezy is a little ticked off at the leakage of the Robocop song but it seems like his people leaked the single. Who else could have? Here’s a snippet of the temper tantrum found on Kanye’s blog:

“I DID NOT LEAK ROBOCOP!!!… THAT’S NOT EVEN THE FINISHED VERSION… I’M PRETTY UPSET ABOUT IT BUT THAT’S THE WAY LIFE IS SOMETIMES!”

TI and Ambassador Andrew Young Against Violence

Posted by Bossip Staff

According to Livesteez, T.I. and Ambassador Andrew Young have teamed up to stop violence:

Rapper T.I. and United Nations ambassador Andrew Young, are joining forces in a new TV documentary taking aim at gun violence in the U.S. The film focuses on T.I., born Clifford Harris Jr., making amends for his federal firearms offenses. Young, an advocate for peace around the world, premiered the hour-long film, “Walking With Guns,” on Sunday in Atlanta. It includes extensive footage of the Grammy-winning artist visiting a rehabilitation hospital in New York to meet patients paralyzed by gang violence. The film also shows T.I. and Young telling young people how to avoid violence, and follows a former gang member who is now a social activist, according to the Associated Press. The film, part of a series called “Andrew Young Presents,” is expected to begin airing Nov. 2 on TV stations around the country. “Violence would still be around without guns,” T.I. said to over 400 attendees during a question-and-answer session after the screening. “But there would be an increased value of life.”

Good work, Clifford. He is working hard to clean up his image before his stint.

Close Your Eyes and Make a Wish

T-Pain must have been wishing for big things:

Apple and Hyundai recently teamed up to create a car called The Digital Genesis, with T-Pain in mind. According to Billboard.com, the new car will be unveiled at events across the country, and will feature music from Pain’s upcoming album, Thr33 Ringz. Early reports include that the vehicle will come equipped with three computers (two Mac minis and a Macbook Air) as well as an iPod Touch, iPhone and two wireless keyboards that slide out of the rear of the front seats. The starting price for the Genesis is around $30,000. Apple and Hyundai are expected to formally announce the launch of the new Genesis at an event later this fall, in which people who attend the event will receive Apple download cards — to download tracks from T-Pain and artists on his Nappy Boy digital label.

Unbelievable. Out of all the artists in Hip-Hop, T-Pain is the person they picked as a poster-boy for a major initiative like this? Maybe he isn’t the dancing clown he makes himself out to be, after all.
