Hard to be a “supermodel” when you can’t walk straight…

Naomi Campbell does not approve of the title supermodel.

“I would never call myself that,” Campbell tells the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar. “I don’t have any superhuman powers.”
The 41-year-old stunner also expressed pleasant surprise that designers still want to work with her after so many years in the business.

“It’s always surprising to get asked to do a job I did 20 years ago,” she says when asked about her recent Roberto Cavalli campaign. “I’m very blessed, and I know that.”

Throughout the interview, Campbell reveals a much more warm and humble persona than is typically associated with her. Several friends attribute the change to the model’s sobriety. But while Campbell won’t comment on that development, she does explain of her past behavior, including assault charges, “Look, you have to make mistakes. That’s how you learn and that’s how the world works. I’ve made a few.”

So what does Campbell want to be called if not a supermodel?

“I like words like ‘transformation,’ ‘reinvention,’ and ‘chameleon,’” she says. “Because one word I don’t like is ‘predictable.’”

Oh Naomi, we’re quite sure that “supermodel” is not the worst thing someone has called you.

Drake has his eye on eventually playing Barack Obama in a film about the President’s life. “I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could play him,” the rapper and actor told VH1 News at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this week. “That’s the goal. I watch all the addresses. Any time I see him on TV, I don’t change the channel. I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows me, I’m pretty good at impressions.”

Drake, who broke into show business as an actor on the long-running Canadian teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation, said that he is mostly being offered roles as basketball players and rappers these days but aims to do something bigger. “I’ve been reading scripts for awhile,” he said. “I want to do something great. I want to do something for my culture: the younger people who are still in tune with everything going on. I’m actually writing with my friends right now.”

Drake IS biracial, similar height, similar build, if he could pull off the voice and mannerisms he might have a real shot to be the first Canadian “President”.

Yesterday was a helluva day for football. While it appeared that all 4 teams (The Patriots, The Giants, The 49ers, and the Ravens) were equally worthy of a chance to raise the Lombardi trophy, there can only be two…

On what he considered a bad day in terms of his performance, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady got his wish.

Super Bowl XLVI will give Brady a chance to rectify his only Super Bowl loss, the 2008 edition in which Eli Manning bested Brady with a game-winning fourth-quarter touchdown drive that featured numerous big or clutch plays. It was in that game the New York Giants took the fear factor away from the three-time Super Bowl champs.

The Giants tipped off to the rest of the world that the Patriots can be beaten. The Giants slowed New England’s offensive weapons with man-to-man coverage. They got pressure around the feet of Brady to make him uncomfortable in the pocket. The Giants were able to crack holes in the Patriots’ defense.

What followed was a three-year run in which the Patriots failed to win a playoff game. Though the Pats breezed through a 2011 schedule in which they didn’t beat a team with a winning record until the AFC Championship Game, they will go to Indianapolis knowing how difficult it is to win playoff games and Super Bowls, something they were starting to take for granted.

“It’s hard to win these games,” Brady said. “It’s hard to win games in the NFL because every team is very talented. We did enough here the last 10 weeks to win these games. I’m sure this next game is going to come down to the end and hopefully we have enough plays.”

What’s great about this Super Bowl is both teams might be considered the hottest going to Indianapolis. Despite a 9-7 season, the Giants got healthier during the playoffs and played their most complete football. The Pats enter with a 10-game winning streak and the chance to be favorites in the Super Bowl — again.

But as the Giants proved four years ago, being the favorites doesn’t mean much when the game starts. It’s how you finish that counts.

This should be a GREAT game, and the fact that it’s a rematch from Superbowl XLII makes it that much more interesting.

Over the past few months we have THOROUGHLY enjoyed tuning in to “T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle” on VH1 (Mondays @ 10pm). As entertaining and endearing as the show is, there has been an ongoing undercurrent of ugliness (no pun intended) when discussing Tiny’s…”aesthetic appeal” in comparison to Tip’s. There were always jokes and snide comments, but after an episode two weeks ago when “The Kang’s” other baby mama, Ranniqua, made an appearance the chit-chatter got louder and meaner.

As mentioned in a previous post, most people found Ranniqua VERY attractive and began to wonder aloud, “Why the hell didn’t T.I. stay with her instead of Tiny??”. It seems everyday that another celebrity couple is getting divorced, and with so much talk about the absence of the Black family unit and Black love, shouldn’t people be happy that Harris’ appear to have a loving supportive relationship rather than playing the “Marvin’s Room” card saying that they think Tip “could do better”???

What say you? Are people unfairly judging T.I. and Tiny’s relationship??

A professional break-up specialist???

There’s no nice way to say “it’s over” but Jonathan Kiekbusch finds breaking up with a girlfriend rather easy… as long as it’s someone else’s. In fact, the 21-year-old is so good at delivering the bad news to an unsuspecting “other half” that he’s turned PROFESSIONAL.

For just a fiver plus expenses, he’ll be your relationship hitman — delivering the bad news and sending an unwanted partner to Dumpsville.

Unsurprisingly he’s not always well received. Abuse and tears are common when he delivers the blow.

But Jonathan, who also works in marketing, believes he has created a much needed relationship service.

He considers himself not just the go-to guy when you want to dump your partner but also a mediator who sets people free when love goes wrong.

Jonathan goes on to speak about how he got into his current line of “work”:

It all started when I went to stay with a friend a few years ago. Stuart, who is 24 and works as a labourer, was going out with a sales clerk about the same age. They were always arguing.

They would irritate one another and there seemed to be little love left.

I went to a party with them and all they did was stand in a corner of the room bickering. After a while I went over and told them they really needed to sort out their relationship.

“We’re always like this,” they told me simply. So I got talking to them about why they were together and asked if they were really happy.

Perhaps they would be happier apart, I suggested after a long heart-to-heart. They agreed with me and broke up there and then. It was mutual and relatively painless for everyone.

This is one helluva hustle, we’re not sure that we’d ever use it, but in these tough economic times you gotta get money however you can.

But we ask you this, would you ever send someone to break up with your boyfriend/girlfriend?

Today at 8pm EST The Denver Broncos will play the New England Patriots to determine which team will advance to the AFC Championship game and a chance to attend “The Big Dance” The Superbowl.

Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow has been a lightning rod of controversy over the past 2 months not only because of his unconventional playing style, but also his stout religious beliefs.

Tebow the athlete is fun to watch with his passion and flashes of brilliance. Tebow the acolyte – the devoted follower of God – is easy to admire, and even those annoyed by public piety can be won over by his goodheartedness and the sheer joy with which he plays the game.

Perhaps most acutely, he’s a cultural avatar. The internet meme “Tebowing” took off because it’s a readymade symbolic gesture people can use to express themselves against our scoffing, serious times.

Brady is a great football player. Tebow is a great football story, and stories are immersive – they give us a chance to get involved, to see ourselves through them.

Tebow’s story tees up the questions that frame many people’s lives: Is God involved? Can he help us overcome? Can he help us win? What if he stops helping us – where is God when our critics are correct, when our flaws are exposed for everyone to see?

Saturday’s game will likely be the most-watched second round playoff game in NFL history. Millions will be watching because they want to see how the story will unfold, and the hero most of them will be rooting for is not the playboy, but the momma’s boy.

Tebow’s faith has been the fodder for late night talk show monologues, comedy skits, and hilarious sports banter, but there is one joke that probably best represents how a LOT people actually feel about Tim Tebow.

A few weeks ago, a joke made its way around Denver about Tom Brady, the New England Patriots’ living legend, and Tim Tebow, the raw Broncos quarterback who is turning in a legendary season. It went something like this:

Tom Brady dies and goes to heaven and is greeted by God, who shows him to his new house – a cozy, modest home with a Patriots flag flying from the porch. “Gee, thanks God!” says Brady, feeling very special.

As Brady walks to his door, he notices another house down the street – a sprawling, gorgeous home with a 50-foot pole flying a Broncos flag, a swimming pool shaped like a horse, and a Tim Tebow jersey pinned to the front door.

“Um, God?” Brady begins. “I’m not ungrateful, but I don’t get it. I won three Super Bowls and went to the Hall of Fame. Why does Tim Tebow get a better house than me?”

God chuckles. “That’s not Tim’s house,” he replies. “That’s mine.”

So we ask you, do think that God is rooting for Tim Tebow and the Broncos???
