Obamas Officially Move to DC This Weekend

Obama's @ Honolulu Zoo

Starting this weekend, The Obamas will be calling DC their home:

The Obama family will move to Washington D.C. this weekend, according to the Barack Obama’s transition team.

“The president-elect will be here in Washington to continue work on an economic recovery plan,” the team announced.

He, his wife, Michelle, and their two daughters Malia and Sasha will stay at a Washington hotel through Jan. 15. From there, they will move into the Blair House, which is the president’s guest house and stands across the street from the White House. Inauguration events begin Jan. 20.

The transition team added: “[Obama] will also be here for the beginning of school.”

We know we speak on behalf of the entire DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia), when we say, “Welcome to Chocolate City, Obama and family.” We can all sleep soundly knowing that if the government ever slips, the community damn sure has the artillery to protect him.

This Doesn’t Sound Like a Good Idea

The pretty girls of the first family, Sasha and Malia have been invited to appear on Hannah Montana:

Disney’s hit show Hannah Montana just went from a little bit country to potentially presidential! On Monday, Billy Ray Cyrus told Access Hollywood that President-Elect Barack Obama’s two young daughters have been asked to appear on the Disney Channel’s hit show. Cyrus, whose own daughter Miley Cyrus is the star, said producers have asked Malia, 10, and Sasha Obama, 7, to take part in an episode possibly around April.

“They probably will. The invitation is there,” Cyrus said, adding, “You know the Hannah Montana film comes out in April. Maybe something might happen around then.” When pressed for details, Cyrus said, “I can’t, I can’t. I have got to keep a secret.” In interviews, the President-Elect has said Malia is a big fan of Hannah Montana.

The Obamas, however, have made a priority of shielding both girls from the media, so it will be interesting to see if the deal actually happens. On Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus plays a school girl with a secret life as a pop star. As for what she thinks of the opportunity, Miley, who turns 16 later this month, said, “I think that would be really cool and if anything, have them visit the set.”

In our mention of the Cheetah Girls skank, we forgot to tack on baby ho. We surely hope the Obamas are aware of all of the hos-in-the-making they have running around at the Disney lot before letting them have contact with the girls.

::: Update::: The Obama camp is unaware of an invitation to appear on the show:

President-elect Barack Obama’s two young daughters haven’t been asked to appear on Disney’s Hannah Montana, a source within the Obama camp tells Usmagazine.com.

Billy Ray Cyrus — the father of Hannah Montana singer Miley Cyrus — told Access Hollywood on Monday that Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, “probably will” appear on an episode in April. “The invitation is there,” he said. But the Obama source tells Us, “Folks within Obama-land know of no such request.” Still, Miley wouldn’t mind having them around. “I think that would be really cool and, if anything, have them visit the set,” she said. After all, Miley noted, “They are kind of like me before I started my own career.”

Uh, no, no they’re not. Not at all.
