Big Sean Speaks Out Against Bullying In Toronto
Earlier today, Big Sean joined national media figures Katie Couric, Joe Jonas, Selena Gomez, and Orlando Bloom for We Day, an inspirational and educational youth empowerment event in Toronto, Ontario.
On behalf of his own non-profit, the Sean Anderson Foundation, the Detroit native spoke to the 40,000 students who obtained tickets to the event in exchange for community service, Sean shared his personal concerns about bullying and the effects of bullying:
“Whether it’s talking down on your peers or classmates, your own family members, gossiping on the Internet, or teasing people, there are so many ways that you can become a bully without even realizing it. We all need to be aware of the effects of our actions.”
“You never know how much your words, or your actions can help or push someone over the edge.
“Growing up in Detroit I’ve seen many people around me suffer from depression, because of issues they were faced with, and for one person I knew who was close to our family, it even lead to suicide. These issues are too real.”
“I want you all to remember, we are all more alike than different. We all have dreams and goals, and we’re all on the pursuit of happiness.”
