How much do these guys even get paid???
Widow Washers Rescued From 1 World Trade Center
Two window washers, who became trapped on scaffolding near the 68th floor of One World Trade Center, have been rescued.
The incident began at around 12:45 p.m. on the south side of the building. Initial reports suggested the washers were done cleaning the windows and were about to ascend to to the top of the tower when the cable that pulls the scaffold up became loose.
Images from the scene showed the scaffolding dangling at a precarious angle as emergency responders from the Police and Fire Departments along with the Port Authority tried rescue the workers and secure the dangling scaffold platform.
A rescue basket with a NYPD and a Port Authority officer was deployed in an effort to get to the trapped workers, but the FDNY managed to break a window and pull the workers to safety around 2:15 p.m.
The FDNY was in communication with the workers throughout the rescue operation, CBS2 reported. The workers were said to be in good condition.
Glad they made it down safely and back to their loved ones.
Not for nothin’, can you imagine the rap on this place if these guys would have fallen to their death?
