“106 & Park” Cancelled
On December 19 “106 & Park” will officially air its final show. After a 14 year run, the show is switching to an online only program.
The New York Daily News reports:
The long-running BET music video show “106 and Park” is going digital-only, according to a tweet from the channel.
“After 14 yrs as America’s #1 music show on BET, #106andPark is blazing a new trail as a digital brand and will exit as a daily TV show,” the tweet read.
The show, which has been the top music variety show on cable among viewers ages 18 to 49, was created in 2000, when the studio was still located in Harlem.
Once Viacom took over the channel, it was moved to CBS’ headquarters and has been a mainstay of popular television weekdays at 5 p.m.
