Condaleezza Rice Gets Nailed by 4th Grader

Condi Rice was speaking at an elementary school when one student got all CNN on her @ss. Pop the hood for more

Rice, in her first appearance in Washington since leaving government, was at the Jewish Primary Day School of the Nation’s Capital before giving an evening lecture at the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue. She held forth amiably before a few dozen students about her love of Israel, travel abroad and the importance of learning languages, then opened the floor to their questions.

The questions had been developed beforehand by students with their teachers and had not been screened by Rice. At first, they were innocuous: What was it like growing up in segregated Birmingham, Ala.? What skill did she want to be best known for?

Then Misha Lerner, a student from Bethesda, asked: What did Rice think about the things President Obama’s administration was saying about the methods the Bush administration had used to get information from detainees?

Rice took the question in stride. saying that she was reluctant to criticize Obama, then getting to the heart of the matter.

“Let me just say that President Bush was very clear that he wanted to do everything he could to protect the country. After September 11, we wanted to protect the country,” she said. “But he was also very clear that we would do nothing, nothing, that was against the law or against our obligations internationally. So the president was only willing to authorize policies that were legal in order to protect the country.”

The Republican party is f*cked. You’ve gone too far when 4th graders are questioning your ethics.

Condi held the highest position in this country ever held by a black woman. I still appreciate her for her place in history. And its quite convenient to develop opinions for or against torture when you sitting comfy knowing you aint bout to get blasted on right now.

  • The Official Mrs. Carter

I’ll make sure our kids make us just as proud…lmoa!!

Condi really let herself down. I’m a black Republican and I can’t align myself with Condi Rice.

Her forehead is huge, too. She’s a bona fide puppet. Her backs are suspect. Sure she plays the piano but like a robot -and during all the wrong times.

You can’t tell me Condi Rice isn’t some white man’s manufactured black girl experiment gone drastically awry.

Smart kid! I hope she was acknowledged by her teachers and parents for being forthright and asking a question that many adults would shy way from. It’s a perfectly legitimate question given her prior position of authority during the administration in question.

The only contribution that Condi made was to dance with the devil (Bush) and become one of his many minions. Sad that her legacy will be one of a sellout who helped drive this nation into economic and ethical freefall. I’m with Glok9 – this kid deserves an all-expense paid trip to Disney World. Too bad a 4th grader has the rocks to bust her out, but the media is still walking on eggshells around the whole (former) administration.

  • Vermeer

lol! awesome! if only more kids could be that smart! doesn’t even matter if the teachers helped the kids with the questions.. it was a complex question to ask, a lot of words even!

Horseshit. That was a planted question.Dr. Rice has NOTHING to be ashamed of.As it relates to the war-neither does the Bush administration.Proof of that is that the Obama administration is happy to continue most of the policies…untouched. That being said-I agree the Republicans have an image/credibility problem.Just not about the war.

  • don't really matter.

Folks, there is no such thing as political lines. They are all the same. They want us fight and argue about the democrat or republican, to take focus on the true facts. Believe no one in politics. The power is in the people. We have been duped to believe the government has our best interest at heart. Rep and Dems same thing, just different faces. Trust God and not man. But you can continue to believe and call me dumb, and a conspriracy junkie. I take it like this, it is better to be informed and be wrong, then to be uninformed and be wrong.

    @ Dr. Funk

I do believe you are talking out of your a$$. The Obama administration has changed many of the Bush policies. In case you don’t get any newspapers, he’s closing Guantanamo, he has released the so called ‘torture’ memos, and he has acknowledged what everyone already knew (even if Republicans wouldn’t admit it) that waterboarding IS torture. The only thing he hasn’t done is appoint a special prosecutor to put Bush Cheney and Rice on trial for violating the Geneva conventions and the treaty against torture. Rice is a war criminal. If we weren’t the most powerful country on earth, she and her two evil sidekicks would be on trial at the ICC.

    @ dont really matter

unfortunately a lot of what you say is true. But the only thing that we can do is stay engaged and try to hold the powers that be accountable. I’m frustrated with you, but this government does act in our names, so don’t give up on trying to change it.

and to this little kid ‘ do the dam thing! ‘

    @ don’t really matter

I just re-read my post and it sounds like i’m saying i’m frustrated with you, what i meant is that i am also frustrated.

She gave an honest answer, the president had to do everything and anything under the law to protect democracy.

  • JUJU

Good question, however as stated the questions were pre-screened, therefore some one else wanted to ask the questions but could not do it so they left it in the hands of the 4th grader.smh

  • yeah

yeah, thats why he did everything he could to bring in new laws… so he could do stuff that was previously illegal, but was now made legal to do due to scaring the public into agreeing that it is a good idea.
