Stacey Dash Says Cousin Dame Dash No Longer Speaks To Her Due To Her GOP Activism

Actress Stacey Dash was once regarded as an ageless Hollyweird beauty, but her choice to begin publicly supporting GOP policies & tactics that very obviously work against African-Americans has gotten her the label of a top-tier sellout for many in the black community.

She recently took her clueless rhetoric to Edit magazine for a brief chat and had much to say about growing up in the Bronx, no longer speaking to her family and the negative backlash she’s received since becoming a ride-or-die Republican.

On how her upbringing taught her to have thick skin:

I had to be tough to survive. I come from nothing, so other people’s opinions don’t scare me.

On how she handles getting bashed on Twitter for her newfound beliefs:

When I get hateful tweets, I just re-tweet them. And then my fans pile in and attack the haters while I sit back.

On Dame Dash & her family no longer speaking to her:

My family and I have not spoken. My cousin Damon and my brother [Darien, CEO of DME were role models to me because they were great capitalists. Now we’re not really talking because they were the ones who told me to keep my mouth shut.

They felt that I should do certain things because I’m black.  Certain friends don’t speak to me any more either.

On the positive feedback she’s gotten since becoming a public GOP supporter:

I get [approached by] people of EVERY color saying: ‘Thank you so much for STANDING up and being so BRAVE’”

I thought it was time to have a black president and that it would unite us in such a profound way. But as a country, I don’t think we’ve been so divided since the Civil Rights Movement. I mean, isn’t it extraordinary that we are even discussing race in 2014?

Stacey also went on to boast about how those who criticize her couldn’t “last a minute in her shoes,” and later spoke on why no one else could have played her role in Clueless.

We couldn’t agree more; no one could ever be more clueless than Stacey Dash.
