Obama Recognized As A Brewmaster For His White House Ale

Via NYDailyNews

Microbrewers of America are saying “Ale to the Chief.”

President Obama is getting a lifetime membership to the American Homebrewers Association, to recognize him as the first President to turn the White House into a microbrewery by crafting the White House honey ale and honey porter.

In search of a new hobby in 2011, Obama purchased a home brewing kit and enlisted his personal chef, Sam Kass, to create workable recipes they could try.

Kass collaborated with local home brewers and came up with two formulas that used honey taken from the bee-hive on the South Lawn.

“We were surprised that the beer turned out so well since none of us had brewed beer before,” Kass said in 2012 about their inaugural brewing experience.

Kass is actually departing the White House this December after six years cooking for the first family and heading up Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move anti-obesity initiative.

In announcing his departure, Obama praised Kass for his innovative approach to cuisine.

“From constructing our Kitchen Garden to brewing our own Honey Brown Ale, Sam has left an indelible mark on the White House,” Obama said in early December.

Republicans will probably try to spin this into the POTUS being a drunk. SMH.
