Event Promoter Attacks August Alsina Backstage At Benefit Concert
R&B crooner August Alsina has hit the ground running in 2015, selling out shows overseas and continuing to rock crowds across the U.S., but it seems promoters have a thing for testing his undeniably quick temper and intolerance for disrespect.
August performed for a benefit concert in St. Louis over the weekend that also featured the likes of Fabolous, 2 Chainz and Migos with proceeds from the 6,000+ tickets sold going towards the “Put Down The Pistol” program. However, despite the intended “peaceful” nature of the event, it seemed the show’s promoter Loose Cannon Slim couldn’t quite keep his cool during a heated argument between he and August backstage….and things went completely left from there. Take a look at the footage, obtained by TMZ, above.
The promoter later headed to Instagram with more details on his version of what went down in response to reports of his face being mangled during the brawl. Check that out on the flip.
The promoter in question took to his Instagram page with this to say following the incident:
While the footage of the altercation speaks for itself in terms of Augusts’ involvement with this incident, he has also spoken out in the past about promoters constantly attempting to take advantage of his young age and “new artist” title with shady business dealings. So who do you think was to blame this time, Bossip fam? Was it unprofessional of the promoter to take the first swing? Or is it on August for not walking away?
