DC Middle School Protest Teacher Firings Over Black History Month

Parents and students are angry over what they’re calling a sudden surge in teachers resigning or being fired from Howard University Middle School of Mathematics and Science (MS)²—allegedly for teaching black history.

Via WJLA reports:

Students at Howard University Middle School of Mathematics and Science in D.C. walked out of classes in protest Monday of the recent firings of instructors for allegedly teaching African-American history.

As ABC 7 News reported last week, parents of the charter school’s students have accused Principal Angelicque Blackmon of giving out pink slips to three teachers.

The three terminated were social studies teachers who were said to have implemented African-American history into their class curriculum.

Parents noted that the school bears the name of an historically black university–and the school’s student body is 90-percent African American.

The principal and the school have yet to respond to the allegations.

Do you think the principal and her administration should be fired???
