The Grammy’s Chose Beyoncé Over Ledisi To Sing “Precious Lord, Take My Hand”
As BOSSIP previously reported, Beyoncé is set to join Common and John Legend’s “Glory” set during the Grammy Awards tomorrow and she’ll be performing “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” which is sung by Ledisi onscreen in the film and on the movie’s soundtrack. As you can probably imagine a number of Ledisi fans aren’t feeling this decision.
Of course a number of things factor into the decision — Beyoncé’s commercial success likely was weighed against Ledisi’s less recognizable name and we can’t overlook the Grammy’s colossal ignorance in nearly all matters urban. After all, industry politics have been and continue to be what they are.
Still, should Beyoncé have refused the honor? Ledisi has yet to weigh in officially on the controversy, choosing instead to celebrate the fact that she is Grammy nominated.
