Rapper Tells Bossip He’s Happy To Be Back In Harlem During Surprise Stop at Harlem Haberdashery Masquerade Ball

Ma$e made a triumphant return to his old Harlem stomping grounds over the weekend.

P. Diddy’s one-time sidekick arrived at Harlem Haberdashery’s Masquerade Ball with his self-described manager, Suga J, shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday night, to mix and mingle with Harlem’s elite.

“I came to support my town, Harlem,” Ma$e told Bossip. “It’s been really nice. The welcoming has been overwhelming.”

The now-divorced rapper turned reverend looked like a million dollars in an orange floral pattered blazer, accessorized with a diamond-encrusted gold Jesus piece and a huge diamond ring on his wedding finger. The lights at the ball must’ve been too bright for the former Bad Boy artist, as he kept his gold-rimmed sunglasses on the entire time.

Ma$e spent a few minutes flicking it up on the gala’s dance floor, while the DJ spun Ma$e tunes. He then ensconced himself in the VIP area for more photos, well wishes from attendees and seemingly deep convo’s with a number of very attractive female guests.

Harlem Haberdashery, an upscale clothing boutique, carries Suga J’s clothing line, Members Club Clothing, and Ma$e came as Suga J’s guest, event organizers told Bossip. The event raised money for Harlem Hospital.

Ma$e and Suga J later headed out to the club, where they “took over” the Liberty Theater in Times Square.

Ma$e, real name Mason Betha, had a tough 2014. He divorced his wife of 13 years, Twyla, and he deleted his Instagram after abruptly losing 1.5 million followers.

Glad to have you back up top Ma$e.
